That's amazing! Even though I'm in the states over the pond, that is a lot of work! Love the passion you guys have for the sport, not just a hobby, but a sport. You can't do drugs and have an rc for a passion! Thank you again
I agree with the Big Boss. Developers here in Australia flatten a nice piece of nature, put up units, all for it turn into a bloody rug shop or furniture shop, that inevitably goes bust 12 months later. Bonkers.
There used to be a great RC shop on the London Road in St. Albans back in the 1980s. I can't remember what it was called now though. It was in the basement of a music shop.
Awsome work guys, the pictures are a great way of seeing how much track you find, and hopefully you can get to the charged rc show. I’ll be there again. It was great last year.
Kidderminster has an abandoned track that just needs a clean up but no one uses it , it’s really sad that they don’t open it up & it’s nowhere near houses so noise isn’t a problem
The Kidderminster track was in use until March 2023. Unfortunately, the new landowner terminated the lease that the club had, as they want to ‘redevelop’ the land, so they had to close the track after being there for over 30 years. They have been unable to find a new venue since the closure.
Bravo fella's!! You look around in life and there's so many things we enjoy like junior sporting clubs and things like that and they all became who they are because guys exactly like yourselves got off their backsides and put the good of the community, family etc first and put in the hard yards to build them and thankfully as leaders people then followed and got in to help. You guys leading the way will hopefully be the impetuous for many others to come along and help so that the awesome track can be restored to its former glory. And if any local nags start whining I'd be asking where the hell they were when it was a quagmire full of rubbish and mud and why didn't they want the land then.. Good luck lads I hope this is a raging success! 👏👏
First track I ever attended from 87 thru 92 dwindled down a little bit in the mid 90s but was finished off for good when some fools burn down the driver stand. so hearing what you said really got my attention quick. Once in a while, I’ll go to Google maps and look up overhead shots of where tracks that I know of used to be just to see what’s there now. See if you still can see an outline of the track if only in terms of tree line. Honestly, it all sounds good but once it gets a bit of movement and more people involved, someone will get a whiff of it and axe it. probably when you’ve got it into point whereby someone else can use it for something else. -U10
back in 1990 myself and my dad and a few others managed to get some land an old BMX track to convert to a 1/8 nitro rallyx track we were also forced to close as the rostrum was burnt down twice it was on top of a storage container where all the track stuff was kept but the heat ruined everything and that was the end of that we were BORRCCC Burton Off Road Radio Controlled Car Club
Really good to hear you will be popping along to the charged RC event up here in Blackpool! Hopefully I will see you on the rostrum! I’m staying in St Albans for the British GP weekend so if we get time il have a nosey at the site and see the great work your doing! Keep it up!
M & C I spent my weekend in the middle of a river in Wales pulling out a double mattress I'm from West London TC3 please don't give up dreams happen your little superstars
Awesome pics and great update! Tracks need to be so far out of towns that selfish idiots can't get near them and vandalise them. Or put security fencing around it but that costs a lot of money.
They are still on the site and running but the land owners plans to develop mean the ability to run bigger events is going to be a challenge in the future.
Well done boys! ill have to try get down there and do a bit the tire wall at the bottom of the straight is still there. Me and a few mates actually cleared the whole track about 15 odd years ago!
Normally i dont like to see channels that dont speak american english is that makes sense its just annoying to me but these two lol love them if theyre accent cool dudes i would definitely Have a beer with them, as far as this project goos luck guys will be tunning in to see
Wow, that is really cool guys! I can sort of tell where that straightaway part by the fence line is, in the photos. I bet people will come together and restore it to a community RC track. That would be EPIC🤞
I think you claim squatters rights on the land 👍after putting in the work it's the least anyone could do. Camp on the land protest for something worthwhile not something happening in a different country 💪
Growing? In Europe for sure. Asia, yes. Still going strong on the west coast of the US, sure. But here in Michigan…… not so much. We have one place and it’s not popular, not nice, and basically no racing culture. I guess I have to move.
Speak to the local MP's, ward counsellors and mayor if possible and get them all to back the initiative, because the last thing you want is, to do all the hard work clearing the area and then somone comes along with a piece of paper and a roll of red tape and says you can't use it 🤞🤞

That would be so cool to run with the trees and everything. Brilliant work. Hope you get the freedom to make something great from it.
Fingers crossed

Great little history story within the video. Great stuff .

That place was built to last. Can't wait to see it cleared out.

it has the potential to be a cracking little space for hobbyists

that is our worry too
I reckon lads you leave the trees in there and keep it a casual fun track, would be very unique!
that is what we are thinking too
I hope you guys can get that track back to the way it was and they will allow you to use it the way it was intended to be used.

awesome
My back is still aching from the shovelling and brushing clearing that green lush yesterday. Yet my mate did most of the work.
haha looking forward to seeing the progress.
@@PopalongRC Yeah, we were as respectful as possible. Racing at Stevenage Thursday night.
The amount of things I litter picked there were not cool though.
@@PopalongRC The white bin bag is pretty filled up now. Might have to see what to do with that next.
@SonnyBurnett85 as long as it is full of litter I think it can be transferred to the bins from the bike hut . Just check with them first …

how bug were the tree then
@@PopalongRC we cut most of them back to shrub size!
@chuck8e5t don’t think we can do that now

I would jump the big pond….! If you had an iconic cup 2025…! All the way from Milwaukee Wisconsin to rip my buggy’s on your track…..!!!!!!🍻🍻🍻🍻
hahahaha wishful thinking
"undigging" does that mean you're now back filling the uncovered track??? 😂😂😂
one take videos .. sometimes we get our words muddled
Just a thought but as it’s in the woods and it’s a little dirty etc, make it a 1/10 rally track , that would work perfectly imo 🤔
that is what we have been thinking too
theres a one by me just out side wrexham north wales in the woods it was for touring cars sad its not used any more
get your shovels out lad
Once you complete uncovering this track are you going to leave at asphalt are you going to put Clay on it for dirt cars? Or make it for on-road cars?
spending hour digging the dirt off the track.... we think it will be ideal for offroad given its location
Does anyone remember the old moira race track near swadlincote or have any old pictures I want to recreate it on some farm land I have
