I'm sorry her mother was abused but her being abused is no justification to allow it to happen to her own daughters. I was molested by my brother and abused by my mother but NO ONE HAS EVER ABUSED my 27 yr old son...Because being his mother and a victim, no survivor, of abuse, I refused to let anyone near him long enough to even think of forming a thought about doing something inappropriate to him. I vowed to love my son beyond measure and to this day I do and he is doing Wonderful. Our relationship is sooo Awesome. It is a choice how you treat people and because of the abuse I endured, I vowed to never let my son feel unloved Period!!!!

Whatever the case may be, it is time for "all" people to heal, forgive, accept responsibility, incorporate therapy, & keep God as the Head of our lives. The healing starts now! It is up to each one of us! Much love & peace! ✌💛✌

@Queen Mercy I'm sorry but this IS true...It's not as though there were counselors and therapists lined up to help these people to mentally and emotionally transition away from slavery. Can you imagine being born into an environment that completely reinforces the idea that you and everyone that looks like you are less than human and deserve nothing but to be used like an animal? How does one's mind psychologically process the idea that you are inherently less than another? How does one psychologically reconcile this to themselves? For their entire lifetime and for generations after? Can you imagine ANY group of people going through that sick nightmare and emerging unscathed?

A mother is just a woman. A woman. A human. We all are full of our crap. It doesn’t excuse what she did - it simply explains it. We attach too much to “mother” - she can only be who she knows herself to be & if she doesn’t who she is - she can be told who she is by those men etc.

My mom chased me out of the house at 19,at 12 midnight, threw my clothes out in the road and mind you we lived in a notorious neighbourhood...REASON: I came from Varsity hungry at 22h30,after cabing home(although we had 3 cars in the house but she told my stepfather not to drop or pick me up),so,I was hungry and I wanted to eat. After taking food, she yelled at me coz nobody should eat till my stepfather comes home(who is always coming as late as 12midnight or 1 am)....my price was being thrown food at,kicked out ...32 years later, am still healing from the emotional neglect, abuse and trauma, yet she behaves like nothing happened....am a trauma breaker,I never want to be like her to my future kids, hence,am willing to heal in Jesus name.

The Black man MUST learn the importance of leading their families. After they learn this, they need to learn how to lead their families, and after they learn how, they MUST learn to impregnate the right kind of woman. Doing these things will insure that children are rightfully protected. In short, Black men need to do their job, take responsibility, and lead. Us men have collectively lost our connection to The Most High. A man can only lead when he is first a follower ... of God.

I’m so happy the mom could apologize and ask for forgiveness. She didn’t blame her girls or not take responsibility for what happened I appreciate her so much for that. Her girls needed that so much from her. That apology was needed!

"Mother" is name of God on the lips and hearts of all children. I heard this line in the movie The Crow and I have never forgotten it. I am far, far from perfect but nobody will ever come between me and my babies. They come first until the day they are able to fully take care of themselves.

I never related to a phrase so much. Who wants to say they hate their mother. It took me a long time to get past the hate unfortunately I no longer see my mother as my mother.

🙏🏾🙏🏾 for you love, just curious do you desire any relationship with your mom, these girls were me only to the parts that my mother suffered this from her mother and it crippled her to honestly not know how to be a mother to my brothers & I, my son being born 17 yrs ago gave her a reality check & allowed us to grow some form of a relationship i didn’t think would ever exist...sorry so long

Juscam until my mom can address her own trauma I don’t think we’ll ever be close. I’ve attempted multiple times, then I tried twice with a therapist and she just deflects and starts crying about her past. I love her but there’s only so much I can do.

This was a good one. This healed my pain since my mother lacked the tools to stand on her own and be the great mom she was deep down. The best thing about this episode is that they were all open to healing, the mother allowed herself to be vulnerable. That is the first step.
