- In today's episode of Filmi Ladies, we continue discussing the Kapoor family. We've previously done episodes on Prithviraj Kapoor and his three sons - Raj, Shammi and Shashi. We now move on to the next generation - Raj's sons Randhir and Rajiv, plus we also discuss Babita Shivdasani, an actor and star in her own right before she became Randhir's wife and a Kapoor bahu. [Note: Pitu's phone initially autocorrected "bahu" to "baguette."]
Films discussed: Farz (1967), Jawani Deewani (1972), Haath Ki Safai (1974), Ram Teri Ganga Maili (1985), and Prem Granth (1996), plus another splash of Kal Aaj Aur Kal.
What are your thoughts on Randhir, Rajiv and Babita?

Even though none of these Kapoors are in it, do watch the super cute Upar Wale Teri Duniya Mein from Haath Ki Safai starring the great character actor Satyen Kappu. • Upar Wale Teri Duniya ...

I mean, I know parents are supposed to resemble their biological children but Babita Ji in the ‘70s LOOKS EXACTLY like Karisma in the ‘90s. Also, the only time we saw Karisma in period outfits was in a fashion show but I want a whole show/movie dedicated to it.
Imagine if she was in ‘Qala’ or ‘Jubilee’.
I've literally seen some photos of Babita where I thought it was Karisma in a retro look. I had to do a double take to realize who it was! Uncanny resemblance.
I did love her in Zubeidaa, she looked lovely in her Rajasthani outfits and the retro sarees and blouses with red lip and curls in her hair. - Pitu
50:40 1. @Beth please watch Namak Haram starring Amitabh, Rajesh Khanna. I think it was Raza Murad's debut film.
2. Ram Teri Ganga Maili is a gross version of the mythological story Dushyant Shakuntala. Nobody should watch it.
3. Rajeev Kapoor was treated horribly by his father for reasons unknown. Everything you speculated about how would Raj react if Randhir had taken directorial projects outside RK, happened in case of Rajeev Kapoor.
I did not know this about Raj and Rajiv's relationship. Why, tho??? Do you know? - Pitu
