***** Yes, I was in US Army stationed in Baumholder 85 to 87. We had to go through a US Military equivelent of Fahrschule, to drive on German roads. Very comprehensive. It should be that way here in the States, but it isn't. My driving test here involved driving around a few city blocks, no high speed
rbagel55 That's probably, why many us-americans can't understand how we can drive like that and still have much less accidents. But sadly enough, there are too many idiots here who don't handle the rules properly ...
rbagel55 I thought it was standard in the West, since it's the best highway system for everyone, period. Basic rules: The slowest traffic (usually trucks, driving 80-90 km/h) on the far right lane. Move as far to the right lane as possible/ reasonable. By that way, there's maximum traffic flow on the highway, so everyone can be happy. The people that want to drive economically are not bothered by people with haste and vice versa.
SinisterSkip I take it you arn't from the United States (where I live) Some parts of the US are more civilized than others. Around the bigger cities traffic can be a nightmare to navigate through
Its very difficult to hit 300 on the autobahn today partly due to traffic and people not knowing how to drive. I tried hitting 300 km/h this weekend driving my 997 S on the Hamburg-Berlin stretch and only got upto 270 km/h (168 mph) on a two-lane autobahn. I was constantly slowed down by trucks, opels and soccermom cars just pulling out in the left lane because they'd rather slow down the far left lane rather than let off the gas for 2 seconds and the person go by. Even giving advance notice by a quick flash that im faster was ignored with some people flatout jumping infront to provoke you. For anyone who's driving on the autobahn they know what im talking about. Nice vid all around, unfortunately the GoPro doesnt really capture how fast 270 is and on winter tires thats just crazy ;P
Uplink Legacy Still, if you know basic facts about an engine you know that the oil and water temperatur should both be about 90* C before reving it. Yes the car will be fine, but its still not good for the motor.
I so wish the United States had put a similar policy into play with our interstate highway system. Left lane for passing only, and max speed. Instead we get jacked with 50MPH in areas.
11 dakika boyunca sizinle yolculuk ettim :) orada ki trafik düzenine imrendim resmen, o arabanın hakkı öyle yerlerde çıkar işte dur kalk yapan istanbul trafiğinde değil.
@@Ramzes945 I’ve had tons of fun with it, absolutely amazing car, perfect in every way. As I relocated to a different part of the world, I sold it in 2017 for a very good price (but took me 6 months to find the right buyer).
I'm surprised that he didn't get the sport chrono since he optioned for the PDK. Sport chrono is not useful with manual but with PDK, its quite essential :/
Nik Brudar He is just saying that it's an unusual sight to see cars driving quickly on public roads. He is not saying that it's illegal, nor is he saying that it's weird because they are normal cars. If I joined a road where the median speed was over 100mph, then it would indeed be an amazing sight.
Hi Lili glad you enjoyed the clip. I drove it around 200 km mostly aggressive, most of it in city & about 80 km on autobahn, the fuel consumption's surprisingly good, still less than a 1/2 tank.. Hitting 300km depends on traffic on left lane within no speed limit zone.
To me its funny, because on a German autobahn 280 km/h (173 mp/h) looks ok, I think even the trucks are going 130 km/h so it just isnt as bad as on a Czech highway at 130 km/h .. And a kilometer (mile) of highway costs more then the German one in my country:)
Johan Reynders Actually I've done pretty much the same thing when I went to Germany. It's quite safe because everyone follows the rules, and they are very strictly enforced. By the way, my comment was a play on the famous line from the movie 300! :)
This video proves that even over in Germany on the almighty autobahn a driver still has trouble getting up to full speed because other drivers like to hang out in the left or high speed lane. You went quite always from the city before you got out in open space on the road. Going as fast as you were puts a lot of trust in other drivers skills which for me I couldn't put that kind of trust in. Still people in your country can sure drive a hell of a lot better than over here in the United States. People here think they are entitled to do whatever they please and their driving habits reflect that thinking process. People in the US who drive German sports cars are called assholes, such as: There goes another BMW asshole driver !
If a poor soul looks in his rear view mirror, sees it is clear and changes lanes, not knowing a projectile is coming at them at 130 mph above their own speed, then everyone in both vehicles die. Possibly other collateral damage and deaths. In the US you have to watch out for the motorcycles coming at 150 mph. Few of these boys make it to adulthood.
Yes, I agree. That's why the amount of fatal accidents in the US is so much higher because people drive faster than in Germany. No wait. That doesn't make sense. You cannot drive 60 mph on the left lane anyway. German engineering and education makes it safer than driving in the US. The cars are more stable and have superior handling, the roads are well maintained and while obtaining a driver's license they're more strict.
No, we are used to! This is very normal here, and this is every days driving on some parts on the autobahn. Nothing special to worry and to get exited for our people.

Nice car, the colour sucks. In Germany the automobile industry tells the speed limit. As long as there are so many german cars that can do more than 250 km/h there´ll be no limit..
Only similarities they have are that both are Deutsch and have engines in the back. The Beetle was the "peoples car" while the 911 is a proper sports car.

Amazing how people yeild to faster moving traffic in the far left lane.Unheard of in the US,they drive all over the road.

A flash can mean that you're letting the guy in front pull in front of you. This is the case in the uk, I'll be aware of this when I'm in Germany
That heavy breathing on the beginning ^^
Moravian Lion Lol, i was holding the camera too close to my nose :)
+Moravian Lion haha thank you.
You can see from the distortion of the steering wheel and dash, that he's approaching the singularity-speed of space-time-continuum vortex.
Excellent car, very good place. How great speed!!I love this video.Thank you!
My latest video : Porsche Carrera 4 GTS 911 991 German Autobahn 296 kmh (183 mph) (Wet Road) HD ruclips.net/video/gjrcXc6Qv-E/видео.html
I love German highways..No speed limit whatsoever!
$100K car, $10 camera
Awesome vid, i was on the autobahns near Nurburg last month, you can't beat legal speeding!!!!
Nice car but SUCH a horrible color choice.
yeah, it's terrible.
actually, it is very nice color. Guys who envy will find something bad to say about the car
shut up. color is awesome.
Beautiful color. Here in America vehicles only have four colors: black, white, shades of grey, and maroon.
Nice video, wonderful car .
Such a sexy car.
Helal dayi selektor falan diyince videonun ortasinda icim bi hos oldu 😂
Dont rev it while its cold, not good for the engine!
Daniel San it doesnt hurt to do it once but yes it isnt a good habit to get into
It hurts the head gasket. Its fucking expensive to change. It cost $1.100 USD for my Golf GTI.
I think Porsches prices are almost double.
my dad does to his porsche. He doesnt do it all of the time but his car is perfectly fine
Uplink Legacy Still, if you know basic facts about an engine you know that the oil and water temperatur should both be about 90* C before reving it.
Yes the car will be fine, but its still not good for the motor.
+Daniel San Funny guy! hahaha :)))
1st: A Porsche 911 has 2 cylinder heads!
2nd: A gasket change is about 6,000+ Euros (7,000 USD)!
I so wish the United States had put a similar policy into play with our interstate highway system. Left lane for passing only, and max speed. Instead we get jacked with 50MPH in areas.
THAT was f*in awesome! Thanks for posting!
That is the worst colour and wheels I have ever seen on a 991 how could you do this to the car?
Thanks- I really enjoyed this!

amazing sound
Nice, I bet Porsche underrated the power. What's the exterior and interior color combo?
Great car. Just ordered mine in GT silver to be delivered in October. Can't wait.
How's your 911 after 6 years?

You have to keep in mind, that its quite expensive aswell :D
+IIXMCMXCI V so it's a porsche, that's the idea.
Here is what they should do. don't have it no speed limit but give a minumum speed for each lane. 100 mph for lane 1, 150 lane 2 etc.
Sound like the guy recording is Turkish- Harika!
It's amazing that all the "slow" drivers he's flying past are doing about 50kph more than almost every maximum national speed limit in the world!
Autobahn .. please Google it.
+Nik Brudar I think he is aware of that mate
Jack Cooper What's the point of his comment then? Literally every car can drive at 160km/h easily nowadays ...
Nik Brudar He is just saying that it's an unusual sight to see cars driving quickly on public roads. He is not saying that it's illegal, nor is he saying that it's weird because they are normal cars. Looks like a nice car, but is it diesel? What's with the black smoke exhaust? Is that normal?
beautyfull car !!! i want this machine !!
Great car and great driver ;)
Hahah, that Opel Astra CDTI made you sweat :-D in the first half of video! :D
Lol, made me sweat for sure. Thankfully I had good brakes :)

good brakes in a great car!
superbe voiture, mais c'est la première fois que je vois cette couleur et je la trouve très originale !
Is this the Cognac Metallic exterior color ? I heard it isn't available anymore . Is it true ? Anyone ??

Nice car. For me maybe best looking 991 whit that colour.
that's a smooth ass road lol
Georgous car but why does he keep letting off when the road is wide open? He could have gone so much faster.
Awesome. But my fave Porsche will always be the 959
305 km/h is about real 295 km/h (GPS). U need to squeeze another 5 km/h to come in 300 club.

Excellent
190 MPH...you better know why you are doing!
4:03 - like horn in my C4 ;)
Maybe you should have spent a bit less on the car and a bit more on a decent Goddamn camera!
Which would you prefer the camera or the Porsche.
You mean the color. thats horrible:D
whats the mpg at 300 kph?
Apart from speeding on the Autobahn...can you actually drive a car?
No.
thought so.
VANITY80 Well done !
You can't speed on the autobahn.
The incredible speed of the 911 turns the steering wheel to rubber!!
Absolute madness to drive at those speeds!!
Madness? This... is... PORSCHE!!!
What I meant is, it is madness to drive that fast on a public road.. Some truck can turn in front of you, and you dead in an eye blink
