- Welcome to today's renovation of an old cannon, which was made by my friend's father more than 60 years ago. As it served as a decoration in the garden, where it had been raining on the cannon for many years, it fell into disrepair.
This video is only a restoration of a historical object and does not in any way endorse the weapons, their use or possession.
If you have any information, you can share it with others on my Facebook page:

If you have any questions about the process, use machines or other things, ask me in the comments. I try to answer everyone and as soon as possible.
I'm sorry for my bad English, it's not my language.
I'm uploading videos about restoring mechanical things. I'm uploading videos about the restoration of old wooden things. I fix things as best I can. I am self-taught. Therefore, if some procedures are wrong, forgive me. Thank you.

I like when the restorations are finished, you show that it works as intended. Great work as always.
Thank you so much Robert :)
What a tremendous amount of work to restore this canon. You're such a wonderful artist and your hard work brought this canon back to life. Thank you for an incredible video. And thank Veronika for the explanation at the end of the restoration. She is a beautiful model and always does very well. Blessings to the both of you. Stay safe. 😊👍👍👍
Thank you so much Chuck :)
Wow, with all that rust flakes that came out of the barrel, you increased the caliber a lot!
:-D
Great job, I would had given in at these wheels, they seemed that much gone, but you brought them back nicely!
Thx for showing!
:-D
Lol, thanks Horst :)
A

Sono felice, grazie Joan :)
Those square nails are from the 1700’s - 1800’s pretty cool
This cannon is a circa 1970 replica
Good to see the old wheelwright's tricks using the curved offcuts as supports - ansd a sanding block!
My father made a cannon, actually two; he was a tool and die maker. One was a mini cannon (that shot!) and I still have that. The other was a bigger cannon. He and my grandfather mounted it to a structure like the one in the video. After much alcohol later, they decided to test it. Safety in mind, they shot it towards a hill with a wooded area (no inhabitants but for birds and deer). They had a lot of fun shooting the cannon. Later, my grandmother found what they shot: her newly painted picnic table. Let's just say, both my grandfather and father got a chewing out.
Much alcohol makes men into boys. 😂
Wow, thanks for your story. We didn't use the projectile for safety.
That's hilarious! Poor table... a casualty of war... 😂 and I bet the deer were five miles away before the echoes died away!
Apenas uma palavra: " Maravilhoso" Congratulações...
Obrigado :)
What a old cannon
Sweet Job

I thought there would be no way the wheels could be saved but holy cow you did it
This is a first. I love the fact it was built by your father's friend and not intended for firing. Great restoration.
What an amazing restoration once again. Long live you both!
Thank you Shahid :)

Andrzej :)
Many years ago a friend and I built a cannon that was a little bit bigger than this one. We had a lot of fun making it and used the barrel off an old anti-aircraft gun that was being scrapped off a ship.
Greetings from Petersburg!
Wow! Radek, you have no idea how useful a thing you now have. First, she is beautiful. Secondly: you can’t even imagine what discounts open in stores when you take such a thing with you. And to make chops, she generally has no price. You load 0.5 kg.tenderloin, one shot and that's it. The chop is ready. What next? Veronica knows what to do next.
:-D

Excellent work. I have been a hobby woodworker for many years and had an opportunity to work several months for a friend who builds and refurbishes horse-drawn vehicles including wagons, carriages, sleighs and buggies, We rebuilt a pair of much larger cannon wheels from a US Civil War battle field. "Sweating" the iron tires on the wheels was quite an experience as each wheel weighed about 200 lb. Thanks for sharing your work.
Wow, thank you for your story Thomas :)
Outstanding result.
Thank you :)
Wonderful job, really thought the wood was totally beyond any salvation. Marvellous carpentry skills in laying in the new wood. Veronika, excellent piece to camera. I noticed with the cannon firing the men were not to be seen while brave Veronika ignited it 😉
There's just something about a woman in uniform 😍 💕
Thak you, Veronica :)
A pile of rusty iron and rotted wood transformed into an expertly restored relic. Thank you for another great restoration.
Thank you so much Neil :)

As an American🇺🇸 and a Texan I have an appreciation for firearms and other things that go boom, bang, pow and pop. Beautiful restoration of a classic cannon. I am surprised that you were able to salvage most of the wheels. Impressive!!!!!
The carriage for the cannon is beautiful.
