I'm sure in the comments somewhere, your followers have mentioned that since you have so much yarn and more to come, that maybe you could do a large blanket and four smaller ones for the boys to have as keepsakes as well❓❗️ Just love following you guys cause you keep it short but pack a lot into it. Please be safe on the roads and where ever you go and we'll be watching❤️😊😊‼️
THAT is a great idea!
Lol great minds think alike
Oh that is so cool that you are collecting yarn from each State and knitting them together to make a blanket. That will be treasured for years to come along with the wonderful memories. When my husband and I travel to a new State, I collect that State spoon as well as collector spoons from different countries. As you know, the hunt for them is half the fun!! :) God bless your travels and be safe :)
I live in Nevada now and every time I cross the border I can feel the difference in the air, Oregon air just feels like Home!
Now I’m going to have to look up Mountain Rose Herbs!
Do it! Their products are wonderful.
I love Malabrigo. I haven't been in a yarn shop in more than 2 years. *sigh*
Honestly, I hadn't either until this trip. I never had time!
How did I NOT know Mountain Rose Herbs had a B&M store?! I've been buying bulk from them for 12 years!!! Herbals, coffee, then yarn?! You are my people. Helps we share the same name. ;-) Maybe OR is where we were meant to be. LOL
I buy from them too! I had no idea they had that store!
Oh it's wonderful. It's SO wonderful!! And we really loved Oregon, but I don't think it's a place we'll land.
God your fantastic family remind me so much of our family as we grow there was 7 kids and my mom and dad and the hours I used to spend sat in front of mom as she won't the arm off my hands it brings back so many memories keep putting out the great vids and god bless you all stay safe
What a beautiful memory! ❤
Oxtail soup is so good. Haven't had any in a while, thanks for the dinner idea. Also, I cry when I cut onions. Don't know why they make me sad.
Love the blanket your doing! I'd make everyone of the kids a blanket to! It is nice to have a clean car or RV. Dinner really looked good!
I don’t think I have enough yarn for that, but that might be a possibility!
Make 2 blankets. 1 to keep for all the great memories for you and the family and another with a written note of the places that you got each yarn. The 2nd blanket could be put up on an online auction so a lucky winner can also share some memories. Just a thought :)
Ooooh, I LOVE that idea!! That would be so much fun!
That 's great Meg have you thought about making a blanket for each boy to remember the travels like a for keepsakes, I was just thinking . love the video and God Bless
A lot of people have mentioned that! Now I am hoping I have enough yarn for that.
Great to see glimpses of home. Yay, more yarn. I do love Eugene.
We have stayed in this park too. I love the lush green of OR.
Lush! Yes, that’s the best way to describe it.
I'm here crocheting with cheap yarn as I watch you going to all these amazing yarn stores & buying luscious yarn. I heard someone say, "the more expensive the paper the longer it takes to draw the first line." I have some gorgeous silk & bamboo yarn that's been sitting for years because I don't have a great plan & I'm afraid to mess it up. I'm loving watching all the cool yarn stores that you found along your journey!
I have had that same problem with nice, expensive yarn!
That is going to be a cool blanket.
...saw the title to this video in your queue...and I just had to stay up [12:19am e.s.t.] to o watch this video before I crawl into bed...
☕.....yaaaaas....coffee...
well DANG' it... now i absolutely HAVE to come to oregon...😁
the hollar roamstead blanket is looking FABULOUS (@this point) and in my opinion...BIGGER is ALWAYS best! ❤️my insapot.
btw ALL the boys are getting SO good at filming/narrating
Steve so pretty! Such yummy looking food! Yarn!!!! Always yarn!!!
Here's an idea for the longer pieces that you made. Use them as borders.
Hope you are writing down which yarn for which state and why you chose that color for that state. Maybe glue yarn sample on page with description. You will forget. Maybe seven blankets? You have time to make that decision. “Happy trails to you”.... TFS
I am! Because my brain doesn't work these days lol. I keep each tag, write the color on it, maybe tie a small piece of yarn to it, and stick it in the state page in our scrap book.
you should get a bottle of browning and put it in with the oxtail
Maybe take some scrap yarn (very small pieces) and frame it.
That would be so perfect to hang in the next place!
Yum coffee!
The adventures of Steve and Sasquatch continue
Hahahaha yesssss... I feel like that could be a whole movie on it's own lol.
you should make 5 of them one for ech boy and one for you and hubby
We love our instant pot!
I can't live without it now.
What about 50 granny squares blanket. Or Make a blanket for each of your boys to have
I was thinking that I should have recommended Soft Horizons to you, but it looks like you found it! 😉
I couldn’t remember if they carried local yarns as it has been a few years since I have gone that far for yarn.
I didn't see any local yarns, the one I got was a Malabrigo. But I loved the shop itself!
I just saw your next video in Newport. There is a yarn shop in downtown Corvallis with local yarn (or at least they had local when I went in there with my mother-in-law a couple years ago).
Couldnt you make multiple blankets like maybe one for a king sized bed and one for each of your sons to fit a twin to commemorate your trip that way you wouldnt waste the yarn.
Them darn onions...
I love this store. What was the name again?
Mountain Rose Herbs
@@TheHollarHomestead I love using natural herbal teas.
How much do you think the blanket might shrink ?
Are you going to use blk yarn to write the name of the state in each block? Just thinking if it gets handed dwn other generations won't know which state they're from.
I was thinking I would get some white fabric tags and either stitch the names on that, or write them with a wash-safe marker and attach it to the back of each block.
I know this an older video but did get any yarn from Mississippi?
Sadly no, after North Carolina I had a hard time finding yarn shops. I’ll have to order the rest of the states yarns.
When you get a post office address I'll send Mississippi's to you!
That's so sweet of you, thank you!
