I grew up when these cars were new. I always liked the Cadillacs of this era. They really said that you had arrived. Even for a guy in his early 20s at the time, I wanted one.
Bill - Those aren't bucket seats. They are "Dual Comfort 45/45 Seats", and they were standard on the Eldorado's for 1981. It is stressed in the brochure that they "seat 2 people". This is one stunning Eldorado
Very stunning Cadillac Eldorado and the 4-6-8 engine feature still work some later models got the updated prom chip which improved the 4-6-8- but most people pull the plug out and keep it as a normal v8 your cars are always mint 👍
I had an 81 triple white with the trunk straps toilet seat and rolls Royce grille and the Astro roof, I still miss that car every day. I love the 6.0 engine.
I believe Cadillac made the change to bucket seats on all Eldorados for ‘81. My Mom had one and it had a tray like thing on the floor between the seats. I recall things always falling between haha.
@@peterlindner8819 Always scouring the internet many hours of everyday!! I can certainly sell anyone a car outside of BAT if I have not yet committed to them. I choose BAT because it is an audience of very well educated and serious buyers. Makes it easier to sell. You put the car up and in 7 days it's usually sold. Thanks! But call me if you have something specific you want. 843 294 7777
One year-only split seats with standard console. There was an optional, larger console which had a storage compartment with closing lid. This same console is more commonly seen on 1979-85 eldorados.
Beautifully cared for Eldorado! I worked at a Cadillac dealership parts department when these cars were new. The V8-6-4 had its share of problems. The recall fix was a certain length of wire of a certain gauge and a toggle switch to override the system. The technology just wasn't advanced enough at the time for the concept. This was not nearly as bad as the diesel debacle.... remember how those would come into the shop and you could hear that the engine was in trouble. I'm an Olds guy and it was an embarrassment how the lack of durability testing was dumped on the consumer! My father had an '85 with the HT 4100...never had a problem and got good gas mileage.
Beautiful caddy. That's the one to have. The HT4100 is not good. This 81 has the last great Cadillac V8. Yes you can disable the V8-6-4 easily and you have a bulletproof engine. 80/81 the best years for these.
Yeah ok so says 100 other people. Funny how this car made it FORTY TWO years and it's still running like a fine Swiss watch. When you wake up tomorrow try and find something positive to say. Thanks and good luck!

Nice!!
So many of the V468's were trouble prone, but certainly better than the nightmare that followed it in 82 onward.
The 79 and 80 had the best motor
Yes, but even though there were some issues with some of these engines, MANY were good ones!

@@ephraimfink9010 No problem! The only Eldo I have now is a blue 76 Convertible that I am getting ready
I’m dizzy from the constant zooming around.
LOL!! I gotta cover the car so people know what they are getting! I appreciate it!
Worst engine evr in a Cadillac. I would not want this car with 0 miles on it!
