It was a wild showdown at Texas Motor Speedway as Josef Newgarden and Team Penske fended off Alexander Rossi and Andretti Autosport to extend their championship lead.
I'm sure they said it on the broadcast, but I looked it up: that crew member was checked and released by the infield care center. So he just took a tumble, no injury!
What a fantastic race! 👍This is proper, close and exciting racing from start to finish and through out the field. This is everything F1 isn't and should be.
Tiny nit-pick idea: At the end of these vids, could we have a run-down of the championship standings, please? As a newcomer to Indycar, would just appreciate been able to know how the results play through without having to guess from repetition (Like, I guess Newgarden's out in front, but how close are the likes of Dixon, Rossi, Pagenaud? Smeg, even Sato who's about as consistent as in the BAR F1 days, it seems)
@@cecilyt006 no Bahrain a country in the Middle East. In 2018 raikonnen came into his box and was told to release even though their was still a pit crew near the front of tire. He got absolutely smashed by the tire and his leg snapped it was horrific
Thanks for saying so Ken. I'm sure none of the die hard Dixon fans will agree with us, but you and I saw the same reckless driving out of Dixon. That was a forced error.
Sadly true AceRay24. I'm drawn to the F1 spectacle; but have to admit that this series has the meat and potatoes racing that most people really want to see. Vettel spoke to that effect last week post penalty in Canada, but most people didn't listen -- thinking he was only dissatisfied with one call. They'd better let them race or everyone will be 'tuning out'.
Indy Car commentator : "...whoaa, they are wheel to wheel, and he passed him at the outside...that was close...." F1 Commentator : "I wonder what the penalty will be given by the stewards for this race..." :p
If you streamed the races live with commercials you’d probably have triple the viewers that tv has by the end of the season. Please make that happen. NBC has no clue what to do with this property.
whoa Sato -Take a chill pill and watch where you are driving that beast. Too much power or not enough Monster kool-aid for him. Hope the pit guy is okay. Boy that was close. Helmet a must!
should they put SPOILER ALERT!!! in the title? It's safe to assume that by the time most people watch these they already know who won, what with all that social networking and all...
Indycar really needs to do something about pit lane safety this year. Solid race from RHR. He deserved a lot better than that 5th place finish. Every run is a championship run in my book.
What is with the Hunter-Reay promos the last part of the race? Every other sentence "Hunter-Reay this..." and "Hunter-Reay that.." even though he was clearly not going to come close to challenging for the lead. Were the announcers being paid for these promos? lol
Nothing to learn. Balls to the wall racing and when you send it you have to rely on the other car to be fair. Not knocking Dixon but he gave no room when Herta was clearly alongside.
There is 1 thing F1 is better at then indycar, the liveries. Changing halfway the season so you can't recognize the drivers anymore, also 6 different liveries with the same colors....
Falco van gaans IndyCar teams are not in a position to say no to other sponsors. Most do not have a full time sponsor so they need to have others throughout the year hence the different liveries from time to time.
@@rudyr7317 I'm not blaming the teams, I can fully understand their position. But they could implement a rule stating you need to complete the season in 1 livery, it would make things a lot less confusing and sponsor contracts will adapt to it in no time.
Falco van gaans that rule is literally impossible to implement by the series for the reasons I stated before. Teams have to fulfill livery requests in accordance with their sponsors, hence why Rossi had to go from Napa blue and yellow to GEES white and green because GEES was the primary sponsor for him at Texas.
@@rudyr7317 nothing is impossible, they have to fulfill the request because it's stated in the contract. If they don't allow livery changes the sponsors can't request it anymore and a livery contract will be for an entire season instead of seperate races.
first half of this race was GODAWFUL...single file thru the turns...crowd was bored chitless!...left at 210 laps... missed "BoneHead" Herta take out the best car all night Dickson
It was ok sucks that they changed the banking in 1 and 2 for absolutely no reason now you can't even race wheel to wheel around the high side gurantee Indy is the only oval race that will have constant action this year
Best racing on the planet right now!!
Absolutely. So exciting 👍
For about a decade

No surprise there - thumbnail photo gave the result away - yet again !!!
good thing i have short term memory loss
just kidding it was a stupid joke
Entertaining race on the track reconfig and it wasn't a pack race either. I'd say this year's speedway aero/tire package is a success.
The guy Sato hit took it like a champ 💪
He did, but I bet he feels like a bus ran him over the next day.
Was it just me or did he still run to the car immediately after getting up? That's dedication! Lol
I'm sure they said it on the broadcast, but I looked it up: that crew member was checked and released by the infield care center. So he just took a tumble, no injury!

Great race. Both superspeedway races this year were exciting. Maybe those winglets did the trick.
100lbs of downforce made a massive difference

Newgarden: -0
Rossi: -25
Pagenaud: -48
Dixon: -89
Sato: -95
Dat Rossi save though...
IAs a newcomer to Indy, from what I’ve seen Colton Herta is an excellent driver!
Gosh, that Sato's pit stop is same as Raikkonen in Bahrein 2018
Is Bahrein in Germany?

New Zealander... obviously a Dixon fan. He fukt up. Paid the price. Apologised for it afterward.
This makes me excited to see this as the first race of the season.
Better action as better commenting then in F1!🏎💥🏎👍
These need to be 45 minutes long.
24:20 Now that's racing. :)
Craig Sims F1 doesn’t even stay that close for the entirety of a race now ;-;
That would be penalty in F1

The Networks are all running scared of the internet. I've never subscribed to cable or satellite my entire life. I watch everything online.
the sponsors who support this series make NO money on streaming and few a majority of the audience (rightly) as cheapskates.
8:17 "we got a stop & go, we're fucked" 😂
did they not have tickets for sale....looks like stands are filled with friends and family only
have to admit it is better than F1 this season though :)
N7 getting P7..such a Mass Effect..that made no sense..but gj marcus
ah nice, I've been waiting for this video xD
I'd like to see Rossi in the Haas with K Mag. I think there would be fireworks.
I'd like to see Magnussen race bumper cars at his local fairground to be honest.

How did Veach go form being out to 38 laps behind then out again?
this is great racing. too bad we can't see it on TV in Canada anymore...
Punishment for Sato was needless. He had punished himself. What stunt! And how the crewman jumped back on his feet!
8:15 I THOUGHT THIS WAS A CHRISTIAN BROADCAST

About 225 mph/360 kph.

No there is the pit of andretti
I'm all for these ovals, however I hope this is the last run at Pocono later this year. That track is cursed.
Dixon has a several crash in Texas: 2012, 2016, 2017 and 2019. Sato was the real Sato in this race.
stands on the back straight totally empty.
I don’t think they sell those
