Thanks for sharing info on the mug press. My husband just bought me a cricut mug press and the stuff that goes with it during the hobbylobby sale. I am very happy with it and I am looking forward to creating my own designs for the mugs.
You always make me laugh. I love my cricut press. I made so many mug with my mug press, cricut products never failed me. It was the best investment I ever done. ❤

Great video, the sublimation paper I have states it should be heated for 180secs but the Cricut mug press takes approx 8 mins, does this matter or should I stop the process after 180s.

OK FINALLY videos that are like for us normal humans and not super hero I've been crafting since the womb humans!!!!! LOVE THIS CHANNEL!!!! LOVE THIS VIDEO!!! So, are you only allowed to use the cricut mug press infusible ink sheets for the mug press or can you use any cricut infusible ink sheets? (inpatient crafters r us!!!) About to watch your sublimation for beginner because I think I'm the only person left who doesn't know what it means!!!!
Hey Bevy! So glad you enjoy the videos! You can use this with any of the Infusible Ink sheets as long as your design is sized for the mug, and Sublimation works wonderfully in the press also, as does HTV (with modifications). Hope this helps! ---Becky
Hi, I really LOVE your videos! I have been having issues with sublimating my photos on the Cricut mug with the Cricut Mug Press. The colors come out looking bad, almost like a negative in some spots. I am using A-Sub Sublimation paper, ET-2720 printer with Cosmo's ink. Is there a way I can show a picture here? Maybe you will have some advise for me. I'm really disappointed and was SO looking forward to making mugs for family and friends. Thanks in advance for ANY advise you can give me.
Hi Lori, I'm sorry for the troubles! I don't believe you can post photos here, but you could reach out to our Customer Support team as we do have some members who sublimate -- mail@designbundles.net.
Hi Becky, thanks for the awesome video! Is the mug press definitely okay for sublimation inks as I was told by another mug press supplier it burns the inks (however I’m sceptical that they’re just saying that to get me to buy theirs) Hope you can reply😊
I found this with my Cricut mug press, far too hot for too long, it overcooked and made the black ink brown. I adjusted the temp to lower and then reduced the time manually time and removed mug at 5 mins and hey presto, black is now black, it possibly will be done at lesser time too.
@@karenbalmbro3159 Hi Karen, Thanks for this- I ended up buying it before your replied and my results have been fantastic. Glad to hear that you managed to sort it too!
@@liam77877 Hi Liam, did you adjust temp to low too? I've got the timing to a manual 4 mins now for sublimation and I leave it to auto timing for Cricut Infusible Ink Sheets, works well at this for me :)
@@karenbalmbro3159 Hi Karen, Nope I didn’t need to change it luckily but sounds like this will be a handy tool for the future, if I have to use different mug types. I just use standard A-sub sheets and my Epson printer. Works a treat.

Thanks
Hi Becky, thanks for your videos. I have a question: I have a sublimation printer and a Cricut mug Press. Although I love how it works, my prints are too dark once they have been in the Cricut mug press. Any resolutions on that one ?
hmmm sometimes that is because there is too much heat, i did a full long image where the main colour background was a sage green but i left it in my non cricut mug press for 10 seconds past the time and it turned the sage green into a dark green. though you can not change heat settings on the cricut. maybe if all imaages end up darker...lighten the image in what ever software you use. tbh i do this sometimes as they can still end up darker than what i see on my monitor
Hi Becky. Can you use iron on paper to put a photo or image on a mug using the same process? Would it be washable or dishwasher safe? Actually is the sublimation dishwasher safe? Thanks
Hey Sasha! Sublimation is dishwasher safe for sure, but I have not tried any type of iron on transfers with mugs, but you can use waterslide and bake it on. I'll link you to our video on doing that. Hope this helps! ---Becky ruclips.net/video/SfYisN9Z9YM/видео.html
Have you done designs where it is basically a full coloured thing sheed that goes near both sides of the handles? as i was wondering if there are issues with this press where it is not even heat and so get fading? i bought a £40 mug press and tbh its very sturdy but i have noticed i have to make sure the full long image ends maybe 1cm both sides of the hands as the heat pad does not reach that far BUT the ends of the image are still faded
It sounds like where there is fading there is not enough heat or pressure being applied there. Which may be the case since it is likely not covered as much by the mug press because it is near the handle.
I read through the comments and realized that no one asked this question. I am new to cricut and sublimation, I am just wondering if you have to seal the mugs after sublimating (is this a word?) on them. Also do I have to have a sublimation printer to do this? Can I print on a sublimation paper using a regular ink jet printer?
I did exactly as you showed but the tape , where it sticks the design to the mug transferred yellow to the mug?? This is tape that came with my Sawgrass sublimation printer. The mug is ruined. Am I doing something wrong?
Hi Sue! I'm sorry to hear the mug is ruined! It sounds like it may have been the tape that is leaving the marking. You may want to reach out to Sawgrass as it's their brand to see if they have any suggestions. We used this brand here in the video: amzn.to/3ue5pWw
I used the same approach with my mug press. I was able to do 10 mugs perfect and clean; then the next day all the mugs were staining with the tape. Any idea why the tape is leaving yellowish stains on my mugs? Note: my design wraps around, so I tape all the edges - top/bottom and sides.
Please help Everytime I press on my cricut mug press I get black specs all over my mug 😭😭 I’m so frustrated I’ve gone through at least 15 mugs all bad I can’t afford all these mess ups
Hey Adri! Sublimation prints (on sublimation paper) can be printed in advance and they hold up well overtime as long as they are stored in a cool dry place. I have personally used ones in excess of 18 months, but I haven't tested prints I've had longer than that time. Hope this helps! ---Becky
@@DesignBundles thank you so much! It does! 😊 I also have one more question! I just recently tried sublimation on the cricut mug press and noticed the heat tape burnt a little on the mug! Do you have a solution for that?🥰
Hey Nancy, from what I understand, the Cricut Mug press can be adjusted slightly, there are instructions on the Cricut website. BUT, since there's no exact way to set the temperature (and you would have to count the time yourself) then I don't think I would recommend this press for lower temp or time sublimation projects. Hope this helps! ---Becky

@@DesignBundles thanks for replying, I should have explained myself more, I was thinking more of another press not the cricut, we don’t have these in the UK 😊

I prepared the mug, graphic and tape just as you did to no avail. I used the Epson 15000, A sub paper and butcher paper. Any help would be appreciated.
Hey SassyB, it could be the tape or it could be the mug. My first guess is the type of tape you used, have you considered trying an adhesive spray? That would help but you may need to wash any residue off after sublimating. Hope this helps! ---Becky
