One of my favourite cards is a fake card called "changing the position" I must've got it On a trip to Spain as a kid.
It's a level 5 trap card, plough attribute
The effect reads "active this card when your opponent want to appoint a monster from you by magic, trap or fighting way. So you ecan Chang the oppointed mouster with another one you preferred when your opponent appointed a very important mouster from you, you just offer your oreffered one as fall guy"
Also I think there are real God crads with those flavour texts. But the real ones say "this card cannot be used in a duel"
It's actually a level 7 and the level comes from left to right like xyz rank does
at my school when i was younger we didn't have money for the yugioh cards we wanted so we just got some card pictures online, sized them in paint, printed them off and stuck them over useless cards like petit dragon and skull servant. its funny to think that skull servant isn't that useless anymore lol.

all of the kids at my school had either a fake god card or all in 1 exodia. i had one friend & we were some of the few people at school who actually knew how to play, so on the playground, other kids would summon their fake god cards/exodias without tributes. one kid summons "Dark Master" against me, i see he has infinite attack, he tries to attack me with it, but i had a magic cylinder set & he wasn't too happy with that

My uncle lived for a couple years in Okinawa when I was younger so I learned about the prolific bootlegging industry in Asia early on.. with that in mind, my cousins and I used to hunt these things out on purpose at the flea market. A $1 deck that contained every single sweet card from the show? Shoot.
I never saw a fake God Card in its time, although my best friend and I straight-up drew up an Obelisk and Slifer on printer paper, cut it to size and put it in a sleeve. We handled the fact it was so obvious which card it was in the deck by placing the god card in the middle of one another's decks post shuffle.. oh to be 12 again.

The original unplayable Gods had blank red blue and yellow backs, and that Slifer lore is actually correct.

I had an obelisk version of Slifer written in Japanese. I thought they didn't have the Konami and Yugioh logos in the back because it was a God card.
The Slifer description is indeed real - I know it definitely appeared in Legendary Collection 1 and any Slifer prints before then (which I believe were only the god cards that came with the various games and any pulled from packs were fake though I'm not sure here). The only real thing you can see on the front of the card to show it's fake is the description is missing a space - that and the obvious font and level discrepancies.

I remember when this kid in my neighborhood's family was having a yardsale, and sold me a shit ton of old cards for $5.00. half of them were fake, but I got a good bit of real rare cards as well. Then my bro lost the couple Blue Eyes that we had... Still good times.

I'm pretty sure I have a card in that rarity of Hamon sitting around somewhere still. It's super crazy and one of the coolest fakes I've seen.
at least they try to make them like the originals... but here in Mexico we had some pretty bad fakes, some where smaller than the actual card and made out of almost regular paper, hell, we even got cards with no text and just the stars as in the anime... i have right now 5 exodia fakes, not the parts but the entire exodia as one card, 3 of them are name "Darkly big rabbi" and the card says "warrior race/effect, whenthe beelzebub,s seal was been untied, any enemy will been destroying at minute", the fourth one is named "Cheer-Chost Dark master" and it says "Old religion: Dark strenght destroy the attacking monster, in the traditional is more strengten pride" and the art it's like someone stretched some fanart on paint.
When I was younger all my cards were fake. I didn’t really mind because my fakes were way stronger then any real cards I ever had.
I had a fake card once and even as someone who didn't play Yu-Gi-Oh! at all I could still tell the difference from the real ones pretty easily. Pretty cool still though I can see why you'd keep some.

Flee markets and chinatowns are the best places for fwke cards, but if your really lucky you will find really old sets that are not fake.
I've found legit copys of the god cards on one of them. 30 cents. Cuz 10 cent per card. This mother probably got killed the other day.
I remember my parents paid over £200 for the Five pieces of Exodia and The Three Egyptian God Cards (the ones you aren't supposed to use in duels) and since I was young, I had no idea they were all fake, until I was like 14-years old.
I kind of regret getting rid of the Exodia cards, but I kept the Egyptian God Cards.
However, their condition is pretty poor now, since they are over 10 years old.

"fake cards" were the ones you could find in grocery stores and small markets here in Costa Rica, you could go to the mini market at the Block's corner and they sold yu gi oh packs, it was soo fun. I have hundreds of them, because you could only buy original yu gi oh decks (yeah, whole decks or nothing) at specialized stores, for like 20x more expensive, per card.

I’ve gotten fake cards before but a little funny story. My brother and I got rid of some cards because we thought they were fake. Turns out they were actually just Japanese cards and the weird box on the right bottom side made us think that.
I have never been able to find it again, but as a kid I had a fake Kuriboh called 'Meatball Chestnut'
I once had a card called "Century Robber." It was "Land" attribute, and the effect was "Each time opponent was destroyed, one card declared, If opponent say yes, put it to the cemetery." Now my brother and I use "put it to the cemetery" for everything lol.
Slifer actually looks perfect minus red back. Text is word for word from the original printing.
I collect some fake cards too. I have a bunch of Mask of Restricts where the effect is "in no way cannot do sacrifice" and they have the same sort of texture that your Hamon has. Others include a monster version of completed Exodia, some fake Lightsworns, and a Black Man Eating Shark

Wait so the egyptian god cards, that only read flavor text and have the coloured backs are actually simply fakes? My brother has those and I thought they were like vanity cards. Unplayable, but official, basically to show off.

I'm not sure you actually know what a real god card looks like anymore. They never have the logos on the back, and the real ones also have that same "true power" flavor text. They also actually do not have a proper eye of Anubis because they are printed by a different factory (or at least if my memory serves me right from back than). I just sold my childhood god cards to the local shop, as well as the legendary collection ones. I don't know off the top of my head if the Legendary Collection ones feature the eye of Anubis because I have no idea where they were printed and never treated the Legendary Collection ones like more than decorations til the store decided to buy them.
My personal favorite fake card I own is a Level 4 Fusion monster with Dust Tornado's artwork named Reckless Greed with the effect that it can destroy a Spell or Trap card.

I have 3 volcano knifes and the ruling says you can use it 3 rounds so you have up to 3 stickers places on your forehead before you can no longer use the effect if you run 3.

Have you seen the fake cards that look like they are from the Yu-Gi-Oh anime (english dub)? They have the monster picture taking up the whole top part like in the anime, and the generic empty bottom part that just shows the card type or whatever. I used to always wonder why cards looked like that in the anime as a kid, for whatever reason it didn't occur to me it was because they were covering the Japanese cards lol.
My favourite fake card is called 'Evil god the Befalling of the god' (original card name is the wicked avatar)
I also had a fake the wicked dreadroot too, it was called Evil god root of terror or something. It was a kinda strange looking 'secret rare' but it's name was golden for some reason. Always thought it looked cool so I kept ahold of it :P
I had a "exodia" called Dark Master who had "limitless offencer force" basically is was a complete exodus with unlimited attack points.

I have a crap load of fake Pokemon cards also, just about almost a week ago I was going for a walk and found a pile of fake yugioh cards. I looked through them just to see if their might have been any real ones in the pile and I was able to find 2 of them that looked real so I grabbed them. come to find out only one of them was real.
the 2 cards I found were a dark magician from the original yugi structure deck as ultra rare. the other was a Loki Lord of the aseir as ultra rare from the storms of Ragnarok booster set both 1st Ed.
the dark magician turned out to be fake but, the Loki was real I was able to tell because of the texture and because I remembered how the older Holo inking looked and as If i remember correctly it was darker.
I could tell that the dark magician was fake because the holo printing was all scratched up never on an ultra rare does the holoing ever cover the whole card unless it was ultimate rare.
usually as any rarity goes the Holo is usually centered to the picture but in some cases it does tend to stretch over the entire card.
if the dark magician had been real and if it were in perfect condition it would had been worth money because, of it being a misprint the picture was right but, the back was off shot
the card would had been worth about 90$ if it was real according to the yugioh card market.
