    I use the videos as a general guideline and the comments to fine tune the process, thanks to everyone who contributed to my brake job. I hope this finally fixes the issues I'm having after I paid someone to do a terrible job less than a year ago.

    Hahahahaha hahahahaha you put the pads on wrong there MR. MECHANIC!!! The pad with the ears got to the piston side and the ones without go the outer side.

    Like others have mentioned. PADS INSTALLED WRONG! I dont do many brake jobs so I mark the old pads for instance LF outer , LF inner. Match them up with the new pads. He installed 2 inner pads (with the humps) on the same wheel. Those Humps fit into the holes on the Inboard side of the caliper. Caliper Pins also; Clean and grease them one at a time so you dont get them mixed up. Sometimes top and bottom pins are different.

    Why didn't you lube the slider pins and add new boots?

  • @vannmann9597

    Don't you have to adjust the parking break shoes (loosen) to get rotor off? Then readjust after you put new rotor on? This is why I tuned in to this video. I didn't see him do that.

    You put the wrong pads on the front. The 2 pads with the tabs are suppose to go behind the rotor. They are for the pistons to get 100% contact. You put both on one side.

    The guy installed 2 inboard pads on the left front. The pads with the 2 "humps" go inboard against the caliper pistons, outside pads have no humps. Can't believe he got the caliper on.

    So did you destroy the front right rim to that truck? You put two inner brake pads on the driver side. The inner pads have those ears or bumps on them. The caliper is now sticking out and will grind the inside if the wheel. Cmon guy.

    Just scratching my head I never did see any part of did you break the bleeder valves open and catching that fluid into a container while compressing each piston back into caliper's I did this with an old clear hose from a fish tank into an old brake fluid bottle . Also tested the fluid with an electronic brake fluid tester from my auto parts counter man he said it will show you if any contamination pretty neat little tool afterwards topped off master cylinder with new

      Just did my rears on my 2007 F-150 super crew 4x4 last night although I didn't use this brand I went with Wagner pads and a comparable rotor to OEM I still cleaned the caliper real good where the old clips rested then put a little XO rust paint on the cleaned area where clips mount just a little extra protection even sprayed some on inside of the clip where it mates with caliper housing I live in Chicago so understand the salt used here in winter lol

      Pause the video @ 4:53. Notice the two "ears" or rounded "humps" (one on each side of his thumb). Those are only on the inboard pads. The outboard pads have no humps. Installing them incorrectly ( like in this video) can actually kick the caliper out enough to dig into your truck's wheels.

    • @blackericdenice

      They just need to be tight. I've never had brake bolts to come loose in 32 years.

    • @jameshutchinson5469
      @jameshutchinson5469 4 года назад

      You are correct. Tightening the bolts too tight could cause shearing. Lets not forget the two bolts that hold the caliper to the bracket. Those are just as important and should be torqued to 35 ft/lbs.

    If you have electric rear brakes, you need to know how to put the truck into maintenance mode to work on the brakes , switching from service mode. Go back to service mode after the brakes are completely installed.
