jesus. are there no old people in africa?
They die fairly young! highest mortality rate on the planet!
Africa is also the fastest developing continent. By the end of the century Nigeria will have more than 700 million people and there is a good chance it will become a major world power
No, there's just too much children and babies
@@merlijnp I said "too much" because even a fertility over 2 children per women is already a lot in a world overcrowded and exhausting the earth more each year. If even in european countries the birth rate is still higher than the death rate, this difference is very alarming in subsaharian countries (even with a very high children deaths, there are still at least 95% of african born that survive until adult age)
Shithole countries
What about Vatican City? I suspect that has the oldest citizens....
no
there are so many "Kids" in there 😜
I love how it's almost only Europe at the end haha😂
Monaco makes perfect sense as number 1. Most people get rich and move there.
please do life expetacy
Sure
I expect Japan to be the oldest.
... All lolis will have grown up :(
Spain and japan are the oldest countries , this rank is fake
@@thelegendsofdra7293i think there were some countries made before those two
@@thelegendsofdra7293 Spain is not that low, is the second with less birth rate
Oscar Peña lo se, el comentario esta mal escrito lo que quería decir es que hasta donde yo se, españa es el segundo país por detrás de Japón con menor natalidad, como tu dijiste
Interesting video, thanks for making. I'd say about 35-40 median age is probably the best which is in the midst of the working class. Below 25 and its either a risk of high death rate or signs of future overpopulation, and over 45 would suggest declining population in the immediate future. I think neither is necessarily good or bad unless viewed in the context of what the country could support. Japan has exhausted all resources and sensibly slowing itself down. Australia has maybe some growth potential but also on the upper end. India is the country that looks set to take off. Particularly Saharan Africa if it is able to lower its death rate, may explode in population, but those arid landscapes may not be able to support the high projections on future populations that are seen in these countries.

Portugal isn't an Hispanic country. Spain is.
Portugal isn't part of Latin America or the Americas.
As easy and simple as that.
@@azzary8523 French is a Romance language, mainly based on Latin. But Latin is usually people from Latin America.
@@Seroxm13 So you count as Latin only countries whose language is Spanish then. How about Brazil?
Cute reminder that young population means a high mortality rate.
So yeah .. the bottom is not cute.
@Tobey Osbourne The United States, India and China are examples of a lot of people being born per day yet their median age is not low. Specially in China and USA. That means people are living long lives.
You're both right actually, it's a combination of both factors. High mortality (most people die before getting old) + high birth rate (more younger people).
There is a correlation between education and high birth rate: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birth_rate
This is very evident in African countries, as they also dominate the bottom of this rank in this video (in most African countries women have many babies, yet people there die very young because of diseases and low quality of life).
The ideal is around the ranks of 85 to 55. Countries that have lots of old people but balanced by lots or young too.
After that it's a rapid downhill journey if too many old people and no one having babies.
He's their first 120 or so are all seeing people die too often

Some of these are a surprise to me. The US is younger than I thought. The UK is old. Europeans as a whole are old and Africa in the sub Saharan nations seem to be children.
Very very hight mortality rate in Africa fudges the numbers a bit too. I "believe" on average, the life expectancy rate is decades less than it is in the west.
djsabourin101 , Yes that would make sense.
@@djsabourin101 it's not just that, in europe the families have 1-2 children, in africa they have dozens of children. with that birth rate even if the life expectancy was 85 years as in the first countries the average age would still be very low.
It is about median age, not average.
Funny how Japan and Germany is side to side..😏 we all know what happened

Haha, I got your point :))
Africa... So young!!
Nice video btw
I knew Japan was gonna be on high on the list, but Monaco is on another level!
Probably because there are so few people in Monaco to begin with.
Not so many kids people move there when they are older and made a lot of money.

Monaco also tops the list for the longest life expectancy
Bright side: K-Pop's days are numbered.
KPOP IS GOOD YOU HATER!
High median age means that people on those countries live longer becouse of all the comforts rich countries have, on the other hand people die young cause they are poor with low quality of life!
@私の名前は関係ありません only poor countries make a lot of children, that's why they stay poor!

No children=no future
children were born in every country, it's just about the fact that death rate exceeds birth rate

Shocking how low the UK is...we have so many old people it strains the economy.
I live in the UK and I don’t think we have that many old people here, especially if you compare Britain to other developed nations.
Well, when iPhone 11's, swank living and going out every night, are more important than having children, that's kinda what you get. Not even mass immigration can curb it. I'm Canadian and well aware, the the "good life" has destroyed the future of Canada and the West in general. No kids, no future and no one to keep the economy going! kinda shitty!

Oh my God !!!!
Africa has a very long future, Europe is about to die and quite literally so
No. A young median age means uncontrolled birth rate and very high mortality rate which is common of 3rd world countries.
Societies with a high median age are not going to disappear, they are still birthing children but they have other priorities than popping out children like if they were rabbits. It's called sex ed.
@@kotosqoposrly keep saying that but when your people die those "rabbits" will replace you and then that sex ed would have been useless.
A very very high mortality rate and decades shorter life span, fudges the numbers a bit. But yeah, big population growth in Africa. We'll see how the poverty and future wars on that continent shape it. Might be a long miserable future.
@@mbathroom1 That is not how it works. If median age in Africa keeps lowering that would actually mean the disappearance of these societies as fertility rates would drop and consumption of resources will increase. Have you heard of life expectancy? Having a median age so low, means that Africans living in these countries won't even expect to live long enough to even occupy other places.
I wonder what is the best! To be young in a very poor country with bad quality of life or old in a very rich country and enjoy all the comforts like good medicine and doctors?
The africans are the youngest wow
Wheres is west bank
