So after a bit of mistreatment, True Colors is FINALLY HERE! Filled with laughs, action, and A LOT of pain! The girls have fully charged the Calamity Box and have returned to Newtopia. Will Sasha and Grime's plan to overthrow King Andrias come to light? What was the proposition that Andrias had for Marcy? Is he actually evil? How does Anne's gem being not fully charged come into play? So many questions and they are answered here! But I am left with one big question... Where does the show go after this!?

Always assume that there will be an extreme scene and that’s your clue to realize. Hey! A warning first. That means something dark is coming. There has to be a bonus scene. I should watch the credits too.

I watched by accident and to be honest, I think waiting to see if she was dead or alive actually made me more engaged in theories and stuff. Think about it: all we had to go off of was the ending, not the post credit scene, the mystery of what was going to happen next was so captivating to me.
@@chronickpain i think they should have waited with showing the season 3 intro. But because of leaks they kinda had to, but i think if they showed the intro like one month before season 3 came out they could have created more hype
I watched the leaks on purpose because I didn’t want to be spoiled and I’ll tell you what, having to wait those 3 weeks was torture for my soul not being able to talk about it at all.
The show did a great job making me despise Andrias more than any villain anywhere.
The fact that he is so casual and uncaring when trying to murder multiple children makes my blood boil.
Then he manipulated and stabbed Marcy, and then blamed her for own death: “Now look at what you made me do.” No one made him do anything. No one made him reveal Marcys secret. But he did it anyway, and delighted in watching her break emotionally. No one made him drop Sprig.
I watch Anne tear him apart on repeat as my way to cope with the finale now.
I curious about this "betrayal" he had to his former friends? I doubt it will try to redeem him but still, would be a better understanding for what he did afterward!
In a age of a lot of "bad guys with good objectives but going too far" as villains, I love how hateble Andrias is.
This took an interesting turn..
When King Andrias said that his ancestors were conquers, the first thing that came to my mind was Omniman.
Andrias is no king, he's a BRUTE. A true leader is supposed to serve his people, he only serves HIMSELF
Felt really bad for the Newtopians as they were attacked relentlessly by the toads, and once the day was "saved" their king flies into the sky causing catastrophic damage to their city.

Pretty sure Andrias is just being manipulated himself. Yeah, it doesn't excuse what he's done, but it may explain WHY.

How can a 22 min episode hit so hard emotionally?
A talented and passionate creative team can shine through their limitations
The tapestry reveal was a bit lazy, but it was probably done weirdly to save time as a necessary measure.
An alternative take is that it was meta commentary to lampshade just how obvious the reveal of Andrias being evil to us, since we all saw it coming before The First Temple.
It may even serve as symbolism to show that the characters definitely should have realized the King was evil. If anyone had taken two seconds to think about it, they might think “would a benevolent ruler really allow a system that enforces a race based hierarchy, maintained with violence, to exist.” I mean, Sasha finds out literally the second she looks around and Anne says something along the lines of:” We were so focused on fighting each other, we missed what was right in front of us.”
But I’m probably just overthinking it
Yeah like I said in the discussion Sasha and Grime kind of joke about it immediately after so it doesn't bother me all that much, but I still felt it was worth pointing out.
As much as I love the show I still want to be fair and point out flaws!
I like your idea about it being some sort of meta thing as well, hadn't considered that!
I'm pretty sure Andrias has some sort of mandate related to tapestries as we've seen that isn't the only thing hidden by them. Remember the entrance to the secret library?

The Thing about Sasha is she really always thought she was doing what was best for Anne as seen in Battle Of The Bands. She never tried to hurt any of Anne’s family during the rebellion attempt. Plus what was she supposed to do abandon Grime and the Tod Armies? And the Moment where Anne said she didn’t want to be her friend anymore really hurt her. You can see it in her face that she felt really hurt by Anne’s words
Sasha was controlling, but always in a way she thought would benefit her friends. The problem is she didn’t stop to think about how her fiends would feel about this.

Sasha did say: "And once we rule Amphibia, I'll get this friendship under control." In other words, Grimes gets his authoritarian rule over Amphibia, while Sasha gets full control over her friendship back. But as seen in True Colours, even if she manages to get what she wanted, "Rule a Kingdom" as she stated, she doesn't know what's next for her. Her goals and life feel empty without Anne and Marcy.

The most heartbreaking scene in true colors.
Frobo can probably be rebuilt. Marcie on life support is both reassuring and depressing to watch.
The episode was great. Some things were a little too convenient and the episode probably needed five more minutes, but it was great. Imo, the best episode, after Reunion.

Flash forward to Anne at the end of Season 3 Episode 1 after her powers taking a lot out of her "Now can someone open the door? I'm trying to move my arms and nothing is happening."
I know this is a pretty weak comparison but I thought of that Anne line after hearing that.

Chef's kiss
This may be crazy, but I think Amphibia is up there with Gravity Falls. I think Bill was a much better villain, but you couldn’t really hate him. He was too charismatic and to be honest, he didn’t really have much of an impact. He messed up the town for a while, but he was ultimately defeated and everything was just same old, same old. (Honestly think he might come back in this now, but oh well.)
Andrias is much more hateable and has bigger impacts. He “killed” off two of the main cast. Frobo and Marcy. Literally he got rid of season 2 additions. I’m really interested in how the story will progress and kind of bummed they didn’t bring Sasha or Grime with them, but it’s fine. Great show!

Yeah, I think my only real nitpick right now is that Frobo hasn't gotten enough focus throughout the season to really cement his place in the group or give his death much impact. Though it's obvious they're going to try and rebuild him, so maybe they just didn't want to have it take too much focus away from other major events.
Everything with Marcy floored me though. The way that her desire for escapism with games/fiction ties into the wish fulfilment fantasy she got in Amphibia. The way her anxieties and fear of being alone builds off of how desperately afraid she is of losing Anne and Sasha to the point where she wants them to abandon the idea of home. And it all culminates in her being stabbed through the heart while believing that her only friends probably hated her in the end for her mistakes. I hope she gets another chance at things next season, cause damn... What an unapologetically dire note to leave things on...
We finally got that Sprig VS Grime right that was in the pilot intro of “Amphibiland” with Weed (prototype Sprig) VS Grime. (Too bad we didn’t get the Sprig VS Sasha fight)

This make me excited for future episodes not just for Amphibia, but for Disney Channel entirely. Amphibia creators showed Disney that stuff like Marcy's death a special thing they could use for other shows like Big City Greens, Owl House, and maybe even Bunk'd. Amphibia just brought Disney Channel into a new era.

It was so natural and hyp
I felt your excitement at your face, you were so happy watching that made me happy to re-watch and even laugh. Your "Don't give me hope, show" and when you gave the finger to Sasha killed me.
Your laugh when they revealed that he was evil with the tapestry already said all about how cheap it was XDDD.
Your face looking at Marcy confessing was the same of the characters, you were so abashed that you even shaked your head just like Anne.
The super proud "ANNEEEE" when she smashed Andrias was also perfect XDDD.
I even appreciated your sad puppy face as the episode ended, and the next day you were wearing black and white, like you were mourning. *chefs kiss*
I had to make a long comment just to express how much I liked it, its not often that you see someone so into it, that they even move according to the show

Dude! Your prediction is spot on again! They literally get sent to earth and it seems S3 is focused on Anne and the rest of the plantars on earth! (Yes I consider Anne a Plantar. She is part of the family after all). Except it wasn’t Marcy and Sasha.
I get the feeling this was drafted as a 44-minute episode, but Disney wouldn't give them the timeslot, so they had to crunch everything to an insanely fast pace and the abrupt cliffhanger was a cruel side effect.
I wonder if Lady Olivia and Yunan will remain loyal to Andrias, after learning what his true intentions were

The thing is I like how Frobo is like Polly’s little brother and everything but he really didn’t appear that much. Hopefully someone can repair Frobo during season 3 and hopefully not too late into the season.

When Anne went beast mode the background music is similar to no big deal played in the other episode battle of the bands and she is technically using half her power because she has half blue in the second “temple” there was half in her eyes

I think the tapestry could've been revealed when Grime and Sasha explore somewhere deeper or abandoned in the castle where the king forgot or didn't bother to get rid of some sketchy stuff but they probably didn't have enough time to do that
even tho the box is still in Amphibia he said that anne is connected to the stone and this is a problem for him so he have to kill her so he is gonna look for her and go to her world
Also one thing I’m wondering is that is Season 3 going to have 20 half hour blocks like the first 2 or will there be more? (I consider each 11 “segment” an episode. So true colors makes episode 75)

this season finale is Great and emotional
In my personal opinion this has got to be one of the most intense finales for a season out of any other Disney show that I've watched.
I don’t believe that Amphibia ever revealed who Dr. P actually was (not even in Marcy’s Journal) so my head cannon is that it was an older Dipper who studied the box but couldn’t do anything with it (since he isn’t part of the Olm’s prophecy). Speaking of GF, I also believe that the person who figured out how to bring Rumble McSkirmish to life was a Glitch Tech.

This episode was amazing the only thing I would’ve changed is when we saw the flashback with Marcy like we all saw it coming but it would’ve been nice if they didn’t reveal it immediately and the reveal would be more sentimental like the reveal was still super good but if they didn’t tell us it would’ve been even better

The mural thing (which BTW reminds me a little of Thor: Ragnarok doing a similar thing) is a bit sloppy, although it highlights two things: first, Andrias at heart is a vicious, brutish bully who must have hated having to pretend to be gentle and kind, and is proud of his conquering past so he’d never destroy this (and it reminds him of the “good days”); second, Sasha realises ghat she dod the right thing but for the wrong reasons, and it flips things with her and Anne with her unable to convince her of the truth until it’s too late... justifiably.
Amphibia would be so much cooler if it was anime
