Only way to fully appreciate this masterpiece of an album.. then, proceed to listen to all other albums including the newly released Vaxis 2: Window of the Waking Mind and their first album The Second Stage Turbine. All of it pertains to the same epic sci fi story. Also, Claudio’s side project The Prize Fight Inferno tells the same story from a different point of view (Jesse’s aka TPFI)
Absolutely agree. It’s so powerful. Makes you feel so hard. Still remember driving around in my first car, a shitty 87 Pontiac, with this cd on repeat.
The chorus is so good. Easily one of my favorite Coheed moments when his voice harmonizes. _This comlink's lost its frequency and _*_I feel that we're coming home short_*
I first listened to this album when I was 18 working at a bank when I asked a coworker if he had anything I could listen to. I was instantly hooked. Bought the cd myself the next day.
I discovered this CD in a store many years ago when you had to shop for music. Alas it was a great find and to this day I miss the days of searching on my own!!!!!
How this song relates to the lore of Armory Wars: The battle has begun between the URA and the rebellion, who are both fighting furiously. Many are killed or wounded and, amidst the battle, Chase is captured by the URA. In an attempt to gain the affections of Jesse, Sizer gives himself up in exchange for Chase’s release. The URA agrees to the deal and Sizer is taken away to Shylos Ten, a quiet planet where the URA performs its brutal interrogations.
I have been a fan of Coheed since welcome home and knew a little of the Amory wars story, but now with the release of Vexus I am a true Child of the Fence. I am going back and revisiting the Amory wars and truly getting the story I have to get the comics. I love them.
Back in the day, before the comics, on a website called cobalt and calcium... the old blood theorized over every line of lyrics and on a grander scale, wtf exactly was happening. Arguably, we helped shape some of the story. Not anything large enough to change the story, just enough to tell it in a more comprehensive way. Those times were so much fun. The Amory wars begin and end with The Afterman: Ascent/Descent. Even though chronologically it is a prologue. Before Afterman "On The Brink" was considered the end of the Amory Wars and in almost every context it is. IKSOSE3 and SSTB both have epic battles in them. "Man your own Jackhanmers" is generally agreed to be more bad ass than "I need Mayo" however i digress i love it all. Including Prize Fighter Inferno albums.
Lyrics: Listen to the world out on the outside pressing in Are you ready on my mark? Fingers given names and with the last word they ascend On the comfort of their well being...in arms Into something they can't stop but wish that they could kill You're the answer to their prayer [Chorus:] In your last hour stand You'll notice the one that you had loved in dreams is here among the others Chase it's you I want but if I can't have her Then why should I spend any more time in a world that's going to end pretty soon? I need you now more than I ever did I'll hand myself over for you This comlink's lost its frequency and I feel that we're coming home short Here take me instead I'd rather not see her off alone Scattered amongst the killing streets the children slate defense Is god's work to have us fail? Rivered blood streams out the dead as bodies foul the air I'll make peace when this is done In arms...we storm Slowly the streets begin to fill with new flesh bound to bone Armed and ready it begins again... [Chorus] Tonight we storm Tonight... Deliver a favor to my love [x4] [Chorus]
It's a symphony and you got to get Visions from it's just amazing stuff Coheed and Cambria, music carried me more than any other b******* out there besides God
When I hear Coheed and Cambria I get Visions from it's all positive even though some of the lyrics I feel the spirit of the song better than the lyrics, and the lyrics are absolutely incredible and if there's something negative in the lyrics my heart and God and me will screen it out
Found this song so many years ago. It was used in a Planetside 1 fan video and I ended up looking for it then found a bunch of other C&C songs. Glad it happened. Wish I could find the video today but this was long before the days of YT
I jammed out to this album everyday until I got punk rock albums. But even still I had their live DVD , so they were my staple when I went punk. I smoked so much weed to this album! By the time this song was done, every one of my high school buddies were done by marijuana overdose off the gravity bong!
Hmm I don't think they did one for this but I stumbled upon the ones for Blood Red Summer and Juggernaut that I totally missed and JESUS are they good!
I was the only person I knew who liked this band growing up. Ever around me fucking hated Coheed and Cambria. It's so bizarre to see people who enjoy them too.
@@mattmartin9558 disclaimer - as a year has passed since your comment - I dont know any fucks called Jaquoe. Its a shit name. As is christgau. Thought you might enjoy additional "opinions of total nobodies "

Was never a fan of this band, my brother was though. This song is undeniably tremendous
This shit takes me back to 8th grade, playing this at ungodly volumes while I slayed shit on Diablo 2 with a hammerdin. Ahhhh, such good times.
The carefree years we can't appreciate fully until they're gone

I just got them after 15 years of random and 12 of yearning and now I bawl when I listen lol

Classic Coheed, best Coheed
The drums in this song are next level
Haha I don't get it, I've seen a couple people reference the standout drumming but it sounds basic to me, tight but not noteworthy at all
Lyrics:
Listen to the world out on the outside pressing in

I'll hand myself over for you

I like their whole discography 🤷♂️
