- The all new FX Maverick Compact in .25 cal is here! What happens when you mash up an FX Impact MKII and FX Wildcat MKIII then sprinkle in a bunch of innovation? You get one of the most powerful and versatile Airguns EVER!
Here are some quick data points from my testing:
* Regulated at 150 bar in 500mm barrel compact form
* 850 FPS 34 grain FX Pellets
* 925 FPS 25.4 grain FX Pellets (Tuned down to 905 for best accuracy)
* Getting around 60-70 shots per full 250 bar fill with 25.4 grain pellets
* FX Smooth Twist X Superior Liner to shoot both pellets and slugs, but I will be showing slug performance in the upcoming Sniper configuration video
* I am getting Extreme Spreads consistently below 10 FPS across an entire 16 shot magazine!
***********************************************************
Some are calling the FX Maverick the love child of the FX Impact and FX Wildcat, but there is some DNA of the FX Dreamline in here as well. But it is the new features ONLY found in the FX Maverick that makes this airgun one of the most consistent and accurate airguns I have have ever shot. PERIOD.
I've spent the last week testing this thing and all I can say is WOW! There are so many things I want to show you about the FX Maverick from the dual regulators and the MASSIVE 89cc Power Plenum. In this video I cover why the new dual regulator system is a game changer. Especially here in Michigan where our temperatures are often below freezing for a good part of the year. Regulator creep can really mess up your shot groups and I talk about how the dual regulator system is an answer to this problem.
As always, I want to show how fun these guns are to shoot and the FX Maverick did not disappoint. As a demonstration of the accuracy and consistent pellet on pellet performance, my good buddy Rick Rehm from Shooter1721 threw down a Cranberry Sauce challenge that I just couldn't resist. If you don't like canned jellied cranberry sauce, make sure to watch till the very end and check out my FX Cranberry Sauce recipe with a little help from some of my air gunner buddies Keith and Norm at 68 Whiskey. Make sure to subscribe and follow me for more recipes! Спорт
I've been into air guns for many years, this set up is my most sought out set up! FX is nailing it lately, just a perfect set up there. Good for soooo many types pesting/hunting!
Excellent !!
Thanks for another awesome video buddy. Keep these coming.
I really love pcp gun but my country does not allow me to have one. So every night before sleep i always watch air gun vids . I really hope one day i can get one . 🙃
Where are you from ?
@@alexthonboluthon1122 im from malaysia

Dopeness. Nicely demonstrated Chris.
Great shooting Chris and that gun rocks
Love the footage dude,, the fx are awesome guns😊👌🇬🇧❤️
Thanks brother. Iam considering this, or the Impact Compact as my next purchase. 👍💯
Great video Chris, very informative as usual.....
Excellent shots
Great video brother, lots of work.
Very nice! Great shooting. Mine ships Friday, compact .30!
Great video Chris. You’re the man.
Proper use of “you’re” appreciation right here. ;)
Great video. I was really pleased with my WC MKIII until I saw this Maverick. I see you’re using the Air Venturi on 12V there - I love mine. Just hope it holds up. Thanks for the excellent review.
Sick shooting bro!!The maverick Looks BadAss!!And Hot Damn those 5 cranberry shots were Impressive!!Didn't even Touch the Tee!👌✌
Great video buddy 😊. That gun rocks
Nicely done.
It’s a really nice FX air rifle. I have an Impact MK II, which is very accurate. The Maverick seems really accurate from all he videos I’ve watched. Next year I’ll get one. Meanwhile I’ll just watch everyones videos.
Really enjoy your video’s....
Thanks 🙏
Hi Sir. Excellent review, I love the simplicity of tuning the Maverick . I have a mk1 Crown in 25 high power (Fac) in the UK. The guns lovely to shoot and I get around 80/90 shots @894 FPS for 25.4g JSB.
I like the look of the Maverick in the compact version, it’s shorter than my Crown, easier handling and having a big enough shot count for what I need. After watching your review I think my mind is made up 👍 Crown for sale. Thanks good stuff. 🇬🇧
Love your channel, Try this, 5 cranberries 25 yards, off hand, no bipod HINT; use low power on your scope, makes it easier. Its harder than you think.
good luck.
great shooting I thank I found my next gun . Roy
Dude that gun is a shooter I just ordered mine in.25
Parabéns pela performance no tiro ao alvo
What could you effectively hunt with this gun and out to what range?
Thanks and great review.
Excellent, thank you
Excellent airgun..
Only reason I wouldn't want this gun is the 2 regulators! ...I just got a WildCat MKIII from Utah Airguns & the AMP regulator took a crap after 2 weeks! I replaced it with a Huma & it's shooting great now, but I wouldn't want to replace 2 of them!!!
Thanks for the video & I enjoyed the shooting a lot! Peace!
Great shooting local & excellent marksmanship. I’d love to see that pellet or slug in super slow mo, not sure what you were using on the 5 cranberries. Bet that would be an explosive impact. 🧂🇺🇸🗽🇺🇸🧂
im still laughing brother. I absolutely love this video man. you out did yourself with this one. im going to definitely have to get one of these mavericks for sure lol
Thanks Norm!!!!! The Whiskey 🥃 helped! 😉
@@UpNorthAirGunner glad you like it my friend
Heck cranberry sauce/jelly is crazy good, love the stuff!!! Lol
So I do pest control around a golf course I'm normally 60 or more yards off the course shooting away from the course.
Been using a maruader with a donny. Would this work sound wise similar
Good afternoon, buddy. I am Ricardo Ávila from Portugal and I follow your channel that is excellent! I want to ask you a question: What is the most powerful FX in joules in Cal.22, Impact or Marverick? Thank you very much, my friend.
nice job Chris! better than the impact? was considering a 30 compact .....
Love the let's get it on bit , you got this English man laughing.
Awesome!!! Can't wait til my Sniper 25 arrives and I can make some cranberry sauce myself! Now if I can just get Keith and Norm to send some .68 Whiskey lol
I highly recommend a road trip to New York to visit their distillery! SOOOOOOOO GOOOOOD!

That "Airgun_hub" got me good...🤣
LOL! So funny! Thanks for watching!
I got to tell you. I really like that double regulator. It's speaking me.
It’s the next step. Honestly surprised I never thought about this. Now imagine...TRIPLE regulators lol. That would be something.
FX had issue with the regulators with the first shot being off according to the forums. Maybe this addresses that issue? This video didn't provide any data to substantiate the marketing slide at 8:20.
Looking to buy my first PCP. Is this the airgun I should purchase? Is the technology over a nubs head? Which online retailer is the best to go through since there are no airgun shops in Nebraska... Thanks for any input !
Man bows eye Everytime
wow nice ser❤❤
Is 945fps too fast for the 34 grain fx pellets? 25 cal maverick sniper. Do I need to drop it down to 920 ish?
Will a 480cc or 580cc bottle fit with the Tatsu moderator?
Me encantó ya quiero mi fx maverick
The fact that FX comes up with these innovations without utilizing the use of batteries/dc power makes it a desirable/preferable item for all air gunner enthusiasts...to throw their $$$$ for one....👍
Marketing 101.
@@allanwind295 Hmmmm.... So are you saying dual regulators and larger plenum space is just a marketing ploy?
@@UpNorthAirGunner It wasn't actually meant as a diss. FX is good at marketing compared to the rest of the airgun industry. Innovation is great, but for me it's important to separate technical improvements that benefit the shooter from marketing. So what I am saying, or rather asking, what actually matters in practice? If I was in the market for this vs the Impact (FX is positioning it as a new platform like the Impact), I would want to know if they reduced the number of o-rings compared to the Impact (which is notorious for having a lot and hence higher risks of leaking over time).
(a) The marketing claim for dual regulators was that they are more durable and more consistent. I have owned a Taipan Veteran for a little over a year, and I have no issues with the single regulator on either point. FX had problems with reliability of the pre-AMP regulators, and I don't pay enough attention if the shifting POI for the first shot is an issue with the pre-AMP or the AMP regulators. This is what I read on forums, btw, and FX is selling a lot of guns so there will be more issues reported. I haven't seen any chronograph data to support the consistency claim, but I am sure someone will measure and publish it soon. As long as regulator is reliable, however, the only thing that matters after that is consistent of your groups. The groups you demonstrated were good, but we need larger groups and comparable data (i.e. ideally same shooter and ideal conditions) to tell if it's an improvement. My claim, and I could be wrong, is that the gun is about as accurate as what you get from Air Arms, Brocock/Daystate, existing FX, or RAW.
(b) "Larger plenum" affords you two benefits more power if you shoot heavy slugs, or more efficiency at lower power particular for pellets. _I_ don't know if larger is always better. I don't shoot slugs, but improved efficiency is always welcomed to me. No data was provided to show that it it's better than, say, the Impact or Wildcat. This is not necessarily a critique of you Chris, but that's the data I would want to look at.
Matt covers some of this in ruclips.net/video/pKC64drC0iU/видео.html
Hi. What reg pressure you have on your maverick
Nice
What you set up speed for fx m3 barrel 500mm with slug 20gr?
Dude! That sexy moment was epic!
Yeah...cranberry jell is soooo freaking nasty. Some people love it but yeah...makes a great target too. Love the technology behind the dual regulator. Wonder if that means we can fill the gun to 300 Bar and get more shots?
The max fill pressure is still 250 bar, but this technology though could be applied to a 300 bar set up if the first reg is rated for that pressure. But just a thought and nothing official from FX.
I really have to say some words.First grate gun great shooting great shooter and videos
Second, unless there is a build in lever in the scope I recommend always have one over the scope and before shots ensure that u are always levered maybe some of these flyers are from tilted position according the others.
third, for a gun with double regulator with what ever this means in service and cost and possible bigger chances to malfunctions, I would expecting pellet on pellet nothing less.Fx must stop making the same gun at a point presenting it as a new gun all over net.Enough with those bullpubs airguns all companies abandoned really fashion good airguns
I own Fx I like them
Keep going sir
I wish FX had a gun that would allow the scope to be mounted much closer to the barrel to allow less hold over for close range shots. Even the Crown demands high mounts to clear the magazine.
Do you know about if i can buy this and have it shipped to me in canada
Nice review and shooting Chris. I like the looks of this shooter and it appears to be high performance as well as high tech for the average guy. Price point seems awesome to the point that a guys may wait 2 frikin years for one.....LOL. Will this platform spit the velocities that an Impact will?
From out early testing and the data FX is giving us, it looks to be as powerful as an Impact in stock form, but I have a theory this platform has even MORE room to grow with heavier slugs and liners to be able to push that larger ammo.
That’s pretty slick to be able to take out cranberries at 50yds with a pellet. Air rifle tech has come a looong way over the recent years. Great vid 👍🏼
I’m trying to decide between the Mavericks and the impact. Do you think for the Extra 3 hundred dollars it’s worth getting the impact. Or in your opinion, do you think the Maverick is a better rifle? Thanks for the great video.
Fred
Does it really need a suppressor on it? Or is it really that loud?
Man that hard
Ilike the PCP Air gun complete set how much is price
cool
On Black Friday all the FX Mavericks videos bombarded me and I had to add it to the family. Christmas came early.
Now that is a perfect addition to the Christmas wish list!
Sonho de consumo
Gots to get one of throes
What moderator is on it ?
Why are pellet guns so hard to get right now I want a maverick so bad :(
Fx 👑👑👑👑👑
if two regulators and two air gauges how do know how filled your tank is? A third gauge is needed...
Nope. The first gauge is for the tank. The second is foe the second regulator before the plenum. You don’t need to know the pressure really of the first regulator other than it’s between your fill pressure and regulated shooting pressure.
@@UpNorthAirGunner hmmmm... well it obviously it works but for fine tuning 3rd one seems to be a good idea. Thanks for vid!
you think the maverick compact makes a great wood walker?
In the 500mm barrel kit - HECK YES!

Show!!!!!
Enjoyed every minute of it Chris. FX="Always Innovating"! Hate Cranberry anything. Drink the Whisky and throw away the damned Cranberry!!! Or just shot the hell out of it!!! ;
Thanks Knife! Ya - this thing is super quiet! I noticed that too how the shot report seemed "different" very muted. This DonnyFL TATSU was taken off the Wildcat MKIII and put it on the Maverick and they both are super quiet, but I did notice a tone difference lower with the Maverick. Maybe the larger plenum and new valving?
Todos atiradores gostaria de ter uma desta
Hey bro are they gonna bring the 35 cal to this airgun?
I hope so!
Great information n very convincing but for me m done with any FX gun the most complicated pcp ever made on the planet,no doubt the most accurate gun ever . If we are talking about of double regulator ,double plenum etc etc it means double trouble for me.
Cpc fx muito linda
Chris...brother, what is with this unhealthy relationship you have with fruit? Just kidding! Great video!
😂😂😂 You have a point. I need help.
Saya suka saya suka,,,,,

Mantap
Can up change calibers?
100% and is quite easy to do. Just swap out the barrel and the probe and a quick regulator adjustment. I plan on doing a caliber swap to .22 and .30 soon.
BELI NYA DI MANA 🙏🇮🇩
MOHON PETUNJUK KK🙏
How do you fill the bottle
I use a Nomad 2 portable
compressor.
Ah yes, the holiday cranberry gel. It's right up there with fruit cake. The gel splatters much better though, and the rain will wash it away. It's an airgunners utopia. The Maverick seems to be an FX homerun, and the VP model has an attractive price.
Hate that stuff! Thanks for watching!
Bos mantep banget👍👍
That double reg has just sold be one. Ordered yesterday!
Ordered mine Black Friday sniper 30.
What caliber did you order?
@@stedyone1090 .22 600mm barrel
@@easternblocairguns2728 I already have a Huben K1 in 22 pre ordered.
Here for hogs I like 30 cal.
I don't know buddy!!! One reg. Is driving me crazy... No excuses for a two regulator gun having two flyers....then what was the reason for the second reg.?
What issues are you having with your single regulator?
I set it at 140 but it keeps going up at 160 just when the battle air passion is beyond 180 bar.
airguns in my mind Sounds like you’re getting regulator creep for sure. Try to switch to the HUMA regulator.
Yes ,I thinks so too... regulator creep.
Actually I had a spear huma regulator and I just installed it yesterday but I haven't tried it yet.
barapa harga..?
🙏🙏🙏🙏fx
In EU those FX prices are ridiculous high. 2000 euro and nothing extra. The maverick sniper is nice, but not for many.
Use some double sided tape to hold them on next time.
🤣😅😂💀 the fire and romantic music
😍😍😍😍👏👏👏👍
One thing I don't understand is why the are max fill pressures still relatively low for todays compressors and carbon fiber fill tanks? Why not make it 300 bar instead of 250? Wouldn't that give more shots before having to add air? All with the same size bottle? Kinda like free extra shots. Especially on this gun with dual regulators and high air requirements. I mean nobody says you have to put int 300, you can still put in 250 if that's your thing. Seems frustratingly obvious to me. I bet if the PCP Industry stays unregulated (no pun intended) you will see increasingly higher output compressors and tank ratings maybe up to 10,000 psi. Hydraulics commonly go up to that pressure already in jacks and presses. etc.
This tank is only rated for 250 bar. With this dual regulators it would be an advantage to be able to hold back 300 bar for sure to avoid reg creep.
How much this air gun

😍👍❤️🤗👌

What? What's wrong with you people? Jellied cranberry sauce is the bomb! Oh well - I digress. Can you explain a bit about your Nomad air pump? I see you had it filling directly into the gun? Can that pump be used to fill a 7 liter carbon fiber fill bottle? What's best: direct fill into the gun or fill a bottle first, then attach the bottle to the gun? Any advantages one way or the other? Thanks for posting; I am planning my first purchase soon, so I am trying to get all of my newbie questions answered. Do you want me to send you a case of jellied cranberry sauce?
👏👏👏👏👏👌👍😊
so basically an updated wildcat then

FX imbatível!!!!!
Sorry but nothing different.. i want to see crony numbers, talk about more constant shots but, what about the crony numbers?
In my follow-up video I will show full shot strings, but I am getting consistently below 10 FPS Extreme Spread shooting unsorted pellets over an entire magazine. I have other regulated guns where even after tuning and tinkering getting them into a 12-15 FPS ES range is good. So just out of the box, I am seeing this gun perform with really tight ES shot strings.
@@UpNorthAirGunner My impact all huma tuning have less of 8 in .30 but not out the box.
Thanks for the answer.
@@tomlpnexus Ya me to on my Huma and SPAW tuned Impact in .30 cal. He got that thing REALLY dialed in. I'm just overall impressed with the out of box performance in this thing. I just swapped out the barrel kit to the 700mm Sniper and will head out today to see how it does.
@@UpNorthAirGunner Looking forward to seeing new videos of what that rifle is capable in general, thanks for these videos and tips.
