I'm thinking of switching from a fancier brand to a cheaper brand, but struggling to decide and execute the change. I've been all about Lavazza but the Folgers at my in-laws house actually tasted better to me, which is confusing to me, but a win for the budget.
So I'm curious what cheap and expensive brands you drink.

Please give yourself permission to just be. You are enough, you're doing enough. I am amazed you're out of bed given the recent trauma. Do what you need to and don't worry so much about putting out videos (unless it helps you) for a while. Those who love you understand. I always apreciate porch coffee and your honesty. But if you take a week or two off I'll still be here after. Thanks X x

Poor little Oscar...poor you 😢 I watched your video about it but didn't comment because well it got me thinking about my pet losses. Very difficult times for me. Found myself crying over the death of my first cat Psyche. She lived to be 20 and died in 2005 and here I am still grieving...silly I know. What I'm trying to say is I think losing a pet can really affect us. I'm really sorry this happened to Oscar. I'm glad you found his little body. At least you know. Having a little ceremony for him sounded like a nice thing to do. I lost my 16 year old cat 4 years ago. Just disappeared. I still look for him. Just have to keep telling myself that I was lucky to have them in my life at all. Take care, Claire 🤗❤️⚔️🔥🐎

A-lexi-thymia literally translates as 'no words for emotions' (& not 'no emotions' as I've sometimes encountered). I'm very similar in range to you.
Think of time spent recuperating / processing as needed maintenance. If you don't schedule it will schedule it for you, usually when most inconvenient.
Trike has been up together enough for a couple of shake-down runs. Now the engine /carb's running nicely & on full power some of the rest of it is feeling the strain. Had a weld give way on one cross brace on the swingarm, rear brake fluid reservoir leak & a rear direction indicator ripped off from shear acceleration (actually more likely from the crappy potholed roads round here). Cross brace & reservoir are fixed, replacement indicators on the way. Still good to be out on the road for a change & that acceleration - !!!!! (I've a short video I can link for you if you wish to see what it looks / sounds like).
Hope you have a steady wk & the required snuggling / sleep (so important). Have those as a priority. 💜

Do what you can and take it easy! I'm feeling down too. I want to visit MT this summer but both friends I'm trying to connect with there aren't replying to me. I know everyone is busy but I'm struggling not to take it personally, I have some abandonment issues from childhood. I think it wouldn't be so hard if I had a friend in my area but since I'm not your average parent, I'm a caregiver as well, I don't get much time to myself. Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a peaceful week Claire and friends! 💞

I'm finally starting to feel better after a week of having to take antibiotics and pain meds for a nasty infected tooth cavity. I have to wait another month for a root canal. I don't know how I've managed to go 42 years without getting a cavity, but this one is a doozy! I'm enjoying a chilled Starbucks drink as I share porch coffee with you. I believe I have this. It's tough but I feel better for having that word for it. It feels like I have a limited repertoire of emotions and also that I feel them (often inappropriately too) strongly. Also that I can't differentiate between them, say between angry/scared or excited/frightened. Thanks for sharing Claire. Best wishes to you.

That will be the next product #mugclub coffee. Processing trough stuff can be rough. Especially when working through stuff at the same time. Couple that with the travel stress. Yeah I get that your tired and need some time to process.
Oscar will be missed. It always seems like we don’t deserve animals. I seem to be going through something myself at the moment. So no autistic excitement here. Or any good stories. I need to make it outside then i should be fine. Time to make some tea and see where that takes us.
Have a good week Claire and friends.

I’m so sorry about Oscar. I can so relate! My heart goes out to you. Found you through Mom on the Spectrum. Emotions omg I stay stuck! At least you understand that it’s an issue. I have struggled with it my whole life. I never realized till 2020 that I may have struggled so badly because I was autistic! I heard you say on Taylors channel that 2020 was somewhat of a relief…and i so agree. I loved not having to go out and not having to socialize and I thought what is wrong with me. Well I think i understand a little bit better now that there’s nothing wrong it’s just the way that I am wired. It’s such a relief to finally understand and not beat myself up for thinking that way! I still haven’t gotten diagnosed officially. I am 74 years old and I am not sure that I will bother. But just realizing that I have been normal my whole life, has really calmed my anxiety 100%. I’m so glad that you’re young and you have already figured it out and can move on from there.

"People with alexithymia have difficulties recognizing and communicating their own emotions, and they also struggle to recognize and respond"
I do struggle with my internal sense of emotion. Like Clair, unless the emotional reaction is somewhat extreme, I have a hard time knowing and communicating what I am feeling. Complexity of emotional state is defiantly a thing but I feel "nuance" is much harder. The gentle touch of an emotion, which I think is more common than complex emotions, that flutter of feeling that smooths across your cheek, is much much harder for me to identify internally.
Though knowing how I am feeling is difficult, what is harder for me is seeing and recognizing or correctly identifying the emotions others are feeling. This element of alexithymia is for some reason not discussed a whole lot. I don't know if it is a fairly rare trait of alexithymia or not. I am pretty sure it isn't taboo.
The inability to perceive emotions in others is actually one of the hardest, if not the hardest, trait for me to deal with. It is actually the most frequent thing to set of my meltdowns. There are basically 2 primary spheres of emotion: good feelings and bad feelings. I have an incredibly hard time identifying and understanding bad feelings in others. I cannot reliably identify and then gauge the severity of the feeling unless it is extreme. to illustrate: sadness , disgust, and plain old anger literally all look the same to me. It isn't until the emotions reach levels like abject hatred or morose sadness do I start to understand. Likewise emotions that are in the realms of fear or surprise look very much the same, even though surprise can be pleasant.
Imagine a life in which someone you are close to is irritated by having cut veggies wrong but seeing it as naked anger. Then, after seeing nothing that kind of anger could possibly be aimed at or caused by, you assume you are the focus because nothing else could otherwise be.

So it was a weekend of removing all the very old stuff out of the cabin and moving in the new stuff. Other than that, I crocheted and took care of the boys.
