hi, i used pump foam sprayer with Carpro Lift to prewash.. but i found this method is very time consuming, a full pump only can foam 1 panel, and the foam is not thick as snow foam cannon.... so im looking in different way to prewash, any suggestion from you?
@@DerickHo Whats good champ! There are a variety of ways on how to perform an APC Pre Wash. While the tool that applies the mixture on the vehicle is subjective and all personal preference, the idea is the same that it needs to be dispensed on the car. By any chance do you have a pressure washer with a foam cannon? 🤔
@@DerickHo Yeah, unfortunately there is no "easy" way to perform a prewash under such circumstances. Technically speaking, you do not need a foam sprayer but a regular liquid sprayer to apply the solution on. The foam realistically speaking is not necessary and is mostly just visuals. I personally had stopped using foam pump sprayers for the same reason that I get a full arm workout for such small work areas.
I love watching your RUclips channel because I think you have the best method of actually cleaning cars. I used to use a pH neutral do foam pre-wash and it actually did nothing. Up here in Michigan there's a lot of grease and the salt from the roads stick to the car like cement I now you super clean on every pre wash and use it on a one-to-one dilution ratio in my foam cannon and it works absolutely amazing I now have a clean car and sometimes I don't even do the contact wash in the winter when it's 0° out and it still looks amazing with only vey minimal deggredation of my spray sealant
Thank you for the kind words Champ! 😎👉👉 i'm glad my information is helpful to you and your details. I'm surprised not many people know this and wonder why they left a lot of swirls, marring, or the dirt just didn't come off. 🤦♂️ Just keep in mind using stronger dilutions can degrade the finish quicker, so use it sparingly and not in a maintenance setting ☝️ Other than that, it's a helpful method! Good luck on your details champ!
I use seal&shine it’s pretty chemical resistant so I don’t hesitate to throw some super clean in my foam cannon as my pre wash. Plus using it as a drying aid I can throw the protecting right back on after the wash it’s not that big a deal
Great video! The apc could act better when the surface is dry or any pre wash for that matter. I think if a car has no protection on it, it's probably irrelevant what to use, the stronger the better as long as it's safe for the clear coat. What I've learnt is actually amazing how these dirty oils bead the water off the surface😯😯
Oh for real! And the water beading is what makes it even more frustrating! 😡 logically, if the water beads very likely the cleaner would also bead making inconsistent results. so, at that point, using a stronger cleaner would be more effective. 🤔 This doesnt happen too often where I live since it is mostly sunny, but still a pain when I encounter it 😂
what would be your take on a rinse less wash to the same degree of dirt on this vehicle? I see other detailers videos that do that and follow it with a contact wash with the foam sponge and say that its safe.
It is swirling the paint for sure as a Rinseless, Waterless, and Quick Detailer will never be as slick and safe as traditional soap. 🧼 Not that it doesn't work, but I dont think i have to explain what happens when you wipe the surface with borderline water 🤔
Great demonstration video on the products. For pre-treating the overall car, do you have a favorite method APC or wash? For using degreaser, it should only be applied to certain parts of the car not whole car?
Thanks for the feedback Danny! 🔥🔥 I will break it down for you! Car Soap Pre Wash: I would use this for maintained cars, specifically pH neutral. Cars that are well maintained and regularly washed dont need that alkaline kick, so a gentle soap will break down the fresh grime with ease! APC/Alkaline Soap Pre Wash: These chemicals I would use on neglected vehicles with a bombardment of impurities. These alkaline solutions are ideal for excessive traffic film, old bird bombs, sap, months of dirt, etc. Do not use this method on maintained cars. Degreaser Pre Wash: Now I have used a degreaser at 1:1 or Full Strength as a pre wash before but ONLY AS A LAST RESORT. This is for those grungy vehicles, like the NASTY ones. You will definitely need to slap it with some high alkaline solution to properly breakdown everything so you have an easier contact wash. This is a great "one time thing" method, but I would not advise this if you do not have much knowledge/experience with degreasers. Hopefully this answered your question Danny! Thank you for the feedback! 😎👍
I would strongly advise you look into either a ceramic coating or PPF if it happens everyday as constantly exposing the paint to degreasers can degrade the finish through time. If you wash the car weekly and it occasionally appears, then no, you dont have to apply it every time. I would only advise this method should the contamination not come off with a gentler pretreatment or prewash. Hopefully this makes sense 🤔
Can a degreaser be used without a pressure washer? I'm apartment living and was thinking of getting one of those 2 gallon pump sprayers to rinse the prewash off before i do my rinseless wash.
Yeah, just water to rinse the degreaser. I had previously been presoaking with my absolute rinseless but since watching your videos, i want to use the degreaser to really get rid of the road grime before my mitt wash. Thanks for the videos! Great info.
SL Degreaser is quite economical actually if you get the gallon. I've actually compared 4 other APCs and Degreasers and this one from Streamline has great "one shot" capabilities. Of course, whatever floats your boat at the end of the day 😎
The comment I wanted I been using super clean myself and it definitely a awesome cleaner for a lot of things but I can seem to find the ratio that’s best for situations like this removing 60-70 percent of dirt and grime So your staying streamline surpasses super clean for a pre wash I’m asking as I want to find the best pre wash ?
what is the best pre-wash? 🤔 that is a tough question to answer, since I am still researching and finding the best one. as for the Degreaser, I've actually used super clean for a very long time, I switched to Streamline only because it is automotive focused (stronger chemistry) compared to Super Clean that is consumer friendly (not just for detailing). both have their respective used cases and it is up to you at that point. 😉 they both work great!

i drive my car to NYC sometimes twice a week and its mostly on 95 my car gets caked with road grime. i have tried a few products and the results were at Koch chemie results.
Hmm 🤔 Strangely i get that too! It's usually APCs, but that is kinda expected since they were "not designed" to clean grease. Which is what TF is made of.
Very interesting I suppose there are 4 methods of attack. APC, degreaser, tfr and citrus prewash. Do you have to potential to replicate the same scenario but with 4 chemical types? My APC is a degreaser, so its good to see I've sort of made a decent choice. O, and the camera work is good. Very obvious which chemical was most effective
Thank you for the feedback champ! 😎🙏 honestly, most degreasers will react the same. However, depending on how soiled the grime is, some all purpose cleaners can actually do the job! The APC did not work here, unfortunately, because of the excessive amount of contamination. 🤔 so dilute accordingly! ☝️
I did a car today , sticky full of sap I used super clean diluted 2 ounces of chemical to 30 ounces of water and it cleaned the sap right off, there where still some stains left where the sap ate into the clear coat but a buff with compound should take that right off
APC / Degreaser I would let it sit for about 20-30 seconds. Of course use common sense if you are in dry weather, direct sunlight, and other non ideal work environments 😎 ☀️ 🚗
Using a pre treatment can aid the pre wash! 🫧 While yes it is an additional step, without a doubt it will be a much safer process given you are not touching the vehicle. Pre wash is great on maintained or recently dirty cars. Pre treatment is best on vehicles hammered with impurities and have been sitting around for too long. Which is what happened to my van 😭 hopefully this answers your question! 😉
Foam or not, as long as it touches the paint, it is the same chemical reaction 😎 I will admit Foam clings much better than liquid, but I showed it here for folk who do not have a pressure washer foam cannon nor foam pump sprayer 🤔
@@CardosCarDose check out Yumcars citrus or stjarnagloss först. There's supposedly a concentrated version of först coming soon but it's a great product already. @@CardosCarDose yeah I can relate to that, and honestly the price isn't the best so I'm holding out for the concentrate to see how much better it is from a financial standpoint. Especially when the 3D nano pails are $30 and you can make the equivalent of 5 gallons of product.
