    Why can't there be good shows like this on TV these days? I LOL a whole bunch with this movie! Those dogs are a hoot! We used to have a Boston Terror that would get in his blanket. He was the best little dog.

    Slim Pickens sure had some nice looking horses this one looks quite similar to the bucking horse in The Big Country.

    • @christhompson3750
      @christhompson3750 Год назад +1

      It is the same horse. That's Dear John. He also rode him in the movies that he was in with Rex Allen.

  • @christhompson3750
    @christhompson3750 Год назад +4

    Slim Pickens, that's Dear John he is riding. He trained that horse to buck on que. He was the same horse that they used in the scene where Gregory Peck tried to ride Old Thunder in The Big Country.

    I've seen a Brahmer bull jump a 5 strand barb wire fence from a standstill. They're real hotblooded and can get riled up.

      You'd rile up too, if your predecessors had to fight off 600 lbs Bengal tigers and leopards almost as large.

    My husbands name was Alton Ray but because he was 6ft 3 inches tall and weighed only about 185 pounds everybody that he worked with called him Slim. They wouldn’t have known who they were talking about if we called him Alton Ray, only his family called him by his full name and I and our friends just called him Ray. We named our oldest daughter Julie Rayshel and we just call her Rayshel. However, when she enrolled in school the teacher called her Julie. Consequently, everyone who doesn’t know that we call her Rayshel is surprised 😲 when they call and ask to speak to Julie and we tell Rayshel that someone wants to talk to her on the phone. 😅😅😅😅

    I used to breed and show Australian Shepherds, and it is such a treat to see them! Usually they get overlooked in favor of the Border Collie (a worthy opponent), but Aussies have their own herding style, and it's fun to watch. ETA: When Aussies started showing up at the pound (they can be a real handful with the wrong owners) I quit breeding and went into rescue. Now I do all-breed rescue full time, and discourage buying from breeders as much as possible.

    So the first part filmed in rural California was in 1957, and the part in Idaho is 1974?
    I didn't think that the young lady's hairstyle, in particular fit with the broadcast date.

    My daughter-in-law had a tiny 3 legged chihuahua she had adopted from the animal shelter. She named her Daisy. They didn’t know how her leg had gotten broken but whoever she had belonged to had wrapped the broken leg so tightly that it had cut the circulation off so the rescue people had to remove it. When she would go outside to pee she could still lift her leg to do her business. It looked so funny. 😅😅😅My daughter-in-law was a law enforcement officer 👮‍♀️ officer and an animal rescue officer also. They had a horse that had been abused by not feeding him enough. He’s ribs were showing so much that he looked like and skeleton. 😢😢😢I can’t imagine how a person could abuse an animal that way. I read one time that some people would get rescue dogs so they could abuse them. I once saw I picture of a dog standing on a piece of ice in the lake and he had only 3 legs. Someone had cut one ☝️ of them off. I used to look at some of those pictures but I quit looking at them. To see the cruelty that some evil 👿 sick minded people made me sick 🤢too. 😢😢

    My older sister and her husband had 2 dogs 🐕 🐕and 1 cat 🐱. The cat’s name was Agnes Jane but they never called her tha. Because of some of the crazy things she did they called her Miss Crazy. The dog 🐶 were Bruns Gustav they called Guss and Pierre because he was a French poodle 🐩. Sister only fed Miss Crazy, Guss and Pierre once a day at supper time. We called the noon meal dinner and the night meal was super. That’s the biblical name for it. Jesus sent two of his disciples to prepare the Lord’s supper and when they went out they sang a hymn and it had been dark.

    Oops, I almost forgot what I started to post my comment about. When it was time to give Guss, Pierre and Miss Crazy their supper she would put Guss and Pierre’s dog 🐶 🐩 food in their bowls and Miss Crazy’s cat 🐈‍⬛ food in her bowl. Of course the brothers would gobble theirs up right away and sit starring at Miss Crazy’s cat 🐈‍⬛ food because we all know how delicately cats 🐈‍⬛ eat their food. They knew not to try to eat any of her’s until she was finally finished and walked away from it. My sister had told them to wait until their sister had finished as much of her food that she wanted and then they could finish the rest of it. After the boys had finished eating they would go into the living room and pick up their toys and put them in the basket 🧺 on the fireplace hearth and go get their blankets and then they were ready for bed. I just kept thinking 🤔 that the name Pierre didn’t sound like right and I was right. It’s Claud. 🐩🐈‍⬛

    My nephew got one ☝️ of his front teeth 🦷 knocked out when he was bull wrestling in a rodeo. He never got it replaced and he looks so cute with that tooth. One of his 2 younger sisters was sitting in their car 🚘 while he husband went into a store to buy something when a black man went and robbed the store. When he ran out he shot my beautiful niece in the face and it blinded her in one eye. She has a glass eye 👁 but it’s not noticeable. It’s blue just like the other one. Both of the girls are blue eyed blondes.

      At least the old Brahman bull in the picture was the same one that the late actor Cliff Robertson rode in the climax scene of his 1971 movie “J.W. COOP”, and he grabbed its horns to hold it off until he got pulled over to safety.
