    I refused to give my child processed foods for the first 5 years of his life. Treats were extra fruit, yoghurt or a box of raisins. He is now 13 and loves vegetables, fruits but he does have sweets and crisps - it's just not his go to. He will grab an apple or banana when he wants a snack. Also I make the conscious decision to not have sweets and crisps in abundance in my home - so he doesn't have the easy option to grab the snacks. Parents do have a major role based on knowledge - genetics though is a major factor that needs to be considered. Also my sons BMI isn't what's reflected in the NHS as an African male - they should be able to factor all the parameters before stating what's 'healthy' or 'not healthy' in my humble opinion.

    Riva is so right, biological issues can be further influenced by psychological factors. The mental plays in HUGE role is how you make decisions in your life.
    Metabolism is another thing but everyone should know this, not everyone has the same metabolism and it can be fixed if your MIND is willing.

    • @samo6083
      @samo6083 2 года назад +7

      What a load of bs?? There is no "fixing" your metabolism, everyone's is different and you yourself need eat correctly depending on your metabolism.
      Your metabolism changes many times from when you're a kid to a young adult, to when you're old and grey. Its normal for it to change but because its changes doesn't give you a free pass to go and be uselessly fat😂😂😂😂😂
      There is not a single valid excuse of being fat most people on earth can say.
      There's like a tiny percent of the population that genuinely have real problems with no fixes but 99.9% of all people have no excuse for having an unhealthy body that's full of fat.

    • @bbybxnmi
      @bbybxnmi 2 года назад +1

      @@samo6083 Actually I think you’d find that my point is very much a biological fact. Fixing your metabolism as you age is very possible (i.e. gyming, eating certain foods increases or BOOSTS it. That’s what I meant. Your metabolism is how fast your body breaks down food or carries out chemical reactions, sometimes the body needs a jumpstart from time to time).
      And everyone is born with different rates, and sometimes those that are unaware and that get depressed AND then comfort eat will have themself a psychological factor in conjunction with a biological issue. Sometimes it’s just basic lack of education or sometimes it could be trauma/depression/ROUTINE (search into Pavlovs dogs experiment on association with pleasure) etc... all leading back to how the mind works.
      HOWEVER you can lead a horse to water but you can’t force it to drink... its the mental once again that can determine if you’re gonna do shit or not. Hence my point still stands, different factors CAN coexist together amongst a problem.

    • @samo6083
      @samo6083 2 года назад +2

      @@bbybxnmi you can boost your metabolism as much as you want, it'll never be anything like it was when you're old.
      But your metabolism doesn't really matter it terms of being fat.
      Being fat is a simple concept, you are taking in more energy than youre burning. Its that simple, same principles no matter your metabolic rate. Metabolism is kinda irrelevant, you just adjust to your body.
      No matter what biological factor is or any other factor, the same principles apply. You're fat because you're taking in more energy than your body needs.

    • @bbybxnmi
      @bbybxnmi 2 года назад

      @@samo6083 I beg to differ, metabolism is a vital process within the body especially regarding weight, it’s an oscillation of how steady your body is. Without it you’d be dead.
      In terms of ingestion of more energy whether more fats or carbs etc. - thats not an issue because there’s so many bodybuilders, athletic folks or even slim folks who practice intake of high levels of energy and they aren’t fat. Refer to GoGos comment on slim folk eating bares and not gaining weight and they don’t even go gym. Its about the metabolic rate, yes how fast your body is burning of calories, which is a METABOLIC process. This is basic biology 101.
      We aren’t talking about old age, now you’re going off to a different point, my biological and psychological reasoning still stands. You can take a horse to water but can’t force it to drink (that horse may not drink due to multiple factors).
      Again, it would be wise to look up some experiments on how complex the mind is (or if you like to read, you can read Pyscho-cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz.)

    I would agree early on the Parents holding the majority of the responsibility because they're likely to be the ones who molded those habits on to the child (pre-teen & younger). Either directly and or indirectly. Saying "Don't get up until you finish your plate" while the parent's are the ones who choose what's on the plate & the portion size allowed. The amount of snacks allowed in the household would also be their call since they're the ones with the money and final say on what's bought. So lets say a kid wised up & did do their research on healthy meals, alternative snacks and all that, it would still fall on the parents to financially back up the change to healthier foods as well as in part help maintain that within the household. Otherwise it would be very difficult for a kid (imagine a 9 or 10 year old) to hold on to their values to eat healthier while seeing their parents stuffing themselves on Ice cream and chips all within hand reach to them as well.
    However slowly and incrementally the kid will start to hold some of the responsibility because they'll be made aware either through seeing their body widen or by hearing it through friends/family/a doctor that they are gaining unhealthy levels of weight. At which point they do have SOME options such as becoming more active and being more aware of when/how they eat even if the rest of the family isn't financially or emotionally there for them. Once they're 18 and independent those options widen and around that age or older it fully becomes their responsibility to get mental and/or physical help in order to undo any damaging habits their parents or their own personal struggles may have instilled on them. At that point you get to call the shots and choose the lifestyle you'd prefer to live by.

    The reason why it’s passed on is because you have the same hereditary trait your mother way bad the child is now eating the same as the mother. (Example) are adults teaching children. Good eating habits? The children then grow into adults with the eating diet they are raised with. Unless they chose healthier choices

    • @samo6083
      @samo6083 2 года назад +2

      This eating disorder this is all bs. Eating disorders are a privilege. Go and check the stats on people with eating disorders in hunter gatherer societies, when you have time on your hands people tend to choose to be useless.
      All these eating disorders only come about in privileged societies, that's literally why the poorest people on the planet do not have any eating disorders. Just a label to make useless people feel better

    NUNU is right unfortunately for her critics. By definition it is your responsibility if such misfortune of obesity or I'll health to be bestowed upon you as you the one with the 'Choice' to consume high fatty foods each time. Also by social standards as you are responsible for yourself outright as an individual in this world.
    As per NUNUs other point, 'it is within you'. As an individual responsible for your final actions, thoughts and feelings, the beliefs you accept are within and are a part of your 'belief system' which one 'perceives' to be for one's 'best' interests. This in fact being one's fault.
    Her perception and perspectives are just fine and quite advanced beyond most excuses mentioned.
    This cast has a hidden agenda against this young lady. Unfortunately those who are unwilling to accept truth respond in a rejecting and disrespectful manners.
    We love you NUNU & love the hair doll xx

      @@realc7777 I'd say in all fairness judging from the negative aspects of their responses, NUNU being of the darker complection is a factor as well as being a none conformist who is comfortable with her unique qualities also not to forget her openness to being truthful(I.e the sex during monthly cycles opinion which the vast majority partake in on occasions).
      Again a case of the social standards and darker complexion originating from cultures who have lost in warfare in the worst of ways which have deemed them unpopular in today's backwards collective culture that accepts good as bad and bad as good.
      Whenever you acknowledge comfort or joy when one or a group of people respond and Express negativity towards another or a topic, this can indicate what/who they feel is deserving of being ranked lowest for accepted abuse. The treatment is clearly inadequate towards her and would make front pages if she were caucasian

  • @Gchild2k6

    On this one, Nunu is speaking facts 1bn%. The difference between a child and adult is that as an adult you have to responsibility to assess thing and make better decisions. Lots of kids are brought up racist. If they carry with it as an adult, do we as people of colour say hey, its not their fault? Nope. Just because you are a brought up a certain way, you still have a responsibility to do better. What you do as an adult is always your fault even if you don't know any different. You have a responsibility as an adult to better yourself no matter what you were taught as a child. Health is wealth..lying to someone that it is not their fault is just pure negligence. Empower people to own their issues, overcome their self guilt and then take positive action to be better.

    Actually there is such thing as big boned but it's not a medical term. And people just use it incorrectly. And most of us have average bones but some have bigger or smaller bones. But makes someone big boned is the muscle and fat on top of the bones. This is what makes people look bigger than others. But being big boned is not why people are overweight. Like they said there are alot of other things contributing ie stress, depression, even when you have intense pain and you have to get steriod injections and epidural to help with the pain that makes you gain weight too
