- From Season 15 of Walt Disney's Disneyland Anthology program we have Episode 5: Brimstone, The Amish Horse which originally aired on October 27th, 1968. An accident cripples a championship steeplechase horse, Brimstone, who is then sold at auction to an Amish minister, Jonathon Lansford. He and his daughter, Barbara hope to heal the horse enough for it to serve as a work horse and to pull their buggy. Starring Pamela Toll as Barbara Lansford, Wallace Rooney as Bishop Jonathon Lansford, Phil Clark as Eli Kreider, Robert Allen as Gordon Knight, Sr., Michael Goodwin as Gordon Knight, Jr., Abby Lewis as Mrs. Lansford and Tom Caldwell as Auctioneer.

Awesome story, loved this story and the Wonderful World of Disney, watched it all the time growing up. Zorro was one them and the Scarecrow of Romney Marsh was another, and many others. Walt was a visionary. Walt’s Disney Land was created so families could share family adventures from fantasy land and other stories from the movies, a place to have fun and for people to enjoy them. Plus many of his films had morals to share. I do miss these…RIP Walt, may others continue to follow your dream. 👍❤️🙏🏼

The young rich man took advantage of her innocence and if Brimstone broke his leg ? Maybe then she would learn a lesson ! Especially when he’d end up meat for dogs ..
I love the Amish way of life. Some things are hard to take !
Well in this story it didn't happen and don't be a stick in the mud. Not all Amish send their horses to the killer auctions. Don't worry, be happy.

Forcing an already injured horse to trot briskly on hard paved roads for miles to get to his new home, good grief! hire a horse trailer!! be not deceived by this movie, the amish are very hard on their horses, ask any auctioneer of equines that encounter them in their sales barns. or any rescue organization.

At Ruidoso Downs, we used to tie horses to a tree in the stream to cool their legs down. And we used poultices from bran, and sat under them and rubbed their legs with liniment.

Heard that for the Amish, animals have no soul. Thats why so many out worn horses and mules end up in slaughter pipeline and are really worked half to death. If thats true, I have no sympathy for that bunch.
Seing him pulled behind the carriage limping for miles makes me go and search for another video.

@@Acelevi999 Ever seen a video of humane society buying horses from the kill buyers' auction? Many many amish horses half worked to death among them. They also run puppy mills. If there are only 10% truth in it, I'm done with my sympathy.

I remember this movie from when i was but a wee lad. My pa would put this on as a warning of what would happen to me if i told him about my dreams of becoming amish, fond memories. That was 97'. He died 6 years later and there was no one to stop me. I lived on the amish ranch for 12 more years. I Never believed him but he was right. Pretty much everything that happened to brimstone happened to me, it was crayz! Anyway i got heavy into drugs like crack and it was fun for a while. Later i would lose my hand in a freak juice accident. Awesome movie!

These animals are tripped by wrapping a wire around thier legs as the horse runs the wire pulls tight tripping the horse these movies have no mercy exploiting animals for profit

Thank God. Truly enjoyed this video. Staying true to ones faith is the best way. Knowing and recognizing what animals are ment for is great too. Sad that so many people get led astray by vegans. God tells us a animals are pit here for our use. That means leather from hids as well as for food. Ha. Strayed a little from the horse but not from the message.
