    AVAILABLE HERE: goo.gl/TQ5sAf
    It's been 2 years since we flew the original 1.3m Tundra for the first time. It was difficult to see how they could improve it. BUT the one obvious way...was to MAKE IT BIGGER ! It has all those same features that make it perfect for both the first time RC pilot, who wants to learn with a super stable model that can fly in all conditions and the expert, who wants to perform aerobatics and use it for FPV, bomb dropping, flying off water and many other scenarios. IT'S BIG, IT'S BEAUTIFUL AND WE LOVE IT ! The GRAND TUNDRA.
    Small correction: The wheels are 6.25 inch diameter not 5 inch as I state in the video.
    Filmed by Nic Mitchell for the 'Essential RC' RUclips channel using the Panasonic AG-UX180 4K camcorder. Model flown by Dom Mitchell.

    Oh yeah Dom. Great looking bird and great video. I see that you also had strong wind on maiden. We were filming yesterday and any other plane would not handle it. But this bird is just great. Great... Thanks for posting and greetings from Slovenia, Pilot Robert

      Hey Robert - Thanks Buddy. Bigger models do handle the wind better that's for sure. And let's face it we seem to always have some wind in Europe. Maybe with the exception of 2 days during Summer. Happy flying mate. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

    Very nice! That is a wonderful model. Was nice to see it fly. Gotta love those tires as big as bagels. Thanks for sharing this video. Kudos to the pilot, and videographer as well.

    Looks fun making me think about what kind of flight times I can get and set it up for some real FPV

    Hi, can you recommend a good DSMX receiver for this I have a DX8, should I get the Spektrum ones with or without AS3X or another brand that uses DSMX, also i see it recommends using a 7ch Rx to work the lights properly, is that so? And can they be/how would I get them to be off, on, blinking landing lights with half flaps, full on landing lights with full flaps, thanks

    Aha! there it Finally is :) It looks even more like a scaled up Tundra as I imagined it would :)
    Great video sir! :)

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  6 лет назад

      Thanks Dutch. Missed your comment. It is exactly scaled up version but flies so much better due to its bigger size. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

    I recently crashed my smaller Tundra V2 and was offered a chance to buy one of these larger size models.......can anyone tell me if the larger version flys { the same }... { easier }....{ harder }...thanks

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  3 года назад +1

      Bigger models are generally more stable. I've had both and prefer the bigger Grand Tundra. It flies more or less the same as the smaller Tundra but better if there is more wind. Good luck !

      @@EssentialRCI appricate your response....my only complaint with the smaller version, is the 40amp ESC kept cutting out due to overheating whenever I used the PNP recommended large carbon fiber prop that came with the model.....keep making the very helpful and informative airplane videos!!!

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  3 года назад +1

      Really? I've flown all the Tundras quite hard so surprised to hear that. Only thing I would look at is improving airflow around the ESC. Open hole larger at front and make sure air can flow out other side and isn't blocked and circulating. Cheers !

    so...is this a 3D plane or Bush plane?

    I found your channel from your original Tundra test. I’ve wanted one ever since watching your’s and others reviews. Personally I wa hoping for a ‘UMX’ Tundra to rival the sweet little EFlite UMX Timber (which has a very similar LED array as this one) so I can actually fly in the small area I have handy.
    Could you add some talking/info whilst flying? Voice over afterwards? Otherwis3 it’s just another plane flying about.

    What receiver is recommended for this model ? Is this a BNF ?

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  6 лет назад +1

      You need a 6 channel receiver minimum for throttle, aileron, flaps, elevator, rudder and lights. More channels would be better for more flexibility in setup. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

      Essential RC Did your GT include some kind of splitter for LED's ? ?? Surely , the lights shouldn't take up AUX 1,2,&3 ! Just wondering if they forgot to include the splitter on mine . Thanks

    Great video and allready have my pre-order in, hopefully they will be available soon..
    What size batteries will fit in the fuselage?

    • @TomDeWeerdt
      @TomDeWeerdt 6 лет назад +1

      You can get a motorcycle battery in there...
      I kid you not. Battery size won't be an issue!"
      You'll have to make a choice, go for longer flight time and loose some performance because of the extra weight, or go with a lighter battery and have a shorter flight time but better performance...

    • @WarbirdPiLOT
      @WarbirdPiLOT 6 лет назад

      Thanks, I have some 6s5000mah batteries that would work out ok I guess then.. did you get the floats as well?

      Unfortunately not, have a great little lake near my house so I'd love to strap those floats to it!

    4cell plane??

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  6 лет назад +2

      4 or 6 cells. Recommended capacity is 4000mah. I flew on 6S5000 and it balanced on CG fine. Awesome power. But for gentle flying apparently 4 cells will fly it capably. It comes with 2 propellors. 17x8 for 4S battery OR 16x8 for 6S battery. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  6 лет назад

      Nope. I don't get paid...and any video I upload of a product you can buy is by your definition a commercial.

    • @phililpb
      @phililpb 6 лет назад

      so you did not receive any goods or services from hobbyking to enable you to make this "review" that does not highlight any negative points about this model?

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  6 лет назад

      That sentence doesn't make sense. Think you are trying to say 2 things. They send me the model, I unbox it on video and show it being flown on video. Negative points? I honestly couldn't find any on that first flight. I've only thought subsequently that would be better to have provided hex type screws for the wings rather than cross head as they strip quite easily but that's a very minor point. Hope that helps. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

      Enough power for that on 6S! Intention is to try some hovering but I really don't want to risk crashing it...yet. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
