You missed a critical step of illustrating which pads go on the inside and which go on the outer side. The pads with the tabs or “ears” go on the inside towards the hub
Personally I always re-grease the caliper slide pins. But thats just me.
No lube on the new brake pad clips and the ears of the pads before install??
Also, I thought adding a bit of lube to the back of the fins of the caliper and the front of the pistons that contact back of pads is generally recommended to prevent any vibration and squeal. I have always done this and never had an issue. Am I wrong? Doing it for no reason? If I can get away without and have less grease to attract dust and dirt, that is a plus. I generally service my brakes every tire swap (fall, spring).
Are these good for towing a 7500 Travel Trailer through the mountains of Colorado or would dimpled rotors be better?
No torque wrench? I’m running the powerstop extreme kit and love them
Great video, thanks.
Ok thank you for your help
Tightening the caliper bolts with a air gun is not recommended and while your brackets are off clean them and use caliper lube when lubing the pins. Wheel bearing grease gums up
please help. if the break caliper comes can it be put back in and how 2018 f150 electric break
Thinking about putting these on my 2013 F150. Does anybody recommend it?
Kroil,..best penetrating oil made....also kills rust....like the kit , but not the drilled rotors, slotted maybe. Worried about stress cracks around the holes
Might be late to the party but I got these for my 2013 f150 fx4 and they don't fit, had to get new calipers also.
How long should I expect these rotors to last? 40-50k?
why dont you sell calipers
are stop tech really 2x better than power stop like the price shows. are they both from china ?
The extra cost is only validated by extra stopping power which you didn't test with braking distance testing before and after.
David we'll keep that in mind for future brake videos and testing! Thanks for the feedback!
Trucks don't need ventilated discs, there for racing. Just use decent ceramic pads
Can these work an my 2012 twin turbo EcoBoost F-150
They sure will!
Why cant you just say what the break in is? Why need it? I never had to do that before. Had no problems
What is the price of this kit for the 2010 ford raptor 5.4 curious

So my rear rotors in this kit don’t want to slide on as easy as this in the video... 🤔
The rotors wont slide over the studs? Or do you possibly mean the caliper won't slide over the rotor?
Did anyone mention cracking the bleeder screw BEFORE compressing the pistons so as to not send fluid back up to the cylinder?
No, do not open the bleeder, you will introduce air into the brake system; only remove the master cylinder cap/lid to relieve the air when the piston is pushed in.
@@FloridaCoastalGuy
If you open the bleeder and introduce air into the system… you’re doing it wrong.
@@notacreativehandle -
You said open the bleeder, not me!
@@FloridaCoastalGuy
Nah ah, that’s you dude. You mentioned introducing air into the system which only tells me you have yet to figure out how to crack the bleeder without bringing air into the system.
Use a vinyl hose, attach it to the bleeder, and keep the hose vertical so that air is not introduced. Simple concept.
@@notacreativehandle Go back and read the first comment; you are the first one to mention "cracking the bleeder screw BEFORE compressing", not me. I was correcting your comment; so no one would actually screwup and do what you said. I can tell that you rode the Short Bus to School!
The rotors are directional that means right side and left side. I have an 02 f150 4x4. Your video shows the wrong rotors on the wrong side.
FYI, brake mounting fasteners are considered single use and should be replaced when performing service work.
State your source please
@@homerog4920 I'm guessing your not a professional wrench. Been at a dealer for over 15yrs. I'll pull the doc numbers tomorrow from work and update. thanks.
@@malloymotorsports780 i work on my own stuff and am not worried of suing myself which is probably why you have to replace every fastener with a new one to protect your behind🤷🏻♂️ dont blame ya!! Im just quite curios and inquisitive id appreciate that. Id so i could post my email so you can send me the doc. Thanks
@@homerog4920 I agree and I think it's how warranty can deny claims. if a warranty brake repair is performed and all the fasteners are not charged out, the entire claim is bounced. This is just not for brakes. almost every single suspension fastener is considered 1 time use and I feel it's the manufacture that is waiting for the dealers to slip up.
What I saw here is that does are directional rotors and he installed the rights on the left side...
It's Camera magic Javier
@@stage3motorsports come on…
No torque specs... hmmmm
Nice install video. Kinda surprised that after taking the time to clean the caliper brackets you didn’t take a little more time to clean and possibly paint the calipers themselves.
Steve Steve I’m surprised that after taking the time to write and idiotic comment you didn’t take a little more time to add more idiotic remarks.
Steve Smith ; stupid this is a video about putting new brakes on !
@@Pens4Life85 - I ignore those people. They are usually just upset because their Wing and Fart Can arrived late from Autozone.

My man, brake cleaner isn't great for your skin. Wear some nitrile gloves, sir.
"The stock brake rotors and pads on your f-150 were never much to write home about." Really? They stop the truck. Did you expect them to drive it for you?
Do your reviews.
Drilled holes in yr rotors are not good!!!!!
Makes yr brakes wear out faster.
Bill Peirce and more likely to squeak
Stupid back rotors are too big to use the rotator removing tool....
warped in a year.......
You need to remove 2018 FROM YOUR FUCKING VIDEO!
