Hi Cj, looking forwards to see the build. Keys are definitely not genuine Ducati will have the Ducati logo on them. You will 100% need the immobiliser ring to go under the key stock or will not start. Get them belts changed before riding don’t risk them snapping with no history of servicing. Try to save the the dash as is linked to the keys and ECU. All the best from the UK.
Thank you sir for the info! In the next vid at the end I have a giveaway for key chains and you won one for free! If you would shoot me a text over insta with whatever style you would like and I can get it shipped over to you for free! Hope you enjoy! Cheers and thanks again for the info!
Just subbed. I've watched a few of your vids and I appreciate that you aren't constantly talking like nearly every other channel. I enjoy that you show the auction process and what you pay for each bike. I've had a few bikes over the past 40 years but never crashed one so it's good to see what's under the fairings. You mentioned recently that you are a person of Faith and that is a rare trait in a young person nowadays.
@@tony-zp1uqI’m a copart broker and dealer. It costs a lot to ship to Europe. To ship a bike you need to have someone deliver it from the copart lot to the port. Then pay the port for shipping to Europe wherever you are. Basically a lot of money. More than the bike itself that’s for sure
Hi CJ Media, Hope this helps, when you turned on the dash it said, 'SBK 848 TSE' which stands for "TestaStretta Evoluzione" for the TSE Part, so in all it means Superbike 848 TestaStretta Evoluzione, ie for an 848 Evo, so it may not be a Base Model 848, or the guy has replaced the speedometer to an 848 Evo's speedometer. I am not completely sure but it may be the case.
Regarding the immobilizer, you're correct. That ring reads the resistance off the chip in your key. The ignition will turn on (obviously) without it in place, but the bike will not crank. There's a bracket that the ring fits in that goes over your ignition cylinder which you will need to keep everything in place. I recently went through this with a 2010 Ducati Hypermotard which was a theft recovery and needed the ignition swapped. Your setup looks identical to mine. Best of luck! I look forward to seeing your impressions when you're done with the build!
CJ, I owned one 848 many years before and It was one of my favourite motorbikes ever. There are many things I could tell you about this very Big SBK!! You should change inner motor belts. That is a priority. Enjoy!!
Hey CJ, the seat is an original Ducati Performance comfort seat. Save it, it's quit sought after by other Ducati 848 riders. Your's looks like someone crashed a track bike one to many times and decided to get rid of it. Fairing damage looks like gravel rash. The ring is for the immobiliser, but the cable should go under triple tree, so it should be long enough. Keys are definitely not original. Those have the older Ducati Performance logo on them. Great bikes tough! I had one before my current Streetfighter 848, thorougly enjoyed that bike until I braked way to hard and nearly totalled it doing a front flip :D
Looks like an original Ducati superpole seat, the plastic ring is the immobiliser antena and fits around the ignition barrel under the plastic cover that sits on the tank
Hey CJ! Been watching your channel for quite some time now, love your stuff! Do you think you will ever get a GSX-R 1000 to rebuild? You have gotten all the other Japanese liter bikes so it seems improper to not finish it off! God bless man
Bro, ur videos are so awesome, amazing, interesting, informative, educative, innovative. I love and learn watching ur rebuild videos. I just have one question, what happend to the red Kia stinger?
If it runs, take your time and restore it correctly. It’s a beautiful bike, down on horsepower for todays standards, but it will look great and make a good rider. Can’t wait for the results!
Usually on older Ducati's the seat has a centre bolt that attaches to the tank. To remove you undo the seat screws. Prop the seat unit up with a piece of wood to allow you to get a 17mm spanner to the bolt that attaches to the tank. Once the bolt is undone. The whole mono seat unit lifts off. The seat is supposed to be screwed to the cowl unit. Before fitting to the tank. Hope this is helpful. Good luck with the build.
Thank you sir! I appreciate this info and will put this to use!! Also you won a key chain in my next video! In the next video at the end I will show a bunch of styles for motorcycle key chains and you can pick whatever one you would like and I'll get it shipped to you for free! If you could DM me on Instagram at c.j.media, cheers!
I built a 848 Evo and might have a spare cluster housing if your interested. Also I was able to pull the PIN code and Mechanical Code. I can help with that also. Let me know
The plastic ring is the halo for the ignition it's coded to the keys . There's another RUclips channel built one they had to get two new keys coded to the bike
the 30 amp with the disconnected wire is for the starter. feel free to hit me up if you need help with the build. I rebuilt a 2013 848 Evo Corse SE, so I have a fair amount of knowledge I’d be more than willing to pass onto you
Hey CJ Great find, with all the rebuilds you have completed. Would you have any left over parts for a 06-07 CBR 1000RR (ex: Gas Tank, fairings Instrument Cluster for sale)?

Can't wait for the fireblade complete rebuild.
Amasing how cheap bike can be in US.. congrats with the score!
Bro it’s mind blowing.. in Europe it’s literally too expensive, some time u can find wrecked motorcycles for the same price as a running motorcycle..
How many it will cost to ship some bike to EU ? in EU its fcking expensive everything, i see prices on copart i cry.. :D
@@tony-zp1uq you are French ? Or from uk bro ?

Genuine key looks different... I would say it is a stolen recovered and the front disc damage is where a disc lock was cut/ground off....
This was a great deal & It's like a vintage collection in the garage so far. Hope you're gonna be uploading consistantly with that CBR.
You learn for repairing bikes or it's just working experience 😊🎉

this bike bike runs and sounds really cool! u will be surprised. The engine has a lot of power for an 848 and it's beautiful.

What website do you use at the beginning of the video?
1:29 and how did it happen that your GPS is in Russian?
Ducati again 🔥
It probably needs a valve inspection/belt service unless you can find any maintenance history.
Superpole seat from Ducati. Worth a bit.
What a cool find that bike needs a few Parts and wash lol to Run like A Beast Again 💪 😎
Exactly!
Bikes are love ❤❤

Thats a superpole seat bud not standard and the 30amp where the wire is broken is the main 30amp fuse so if that is blown or damaged bike wont start
