I am suffering from PCOD and it was back in 2020 when I had my first PCOD but later with a healthy food habit and exercises, my PCOD got controlled without any medications. But last year due to the influence of my “friends” I used to smoke a lot. I could have resisted but I didn’t. I also was stressed due to my exams and jobs. Currently I’m having multiple cysts and I’m under medication. I’m doing yoga everyday. And twice a week I do cardio. I have stopped consuming sugar and dairy products. I drink spearmint tea everyday. Regular sleep is also very important, so ladies don’t stick to your phone late night and get some sleep. Have positive mindset that this is just a phase and it shall pass.
I wish speedy recovery to all my fellow PCOD/ PCOS warriors.

I also suffer of PCOS and I’ve also encountered this huge pain every time my periods came, couldn’t move and got sick and almost fainted every time, once I also went to the ER because my body was getting numb. At the hospital they told me everything’s alright with me after two hrs of tests and they let me out. I mostly overcame the pain by taking a pill for pains exactly when the pains were starting, eating bananas, and moving something warm on my belly and back.
I got pregnant thank God, and I realized that the pain I was having every month was the exact same pain I had before giving birth. After pregnancy my periods don’t pain anymore, they come and if I don’t pay attention I might even not notice.

Working through trauma and PTSD significantly reduced my stress levels and guided me to make better life choices. Intermittent fasting (fasting 16 hours and eating within an 8 hour window) and going plant based almost immediately fixed my PCOS symptoms, reversed my diabetes, improved my joint pain, repaired my unhealthy relationship with food and literally made me feel alive for the first time. After a few months of making these changes I had consistent, less painful, regular periods with no birth control and I was lucky enough to get pregnant with a few months of trying. I had to do my own research and experiment to get to this point because the standard way to manage PCOS wasn’t enough. Being put on birth control and metformin and being told that I needed to lose weight was not helpful. There needs to be an emphasis on mental health help for starters in my opinion. Because when you feel lighter and unburdened mentally it’s easier to make better choices it opens doors to explore natural ways to improve systemic health.

Truth, stress wrecks hormones... But more needs to be done, like low impact exercise, an enjoyment of life... this disease, while appears to have different versions under the same name PCOS, is mitigated by that... Here's all I got otherwise...
As a scientist who dabbles in endo, this seems like a promising disease to explore to research. It looks like it maybe cured simply by regulating hormones, so this looks like a fun puzzle to me.
Some forms of it seem like it may be cured with proper hormone balancing, lower T, higher E, higher FSH.
Zinc raises T, Copper raises E and they compete, so right off the bat, 2 mg Copper and reducing some Zinc from the diet might be a fun thing to explore. I have a subject and she'll listen to me.
After that, it's interesting that there's a conflict in normal medical advice with exercising for diabetes, since exercising does raise T. I would think to keep exercising, but there's a small puzzle here.
Another thing that may help is straight LSH, to raise ratio of LSH to LH.
Lowering prolactin seems like an interesting road.
If you take Melatonin for sleep, stop, its bad for you, like taking steroids for testosterone is bad, switch to magnesium. Your body produces Melatonin at night... So if you take something your body produces, its normally a bad idea to sabotage your health... In this case, Melatonin reduces reproductive ability... Taken by males in puberty, stunts their growth downstairs, females in puberty, reduces their ability to have children later in life. You should be taking magnesium at night which makes your body over produce melatonin... Also, take vitamin d+k in small amounts to help your calcium absorption for magnesium is an essential electrolyte yet competes with calcium binding channel. For good bone health, take vitamin d+vitamin K or K2 and calcium each day.
It seems like it's more than just one disease lumped with similar similar symptoms according to Rotterdam convention.
I have full confidence that I'll be able to find a few novel treatments for PCOS. The degree of their effectiveness, I'm not sure, but I'll stay prayed up. Pray for my research. Pray for all medical researchers for the good of humanity.

I was diagnosed with the PCOS by one private clinic gynecologist when she did the ultrasound, after she sent me to run tests. My LH, FSH and Testosterone levels at her clinic are all within the limits, but my Glucose tolerance test showed higher result that she said is the cause for my PCOS and diagnosed me with the diabetes 2, so she prescribed me Glucophage). I did not trust that diagnosis (quite slim, active and healthy eater here) and went for a second opinion to a government hospital where ultrasound and gynecologist were separate doctors where the first one said I don't have PCOS and the second one based on the same images said it's just a cyst after which they directed me to a Diabetes clinic where I did the hb1ac test where the result was 5 (not diabetic nor pre diabetic) who also said I just have a cyst which is not dangerous in my case. I became speechless at the varying results and how easily doctors are willing to just treat people with hormones. I still don't know what I have exactly. I move to a different country soon, hoping to visit other doctors. These sort of experiences make me lose my faith in doctors.

      @KxNOxUTA Год назад +3

True on one hand and on hte other hand, for your own sake it is good to remember that diagnosis is - in large parts - about "guessing it right". This is not a joke. When they cannot dirctly look into our body, even with the modern immaging possibilities, it's still a lot like guessing work of the detective and trying different medicines in order to confim or rule out suspicions.
It doesn't help that all individuals are very different and research of womens health is relatively scarce. Making the "guesses" of our doctors more likely to be less accurate.
You can help yourself by joining communities where women speak about their issues and my researching how both cases tend to look in patients. Because if your case is not amongst the "easy guesses", then looking up things for yourself (and remember to be very discerning about it) can help you to a) ask better questions b) know better which symptoms you should definitely mention if you have them c) have more discernment what type of specialist you might be looking for.
Wishing you the very very very very best and that things work out. I'm currently trying to find a specialist for my case of adenomyosis with possibly some endometriosis. And for them to help me with the treatment I understood works best for me (and opently discussing the pros and cons of that to further help me with discernment). And won't run me through countless prior steps first that I have already mostly ruled out for myself for very very good reasons that I can explain (if they asked and listened).
It doesn't help that the time per patient is usually much too short for doctors to have a real chance to do a good job and have that detailed talk to find more clues.

@@KxNOxUTA thank you Kat for your detailed response. I very much appreciate it and have been looking into this whole issue for over the past year in details and was so freaking scared when she told me I have diabetes 2 which made me paranoid about insulin resistance but I just couldn't believe I had it because there are no other precursors that would lead to that diagnosis except glucose tolerance test which turns out to be less accurate in comparison to hemoglobin test checking red cells in the blood. But still much more to explore with new doctors.
Next diagnosis I received was exactly like yours, first gynecologist said it's adenomyosis with possible endometriosis but when I visited government people 1) ultrasound lady told me I don't have that rather a polyp, 2) gynecologist said maybe polyp or maybe adenomyosis and wanted to remove right away surgically via hysterectomy but I hesitated, so I needed to do a pelvis MRT which I also did for clarity and only after that said they finalized it's adenomyosis and so the first gynecologist was right eventually on this one even though wrong on PCOS. And the exact treatment for all they keep claiming is either Visan (progesterone hormone) or Mirena IUD that may disrupt my menstrual cycle for the rest of my life. So they all keep treating the symptoms but not the cause as none of them yet know what are the reasons.
My symptoms are: excruciatingly painful menstrual, at times painful intercourse, bloating especially around ovulationand during menstrual, rarely orange and slightly bloody discharge. Let me know if any of these symptoms are matching yours because all of these (I was told by all these doctors) are from adenomyosis. And I found some groups where women discuss this issue but still no progress on my decision on how I want to treat this, because I still want to have kids and hesitant to take any hormones that God knows how it will affect my body. Would love to chat with you more so that we can keep sharing our insights with each other. How can we stay in touch if you don't mind? Thanks again for your message and I wish you as well all the best and the right treatment for you🙏🏻

Strange how you were diagnosed based on just a high glucose level. You need at least 2 symptoms to be diagnosed with pcos. One cyst on the ovary surely wouldn't be enough to diagnose it. Structure of the cystic ovaries cannot be mistaken. I would definitely seek a new doctor. Wishing you luck at finding a better doctor. Some doctors really aren't knowledgeable when it comes to pcos.

I was "diagnosed" with PCOS at around age 18. Starting from about age 12 my period pains had become unbearable and painkillers showed little to no effect. Other women doctors said my cycle was normal for years before I was finally diagnosed so the first 2-3 days of my menstrual cycle would be torture😓😫. My iron deficiency had also returned and at an alarming rate that my doctor was surprised I could even walk. I can due to the increase in testosterone balancing those low iron levels apparently. I was prescribed iron powder and progesterone tablets that I can take orally and since then managing my symptoms has become easier. I have followup visits with this doctor every six months which also include an infusion with additional iron delivered directly into my bloodstream. Menstrual cycle is still tough for me but I'm doing better than I used to. Painkillers were also finally working better😊

I missed my periods for 4 months back in 2020. I even tested but it came with a 'PCOS negative'. I was relieved. But then things came back to normal. Again I'm suffering from irregular periods. I haven't menstruated for 2 months now. Plus, I'm suddenly suffering from mild constipation these days. I have changed my diet, plus drinking lots and lots of water. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I'm also having left lower back cramps, and sometimes I feel like I'm about to menstruate. But sadly, I don't. Thinking about all these gives me anxiety. I'm trying hard not to overthink.

I am sooo sick of having PCOS. My husband could give two craps if I stand naked in front of him and doesnt even seem to notice or care and thinks I'm gross cause I'm fat. And on top of it, I am so heavy that a friend offered an egg to help and my fertility specialist said due to my size, they can't safely give me the anthestia to do the procedure unless I got to 225lbs or less, which is impossible as I'm 287 and cant lose weight to save my life, and it would cost us $7500 for the whole thing. So basically, babies are for rich, thin people! I can't adopt as I dont have a spare $20,000+ laying around. And I don't wanna foster a baby as I don't wanna give them back! This makes me so fking angry that a basic human right has conditions in so many ways!

I NO LONGER HAVE PCOS. I had chronic, severe PCOS, multiple cysts on both ovaries, an enlarged right ovary, prediabetes, insulin resistance, brain fog and very poor eyesight. I would haemorrhage terribly for up to 5 months, thick, heavy blood clots, and the gynecologists would be clueless on how to stop the bleeding and end my pain. I am currently 2 years and exactly 5 months completely healed. All the cysts have disappeared, my right and left ovary are exactly the same size (the sonographers say they've never seen anyone with 2 ovaries the exact same size), my insulin is completely normal and I eat whatever I like.
PCOS may be chronic and incurable to men. But not to God.
Jesus completely healed me in March 2021.
I was never able to ovulate during the 15 years I suffered from PCOS, no matter the medications and hormone therapy I was given.
Since I got healed, I effortlessly ovulate every month. My periods are regular and I don't have those crazy migraines, hair loss or depressive episodes anymore.

The explanation of PCOS was great. But “birth control pills can help cause regular periods” is false, completely. If we know that the lack of progesterone is from an impaired feedback loop, with GnRH in consistent production, causing excess immature follicles and failed ovulations, then how would giving a synthetic progesterone help the root cause? Placing a pretend progesterone in the body would not realign the cycle, it would only make it ‘seem’ like all hormones are present. On top of that, bleeds that occur during birth control, are not periods. How could they be? A period is the sloughing of the endometrium and disintegrated ovum - I.e. the follow-up of an ovulation that was not met with fertilization. We established that in PCOS, there is no ovulation. So how could a birth control pill suddenly induce a period if it wasn’t even able to induce ovulation? The bleed that happens during birth control is a ‘withdrawal bleed’. It is excess hormones built up tissue that leaves the body.

    • @sahlkazi3058
      @sahlkazi3058 Год назад +1

@@florenceachiaa7481 you’d want to focus on balancing your hormones; remember that a good cycle of hormones is not that each hormone is in high amounts, but that they act like a teeter-totter, some go up and some go down, to create a cyclical harmony. To achieve this, you’d want to create a routine that follows the month, each part of the routine would focus on supporting that specific portion of the monthly cycle. If you look up some videos on “cycle syncing”, you’ll find the ways that you would coordinate your lifestyle (type of workout, food, mental support) to the current phase you’re in. Those phases being: menstrual, follicular, ovulating and luteal. The cycle syncing videos should mention how you would map out the phases and learn to identify which one you’re in. If you don’t currently have a period, you would use the moon phases as a guide until your lifestyle changes naturally being your period back. (This is because the moon phases are monthly, just like your reproductive cycle, so it’s a blueprint you can follow to create a sense of time and routine. The new moon being day 1 of your “period”, and the full moon being your day of “ovulation” and the day before the next new moon being your last day of that cycle. Then start over with the following new moon.) sounds weird I know, but it’s an effective way to train your body into a cyclical routine, just until you period returns and voila, you use your actual period to identify your phases. It sounds like a lot but I promise it’s not. I did it, and I’ve never used birth control. You got this! Your body wants to find balance, it just needs some support.

I feel like a women is likely to get pcos if her mother or father has daibeties. And she is likely to get pcod if its generation (runs in the family).
Stress is something we can't escape from, but its important to detox our minds once in a yr/6 mnths.
Sleep and exercise can 70% reduce chances of pcos.
I was happy when they mentioned in the video its not a disease, which is very true.
The video is informative and exact. Everyone suffering from this condition must watch this video.

The explenation was very useful. The animation needs some working
    - please be mindful of sexistic animation of women. It's very male gaze heavy and that hip to tiny waist to big breast ratio with defined abs is not normal nor health relevant. A woman with child looking like that and being out with such clothes is also very unlikely and goes way too eaily towards body shaming of women and especially women post child birth.
    - it would have been good to add that the fallopian tube actively picks up the egg. Other than that, the animation of period bleeding looks like all cleanly sloshes out in a huge red flurry. And that's not how that works. So it would be helpful if the animation there would not feed into such misunderstanding.
Again, the health relevan infornation is very appreciated. It'll be more helpful without the negative side effects above.

Your videos are very informative, thank you. I hope you will also include about menorrhagia, or menstruation irregularities, and dysmenorrhea - I will be so looking forward to it.
