Overdrive and Megaforce: One team is led by a robot who acts like a human, the other is led by a human who acts like a robot.
LOL, couldn't have said it better myself.
Kyle Stubbs This makes me think the writers ended up working on the wrong season.
Kyle Stubbs hahahaha... 😆😆😆😆
Kyle Stubbs true. Mack was more likable than Troy.
Kyle Stubbs both suck crap
Still don't quite agree with Linkara on Overdrive being worse than Megaforce. His main argument is that the Megaforce rangers are more heroic than the asshole Overdrive rangers, but at least the Overdrive rangers HAD personalities. My main argument is that Overdrive at least TRIED to be consistently entertaining.
Couldn't agree more.
I think a good gage for how someone will feel about Overdrive is Dax. DB didn’t find him the worst thing about the show and likes it more than the average fan. Linkara despises every iota of his being, so he hates the show about that much.
Personally I found Dax to be little more than background noise and I enjoyed the show. It wasn’t great, but I was never excessively bored like by Ninja Storm or Time Force (I got really tired of filler in Time Force, but anything that developed the story was significantly more entertaining than Overdrive)
Dax is hilarious.
I think Operation Overdrive's fatal flaw is inconsistency. Like, the rangers would be hunting the jewels in one episode, then they'd be off doing something else entirely in the next. And there were too many 'main villains' to keep focus on one thing or another as well. And some things that could've been bigger parts of the plot didn't last long. But at least it HAD a plot. Megaforce was just 50 episodes of Goseiger in 20 episodes of Power Rangers.
imdb88 Yeah Linkara is wrong about this season being worse than Megaforce /Super Megaforce. His hate for the Overdrive let’s him believe that the season that literally disrespected the legacy of the franchise is better than a season that at least tried to do something unique as an anniversary series.
I knew I wasn't the only one that saw some good in Overdrive outside of Once A Ranger!
OneManSentai bringing back the old Rangers was good and their original actors
OneManSentai I just wish that it had better execution, decent writing that doesn't feel so horribly-rushed and actors that can *ACTUALLY* do a better job at hiding their Australian and New Zealand accents on-screen.
OneManSentai you need to see what linkara thinks about it, he hates this episode in this season.
OneManSentai pretty much
OneManSentai It had a lot of potential. It was definitely unique. It was just not executed as well as it could have been.
I remember liking some parts of Operation Overdrive, such as:
-The Once a Ranger episode (even with all its flaws)
-Mack taking down a giant monster, without a Megazord, not even in Ranger form
-Will and Kamdor's final fight
-Tyzonn"s story arc
-The three episode story arc with the Fearcats summoning a monster that practically took three Megazords to take down
But I can respect your opinion about the series.
i'd add Will's duels with Kamdor and Miratrix. Pretty solid fights
I've always liked the final battle against Agrios, their last stand against the Fearcats and Kamdor using the Blue Sapphire to summon the asteroid before goading them to come and fight him. He was such a badass. Oh, and the first fight with the Cyborg Fearcats when the rangers got their butts handed to them, and the base destruction scene.
Actually I don't really hate Operation Overdrive it's one of the first Power Ranger series I've ever watched I will say one thing it's better then Super Megaforce that's for sure
Other than that, it's very underrated.
P.S. Screw you, Linkara!
I'm not too familiar with Linkara, but would you consider him to be to Operation Overdrive what HiTop Films is to the MCU Spider-Man Trilogy (If you're familiar with HiTop, that is)?
Operation overdrive was one of my first ranger seasons that I was really into. When I learned that it was hated I can understand why, but man, my nostalgia goggles
You're the same as me. I too became a PR Fan because of Operation Overdrive and I honestly was heartbroken when I learnt people hated it. I've seen some people say that this Linkara guy had torn OO apart, so is he kind of like "the HiTop Films of Power Rangers"?
I too also grew up on Operation Overdrive and I it’s still one of my favorite seasons. I also have a personalized Autograph of Dwayne Cameron (Mercury Ranger) and a signed script of once a ranger part 1 and 2
Your idea for Billy sounds cool, but unfortnately, David Yost wouldn't agree to it since he left the show after facing harassment from the crew and doesn't plan to wanna come back.
PyroDan yes that’s what I thought it’s sad how he got treated by everyone there
PyroDan That is sad. But he sure doesn't mind making money off of Power Rangers and his time on said set.
Lenard Williams ya that's what I heard too. Even heard he loves going to cons to meet fans and it looks like he has a ton of fans regardeless of what happened and who he is. Just glad to see the guy is doing better in life at least.
PyroDan I just came from Rangerstop convention in Orlando, Florida. He was there. He had a booth right next to Bulk & Skull and Austin St. John
Completely agree. One of the several issues with my thought experiments is that it's not as fun to consider practical limitations. So I take more of the "fan-fic" route, if you will, where the possibilities are theoretically limitless.
But I admire David Yost quite a bit for his stance, since he went through a lot just being on the show but still loves and interacts with the fans.
I didn't like samurai because of how jaden looked like justin bieber.
I gave up on the series by episode 5 so...
I like Jaiden but he just a copy-paste jason
Gameslayer 9000 Well, I don't blame the rangers because Jayden was their friend. To be replaced at the last minute by a sister they never knew that was hyped as the "One" that could seal Master Xandred away for good. I especially don't blame Antonio because he was the only one that wasn't a Samurai. He only joined because his best Friend was Jayden and they had a brotherhood bond.
Lenard Williams indeed sure it was a good on paper, but the execution was poorly timed
White Darkness They just carbon copied and Whitewashed the Sentai storyline with the sister coming in and taking over. That's on Saban. He didn't have much time after buying back the franchise from Disney. So, he just copied the Sentai but with an American point of view
"Live action Sword Art Online"
Best analogy for Samurai I've ever heard!
Hahaha, I was quite proud of that line :)
I take overdrive over Megaforce any day.
Same but megaforce isn't as bad has people says it is. When it's good, it's really good(the Casey cameo episode) but when it's bad, it's Really bad(legendary battle) but other then that megaforce makes me say "This season is bad, but I guess it's okay I guess"
I somehow watched it.
@@Dwood777 After all the interviews of the megaforce cast I have seen, they were told by episode 5 to stall character growth.
Every bit of emotion troy shows was snuck in by Andrew Gray, every Jake/Gia look and comment was snuck in/adlibbed (They admitting to screwing up every take in the finale except the cheek kiss ones, so Saban had to use one of them.), Every moment Emma had with Orion/Emma/Noah was Christina masterson trying to get something going on with her character, Orion was sneaking in goofiness to be more like Gai.
It's a scavenger hunt season and I love watching an episode to find the stuff they sneak in.
Same
As much as I cringed when I watched Overdrive, it's ten times better than what power rangers is producing now with the exception of Dino Charge (the first half really). As much as I strongly dislike this season, I'll watch it in a heart beat over Megaforce any day of the week.
Amen! And I also agree that the first half of Dino Charge is exponentially better to anything else in the Neo-Saban era. Dino Super Charge however... ehhh...
I think the whole power rangers franchise should’ve ended with megaforce because you know the writers are running out of ideas when they do a second dinosaur and ninja themed series
Deity Saturn
won;t shock me in the slightest if we get another space or time force style themed series
@@marlom7882 I think you forget that a lot of these themes are pulled from those in the Sentai counterpart. They've had several ninja seasons in Sentai. I wouldn't be surprised if the current contract with nickleodeon which ends in 3 seasons, that power rangers ends permanently.
@@TheDisneyBrain explain I will listen
In my headcanon, I just view Thrax as an impostor who claims to be the son of Lord Zedd and Rita solely to give himself more credibility.
I figured he was just the cleansed evil of both that made him.
Having the crown jewels separated and dispersed throughout the galaxy could have re-introduced Triforia, Mirinoi, and other planets we haven't seen since before SPD. That and Mack Hartford uses the red crystal as a power source/"soul" being that he is an android.
oh the mack jewel idea is absolutely perfect. ik ik it's been 4 years but still. it'll also create a much more legit reason for the crown reviving him in the end
I enjoy Overdrive to beginning to end, really it was a great season, with great twists, the fact that Mack was an android the hole time and not some kind of weird dream like the robo turbo rangers, really add a lot to this season
Traxx is easily explained. he was born before Countdown to Destruction, likely while Rita and Zedd were living with Master Vile. And he was protected from the Z-Wave due to distance (possibly being raised by his grandfather in a different galaxy). The Z-wave having a max range is something that must be assumed as in the very next season ancient evils show up again.
let's not forget the infighting that was going on between the villians only made the team look weaker than they already did. And to expand on the galaxy themed idea you had maybe the once a ranger team up include both Andros and Karone from in space and lost galaxy.
Operation Overdrive had the potential to be epic all the way, but just didn't seem convincing or believable. Mack and Rose were the only rangers who I could take seriously. Dax was so-so, Tyzonn was eh, but Will and Ronny were both annoying, bland, and boring. I really don't know what to say about Andrew. Many people say that he was annoying but never explained how. Spencer was funny and was the best character. As for Flurious and Moltor, those two were awful villains. And don't even get me started with Norg. He was all the way effed up. Miratrix and Kamdor was just as effed up as Norg was. Overall, even though Operation Overdrive was bad, it wasn't as bad as Megaforce and Super Megaforce.
Paul Verner Norg was comic relief on the villains' side, and you can't talk crap about Kelson Henderson's performance. Sure he was annoying to you, but he MUST'VE made you laugh a few times.
You forgot the part about Flurrious wearing Anchor Arms.
I think Will was a Badazz character despite him being a asshole in real life!
I enjoyed overdrive despite how bad it was while it has lots of problems... It still tried to be fun and unique in its own way. The concept was interesting, most of the main cast was fun, it managed to pull off having multiple villain factions pretty well and at least its not mega force.
Turns out that there was some production bullshit going on behind the scenes. By 2007, Disney was just done with Power Rangers due to the invention of new plotlines requiring larger budgets to film new footage. They told Bruce to adapt as many Sentai plots as possible and at one point thought of literally doing an 4Kids style dub of the Sentai with no American assets whatsoever. They slashed the budget massively which, since they shot a lot of Kalishplosions for Overdrive, meant that they had fuck all money and had to speed the writing and editing process. Still better than the clusterfuck that was Super Megaforce's production (holy fucking shit was that seasons production a Lovecraft style abomination).
After Super Megaforce, I hold Operation Overdrive in a new light.
I've watched through O.O several times and never once thought to myself, I hate this. It's a bad season but I still liked what it was trying to do. Will, might get a lot of hate for being a lone wolf but that died down quickly after episode 3. I was disappointed with Dax and Ronny's lack of character development as both were favorites after, Will. Tyzonn, in my opinion had one of the best intros of a six hero. The backstory was good, being a monster and serving, Moltor, even the he's an alien jokes made me chuckle. Mack is an underrated Red Ranger and Rose sometimes can be annoying being a know it all. The villain factions definitely could've been done better but I loved The Fearcats and how much they just owned everybody.
The Fearcats were one of my highlights for that season
@@ErickNation19 how about some love for my favorites, Miratrix and Kamdor
GoddessOfWhim2003 gotta show them some love
to
Dude operation overdrive was actually a great season. It was heavily affected by the writer's strike in 2007 which really destroyed that season. Obviously it wasn't a good season but they had good ideas and they could have done more if it weren't for the writer's strike.
@@ErickNation19
Yeah, the Fearcats were the most effective villain faction that season. In my opinion, they were stronger, smarter, and much more motivated than the others. Kamdor was a jerk, but at least his rivalry with Will was fun to watch. Miratrix reminded me a bit of Trakeena with her training backstory, but that was it. Of the two brothers, Flurrious was the most bothersome for me. Not only did he do next to nothing but watch everyone else kill each other for the treasure, but he showed no appreciation for Norg, a rather underrated minion who proved quite capable holding his own, tracking down enemies, AND acquiring even one of the jewels to the crown! Moltor wasn't much better, but at least he wasn't lazy.
Spencer was my favorite character this season, lol.
I loved him!
Mine was Adam. Sure he was only in one 2-parter, but he is my favorite ranger from MMPR
Spencer is right up there with my all-time favorite characters in the franchise: Astronema and Cruger.
@@TheDisneyBrain Mine's NORG, everyone's favorite yeti!
Rosie is my favorite here, i love that episodes with the pirate & the moments with tayson, love u Rosie my little pirate 💖
I love overdrive, mainly cuz it was the first ranger show I watched, and I really like the designs
Some people can't stand the Overdrive uniforms but I actually love them.
Same
You made excellent points there DB, also your ideas would have made the season that much better. Thanks for sharing them with us.
You're very welcome! :)
Better than Megaforce. At least its shittiness is consistent and The butler, Hartford, Mac, Will, Rose, Tyzonn and most of the villains provide some real entertainment.
This was my favourite reason 😟 and I liked Dax
But if you were the executioner in the production team , this season would have been everyone's favourite
If saban productions give u a job in the lead production , please make operation overdrive 2 with those ideas but same megazords , overdrive megazords were the best , agree or not
The best thing Operation Overdrive did was connect the items they searched for. In Boukenger, the every episode precious got a bit boring, but I guess they were more focused with character development and made it work. It was nice to see here they found a way to connect the items as a connected quest to form a better over arching story line - and it almost worked.
I actually like Overdrive. And I like Dax.
That is rare some liking dax
SAME, I was waiting to see someone say it
Me too
Same here i like him better than every other joke characters that over do it
Honestly, same
Operation Overdrive was the season I watched as a kid, so it'll always hold a place in heart.
Operation Overdrive is my favorite season of all power rangers.
U R right bro
Everyone has their preferences
@@pn2294 same I love overdrive but I get that it's not everyone's favorite
hes doing SPD next? oh boy, thats my favorite season.... *sweats profusely*
:D I'll have a lot more to say about the characters when we tackle that season.
Please be serious about doing a video for that season. Literally nobody has a damn video on SPD and it really bugs me. I’m counting on you.
Been binging your content for a little while now and the sly cooper reference has made me a complete fan of you that was my all time favourite game as a child and I adore it so much
Mack and rose are the only rangers from this season who I actually liked
Rose is a Filipina
Linkara summed up perfectly why once a ranger is a bad power rangers episode
Tyzon getting corn rows to be like Will is enough to make this season gold
Don't forget that Spencer also dressed in dreads too.
My Overdrive Team
Red: Leo.
Blue: TJ.
Black: Cam
Pink: Vida.
Yellow: Kira
Mercury: Jason.
switch karone and kira around you put them at each other's colors
The theme song for Operation Overdrive is one of my favorite! The others are Ninja Steel, Ninja Storm, Mystic Force and Dino Charge!
Despite all the problems this show has, Overdrive is legit one of my all time favorites lol. This was one of the first PR shows I ever watched growing up and I watched our dvds over and over so I always get the nostalgia.
Same here used to have the first two dvds I watched all the time
Please do “In Space” next. The streets needs it.
Whilst I'm not sure if my heart could survive an entire season of Tori and Kira being on the same team, the idea of the Veteran Rangers being the team for a whole season is a pretty good one. I also like your idea of having each of the jewels on different planets, each tying into Ranger lore
I actually really love this season
This was the second Power Rangers series I saw, and now I realize I forgot all the villains and most of the storyline. I saw Mystic Force first and I remember most of that.
Thanks, I needed the refresher. You got good points too.
You have some great ideas on how this could have been improved. I like the idea of the jewels being scattered across the galaxy and Thrax being the major villain for the season, but that still does deal with the problem of where he came from with the messed-up continuity.
Very true. I didn't address that in the video, but you could easily make him a relative of Zedd's without the continuity breaking next of kin nonsense.
The Fearcats are some of my favorite villians in Power Ranger history. Definitely in top 10. I also like Kamdor and Moltor, but Flurious I hated. Especially the way he killed Moltor.
I wouldn't mind a PR show where you have a team where each person is different in their own way and abilities but they make those differences work together. For example, Hartford could send Will on a covert mission to find a jewel guarded in a fortress or some other place in another planet. His spy skills would be put to good use.
overdrive is one of my fave seasons and it always breaks my heart seeing people hate this season :(
Jungle Fury was a lot better. Operation Overdrive was a fun season to watch, but Jungle Fury had a LOT more good villains. Operation Overdrive's best villains were the Fearcats in my opinion.
Something worth a mention is that the treasure idea was liked by Disney, but then the staff was given a small budget to work with. Just letting you know that. Keep up the great work with your videos.
just something i had in mind for Thrax...i think he was born some time before Count down of destruction. like: during Zordon's sacrifice he was only a baby hense. not evil nor good so he'd be completley unaffected by the Z-wave...as for everything else idk..
I’ll say this about Overdrive. It has one of my favorite battlizers.
There were a few more subtle anniversary references, such as Bullock's chest having the same jewel as Magna Defender and the Lavadactyls reusing the sound effect for Kira's Pterazord.
Also I agree, Megaforce sucked, I was so looking forward to the pirate group being able to call on past powers, and then they made it part of megaforce and screwed it completely up.
Thank you, because actually liked this season too. Yeah it was cheesy, but the concept was cool, loved the suit designs and the fight scenes were absolutely killer!
I thought Dax was adorable. But then again we all have our weaknesses (I've had to hear you drone on and on about Gia and Kendall)
Overall this wasn't an offensive season, but it wasn't great either. It was just there and I wanted more character development from people other than Tyzonn.
Overdrive was middling sure, but nothing before or after will EVER be as bad as the blasphemy that is Super Megaforce. Gokaiger is, in my opinion, the finest Super Sentai ever made and deserved a really well made 50-episode season. For them to water it down and combine the 98 or so episodes of Goseiger and Gokaiger into a 40-episode season was unforgivable....
To be slightly fair to the Sentinel Knight: I operate on the theory that Adam repaired his morpher after discovering it could still function in his In Space appearance, which is supported by his adeptness with technology in Once a Ranger, and I thought the Ninja Storm Rangers got their powers back in the Dino Thunder team up?
You should channel your thought-exercising into a video, can you please do a vid about what you think it would look like if mermaids and mermen became Power Rangers?
(You don’t have to, it’s just a suggestion, but I would love to see your thoughts)
Thrax was interesting in the "I left my food running in the mircowave for too long, in a container that probably shouldn't be in there..." kind of way.
4:12 in Bridge case, I say two words, Time portal, and it was mentioned in season of SPD, it always pop up randomly and can send anyone to any different timeline or bring then in current present.
Given how often the good Captain features in your thumbnails I’d be really curious to see you tackle Star Trek
Do SPD next!!!
Dhilax Rasaratnam it is next
I was originally thinking of making a video in between this one and SPD, but I'll probably just do SPD next :)
The Disney Brain Love that 👍
Disney Brain yes please. I’ve been waiting for like... ever.
Good news everyone! It's uploading as we speak! Or rather, as I type.... lol
I’m so excited that the next power ranger video is S.P.D.!!
:D
This was one of my favorite season when i was smaller
The way you throw shade at the neo saban era 😂
The Disney Era is NY favourite. SPD, Jungle Fury and RPM are my favorite seasons (RPM's theme song is still the worse though). I think that Overdrive had a pot of potential (like you said) but, sadly it didn't fulfill it's potential completely. I did like it when I was young.
LOL, I don't know how they screwed up RPM's theme so badly when almost every theme song in the franchise is at least good and at most epic. It's kind of fascinating to think about.
It really is.
I mainly remember this series because I recorded the stuff while it was airing and selected part 1 of an episode thinking it was part 2 and wondered why the "previously on..." was taking so long
I'm fine with this season sine it was one of my first seasons eventhough I don't remember it much
I liked the villain dynamic in this season, only if I cannot remember when a show had so many factions working within their own designs. I remember being genuinely saddened by the defeat of the terror twins.
Mig and Benglo?
Dude I would love t if u made a vid on Jetix with its rise to fame, the rivalry between networks, its phonemalnal shows, it's fall and how it could be fixed and be brought back.
Hey what are your thoughts about GoGo Sentai Boukenger compared to O.O ? You know for story or plot, I would actually prefer O.O because I don't know if you have seen boukenger or not but there is actually no story. SGS secret organisation collected precious before, collected precious during the series and also collects in the future so basically no start or end but O.O has. Honestly boukenger's name should be "49 days in the life of an adventure group (and three movies)".
Thrax being an ex partner of Heartford rather than trapped by the Sentinal Knight would work well as a counter to Heartford who formed a team dedicated to returning the jewels to Sentinel Knight. However, a counter because Thrax unites the villains and they attempt to find the jewels for their own purposes. When in reality, Thrax is hoping the rangers win so he can steal the jewels form them and wipe out the other villains all in one.
Now I want to watch the story you described in this video.
I can't wait (and highly hope) for you to watch Boukenger. You'll enjoy it; I certainly did.
Rewatching these videos makes me see Power Rangers in a whole different level. Thanks for the videos.
One little thought: I like that there are multiple villain factions. It reminds me of real life geopolitics. USA and USSR joined to defeat Nazis and then became rivals for example. However if what you say is true, they weren’t used that well.
Here's an idea, Overdrive
The Sentinel Knight is able to seal Moltor and Flurrious, but not before they injure him severely. He's on the verge of death, and so he doesn't have any choice *but* to use the Corona Aurora to seal the two of them away (he needed a powerful artifact of some sort). Sure Thrax still doesn't make any sense but at least you could say 'oh he was too weak to send them to other planets' or something.
According to Linkara, Will is a thief in real life, too. He stole a signed poster from a charity drive.
From young children. He has it and is never going to give it back as well
@@estebangutierrez160 no he didn’t there’s a video on RUclips of the actor explaining what really happened
In the beginning, the sentinel knight was in a weakened state, so bringing back 5 retro rangers wouldve weakened him even more and possibly even have killed him if he powered them up for too long
Maybe, but his weakened state makes very little sense, since he was fully ready to keep the replacement Rangers empowered for as long as it took to complete the mission but was still in spirit mode prior to that random deus ex sword they found one fine day.
man i had such a major crush on the yellow ranger while growing up. still do
After watching countless seasons of Power Rangers, I have split them into 5 categories as follows:
- Bad potential, bad execution (Megaforce, Samurai, Mystic Force)
- Good potential, bad execution (Operation Overdrive, Wild Force)
- Bad potential, good execution (RPM, Jungle Fury, Lost Galaxy)
- Good potential, good execution (Dino Thunder, Time Force, SPD)
- Just sorta there for whatever reason (Ninja Storm, Turbo)
This show was what brought me to power rangers. So it is my favorite show
Mac, the zords, Once a Ranger, and to a lesser extent, Tyzonn were the only things that compelled me to watch Operation Overdrive. I distinctly remember crying in the finale with Mac sacrificing himself when I first watched it as a kid. Rose had some cool moments. Everything else was forgettable
Having flashbacks of the Operation Overdrive team just giving up and being all envious of the past PR team members in the two parter. It still makes me shake my head and laugh at the same time.
AND, they could still have used their civilian powers to help out, even if they needed to do so indirectly. Heck, Rose never even needed any DNA modifications to be useful, she's just brilliant, so they could have at least made sure she stuck around.
Why are you not in charge of power rangers?!
Your idea sounds so badass I'd have loved to see it!
I just went back and rewatch this video and the point you made about not hiding the gems across the universe & having them all on Earth is the exact thing the MCU avoided doing which made for a more exciting universe yes ik operation overdrive was before the MCU but still
Late comment but I'm just gonna say it
Operation Overdrive is genuinley in my honest opinion one of the most entertaining and fun seasons of power rangers ever
It's so
Off the wall stupid and insane
The characters, the villains, the fact that there's no real genuine theme holding anything together except that they're sorta kinda maybe treasure hunters/spy's/????
They're so goddamn weird and dumb and that's FUN TO WATCH it's funny how all over this season is
I think it gets way too much flak from people who take power rangers as a series way too seriously.
Am I mistaken I feel like you might have had a review for mmpr and Zeo but I could be wrong
Operation Overdrive was one of my favorite seasons as a kid but I don't know how well it aged and don't really feel like rewatching it vs so many I've heard were good but never got around to watching like Time Force
Will didn't want the spotlight, he wanted to do things by himself
I'm still confused with the crossover it would mean that bridge was taken from a time that takes place some years after SPD
I like the Overdrive song.
A fantastic failure is better than a mediocre success.
A youtuber I follow said that and I think it rings true here. At least Overdrive tried to do something
If Sentinal Knight was a good guy turned villain, literally everything he did would’ve made sense. Like, him using Hartford to free the brothers, bring destruction to earth, hiding all the jewels there aswell so he could get them himself, etc. It’d need tweaking but it’d be much more interesting a story
The thing that threw me off is when the red ranger got his battlizer. When sentinel knight was saying it would kill any human if they used it. And yet the red ranger just so happened to be conveniently a robot????? I know that they revealed it way earlier than that episode but still. The fact the HES the only one felt too convenient to me.
One of the rumours that i heard was that this series was basically mix gokaiger and dinothunder. I think they wanted to bring Tommy back and have Overdrive be a secret team that he created to fight the last of the Zordon era evil.
Considering the idea with Billy, I'm not sure David Yost would be up for working with the staff again given past experiences on Mighty Morphin' all the way to the middle of Zeo. He walked off set for a reason.
100% agree! Probably the smartest way to fix the season was to hire the once a ranger team to lead the season considering it is the 15 anniversary. Idk if i would stick to soley those five. I'd assume Hartford is still the head of this season. Since it would be expensive for them to shoot the season in their original team suits and drive away from the sentai footage, I'd have Tori as Overdrive Pink , Kira as Oveedrive Yellow, Blue Ranger Sky (As him being a dick could bring tension within the team) as overdriver blue, Xander (to compensate for Sky) as Overdrive black and you could have Mack as overdrive red. Adam could be the Mercury ranger or any other cool veteran. Perhaps the finally can revolve around them using their og suits like once a ranger.
Operation Overdrive is still one of my favourite seasons behind Jungle Fury and SPD
my one thing that made me sad, they set up Tyzonne and Ronny romance only to go surprise Ty your dead girlfriend isn't dead. if the Fearcats or Kamdor were the main villains (one or the other, maybe both) it could have been good. i like your ideas about Thrax
Actually, I loved the look of these rangers, they look the best out of them all to me, they are the first ones that come to mind when I think of power rangers, maybe not the show, but their suits do!
Also, hated how Zuuban, the gold guy sword, was some super ancient god. In reality, he was an ancient guardian and was kinda like a pokemon who only spoke his name and he was hilarious.
