At 2:40 it looked like the hunter used a wire from the slinger to pull himself towards the monster, so maybe they took some inspiration from the Wirebugs and incorprated an additional movement option into the slinger

You can kinda see it with the head, as it's very very flat, and shaped like a lagi's as you said, but I have a feeling it's either Juvenile of a new oasis dwelling subspecies, or a small monster that's a distant relative of Lagiacrus, maintaining the general frame, but swapping power for general survivability in a watering hole.
I wonder if there will be any voice customisation, they wouldn't necessarily need additional voice actors as they could pitch the voices up or down in post-production.
@theorangeman9147 it is a small monster, but the fact that they feel confident enough to showcase it could mean they're just teasing us with large leviathans. Hopefully we'll see more at summer fest.

Wasn’t expected but I’m not complaining! I love the new amphibian monster, seems it will be very goofy. The new fanged beast I’m not 100% there on yet, but I feel when I eventually get to fight it I’ll enjoy it. I was actually predicting they were gonna show the flagship in the first proper trailer, but they didn’t. Though maybe they’re saving that for SGF as it’s the main big one?

I'm calling it right here, opening scene will be a callback to 4u's opening scene. A great sea of sand in, what's potentially, within the opening credits. A potential return of characters from 4u, be it referencial, or just aged versions of them (Gemma, the smithy, being veeery similar to Little Miss Forge, I.E. Yian kut-ku plush, hair color, eye color, goggles, hair tie color, the fact she's a smithy, etc...). We getting at least one of the Mohran's! I hope... Also, Doshaguma, easily the ugliest monster design in the entire series so far.

@@imsirnootnoot I mean trust mean man I hope they delve more into the plot with this one just as much as you (as long as it does not limit us in hunting what we want when we want if you see what I mean).. But if you stick a bunch of Sunbreak cutscenes together, it could make the game's story look much deeper and more developed than it really was.... So I'll stay wary until we get a more concrete look on the plot ^^'

Btw idk if anyone noticed, that gator isn't a gator. That's a baby Lagiacrus, it becomes clearer when you take a closer look at its anatomy, so fingers crossed Lagiacrus is in.
Mayhaps a small monster distantly related to a lagi, or a juvenile version of a subspecies. Notably, it lacks any noticible indentations of his iconic spikes on his back, which would be at least somewhat present with juvis I feel.
I feel like it's just a close relative, like a monoblos is to a diablos, though with a way bigger size difference. It also kind of reminds me of a ludroth.

@thecod2345 pretty sure thats just cope mate. It doesnt have any of the shell shockers Lagiacrus uses to discharge its thunder, its green-ish instead of the blue Lagiacrus is known for, and its far flatter than lagia and lacks the distinct cobra hood Lagiacrus is known for

However the hood definitely is and the coloration we do see aligns in very places. Could very much be cope but it seems similar enough to Lagi that being a juvenile isn’t out of the question.
@thecod2345 I mean the nail in the coffin against your argument is that the Windward Plains (the site confirms the name of the area) is NOT a fluvial environment (as you and me both know, Lagiacrus is nothing if not a wayer-based monster). The ponds of the Windward Plains in no universe can sustain the twenty three meter titans that are Lagiacrus
@@IndominusRex-wc1ey That is a damning point. Maybe it could just be a smaller relative that hints towards Lagi being in a fluvial area, maybe a lake but that’s all guesswork. If it were to be Lagi my best guess would be it having to run from oasis to oasis until it reaches the coast but that’s also a big stretch.

It looks like a regular croc, but when looking closer its a baby lagiacrus.

The graphics are nice, but it looks very generic so far. It lacks the MH aesthetic.
Your eyes clearly need to be checked. The MH aesthethic exists alive and well in this game.
