- From Season 6 of Walt Disney's Disneyland Anthology program we have Episode 3: Killers of the High Country which originally aired on October 16th, 1959. This episode tells the story of the mountain lions and their attempt to coexist with humans in their rapidly diminishing home in the Rocky Mountains. People are not their only worry, for as the story begins, two young cubs narrowly escape the claws of a Golden eagle. Chimbica and Tawny race for the safety of their den, where an angry mother helps drive away the hungry bird.
Great twist on typical westerns. That hunter was a superb horseman, galloping through every bush and bramble, scurrying up and down rocky hills. I'm glad that out of that cat family, at least Tawny survived - and kept on the line of mountain lions for the future.
Few things more amazing than the instincts for living in the wild that all of these animals possess. It’s fascinating to see them cheat death again and again.
I'm sooooo happy I found your channel! I'm 65 and every Sun night I religiousy watched Walt Disney. I'm an animal lover so this was my animal go to. Along with Wild Kingdom, Daktari, etc.

Yes, I definitely remember Charlie and Lonesome cougar. That was awesome. You can still find it on RUclips.
