Great video, I appreciate the honesty with the deck and the objectivity to know it may just not be the one for you. The shoes look great, hope they've held up well for you.
Thanks! Gotta say how it is. The shoes held up well, nit longer than other brands in my experience but also not less. They weren’t completely done for, so I gifted them to a local youngster who skates goofy 😜
Hey! Nice video! So rad skateparks you got there, but the amount of scooters is ridiculously crazy! No offense but its like riding a anthill :)) Stocked about shoes! But in my place it coasts twice the official price suddenly, my country not in delivery zone as always
Thanks!! Yeah that’s the unfortunate part about nice new parks in areas with lots of families. The kids just go whenever and wherever without looking ahead, gets pretty dangerous (for them:D). That’s too bad - hopefully they get cheaper and easier to come by at some point. They are really great to skate!
ive been riding shaped boards for the last 10 years, elephant, lifeblood, lance flip, all pool shaped so this looks good to me but no one sells welcome in my country i would need to order from the US. will think about it, maybe if i find a good deal ill buy it, i love nora too
Depends on where you are located, at least in Europe it’s quite easy to get your hands on Welcome decks - maybe not in local stores but all the big online stores such as Titus and Sickboards carry them. They should also deliver outside Europe afaik - have a look.
Nice vid. I like that you reviewed a board thats a bit different to the typical stuff out there. I was thinking of getting the 7.75" version to learn freestyle affordably. I'd shave down the nose so it's flat. I'm wondering if the pop on your board would improve if you used trucks like Ace to reduce the wheelbase. Ben Degros has nice vids explaining how truck wheelbase can affect the pop.
Nora is amazing - as skater and also person (from what one can see from her videos etc). I think she had a 8.0 and 8.6 version of that shape but they are both quite mellow.
i like the month of june in finland, sun seems up very very late nice for skating without too many peoples around. skating like you did in parks full of kids is totally a no go for me nowadays, im around the same age as you, 33-34, and im not in the mood for that. loved your vids as usual, i did the same thing you did, two years ago, bought the exact same thing i already bought a year ago and didnt liked at the time, there wont be a third i can make it clear :D it was vans shoes there wont be any more vans shoes for me ! i like etnies more comfy more shock absorption
I absolutely love the summer here too! Sun is up very early and it gets dark (not fully though) super late. I agree, I try to avoid kid-filled parks as much as I can by either going very early or late in the evening, but they are just everywhere ^^ especially in family areas with newly built parks. Hah, maybe it does take a third try for me too - we will see. Right now I ride a Polar 8,7”, next video coming in a couple weeks. I gotta say, I love Vans (most models), Etnies are also great - very comfy as you said. Now the Cariumas are definitely on my favorites list. I’ll probably try the high tops next!
@@MarcoEckhardt i would like to try the polar surf with the wheel wells. Its shaped but i fear the nose might be too short. For the moment i have a krooked gonz 9.8 and a couch from crailtap football shaped 9.2 with crazy short wb 13.8 fun decks. Id say the krooked is easier to use.
@@mulldriftyr those sound like fun decks for sure! I had a Polar 8,5” with the wheel wells last year, unfortunately I broke the deck on my second session in front of the rear truck (in line with the wheel wells). Sick graphics and amazing shaped popsicle though!
Just using a counter sink bit to help the screws to sit flush and avoid grip pushing out around he screw heads. If you have hardware with really small heads (shorty’s silverados or some thunder hardware for example) it’s not too big of an issue even without countersinking. But hardware with bigger screw heads like Indy hardware tends to not sit flush without a little help. Of course this isn’t necessary but I like it when the bolts are flush with the deck!
maybe this board doesn't pair well with indy's to your liking. maybe with thunders it would've had more power in the pop. i have this board and it does have a light pop but i love light pop bc mellowness just works for the more flowy style i have
I want this deck but they are hard to find because i ride a size 8.0 and when i do find them they are complete, meaning they are all ready put together but i want to put it together😑
Nora is the best! Rad video dude
Absolutely - she’s one of my favorite skaters for sure. She just makes it look so easy, as if she was surfing!
Appreciate it 🙏🏻

Take your risers off or change your tricks to thunders and you’ll get more pop from the difference in the geometry of the wheelbase.

I am a huge nora v fan, I just wish she had different decks so I could skate one lol (I like steep concave and smaller decks)

Was you using a bit to pre drill the hardware holes? Never seen anyone do that. Looks like it would help to make the bolts flush

dude where did you get that grip tape?😭 it’s amazing 😂
Made it myself! Cut small squares in different spray painted some of them + some clear grip!
I was going to buy this deck recently. How diff does the nose perform feel?
Nose not much at all, the square-ish tail might feel odd ar first for scooping tricks like tre flips etc!
@@MarcoEckhardt thanks for the reply.

Love your vids, but this one uploaded to only 360p! Keep up the great stuff.
It has just uploaded - wait a bit and the 4K version is available!
Edit: now it’s there in max resolution!
@@MarcoEckhardt Woohoo! Thanks, man!
I love welcome decks for transition, but the print doesn't last long at all and is very, very fragile
So….many….children… hah. Good for you having the nerve to skate amongst all those youngsters
Did the shape of the deck still feel like riding a popsicle ?
Yeah, it did. Didn’t really influence much in my opinion.
Can you olliewit a skooter?
Why would you use risers for this setup???
Personal preference?
mediocre skateboarders??? THATS ME!
