The “jade” color offered in cr39 by Jacque Marie Mage, is absolutely my favorite green tint; it’s a very saturated yellow-green, and the relaxing effect, along with the contrast during bright or cloudy conditions, make it really nice.
That’s a beautiful one for sure! I make one like that custom for a few customers occasionally. It fits the more vintage aesthetic and is absolutely stunning when done right
Great vid as usual. My could only have one lens would be RE's AGX. Though for driving always reach for my Serengeti brown from the early 90's. Lastly always preferred Larrivee to Gibson plugged and unplugged :-)
I’ve been digging the Serengeti 555nm polarized (it’s also available non polarized I believe) lately. It’s versatile. It doesn’t shift colors (much.) it’s category 3 and (somewhat) photochromic. I almost always wear a hat so the photochromic aspect is only marginally effective for me. I find it dark enough for most uses but not so dark that I have difficulty with being too dark in shade or mid day overcast. The only thing I personally don’t think green is a good choice for is snow (I’ve not tried this color on the water.) I’m not sure why that is. The greens I’m familiar with are in the green/gray realm (555nm, AGX, G-15) so I cannot compare them to the more pale category 2 lenses. It seems to me that green lenses seem to have the Rodney Dangerfield syndrome that despite being capable in bright or medium conditions and enhancing contrast without too much of a color shift, the color just isn’t super popular and doesn’t get any respect. In fact, if you don’t count the classic aviator (Ray Ban mostly but RE and AO as well) ) sunglasses, they are rather unpopular. Even in the Revo line, the Blue water lens gets the vast majority of attention despite the Evergreen lens being a nice lens. Great information and video, as usual. Cheers
My Serengeti 555nm lenses have a subtle colour shift between darker and lighter conditions. Serengeti's website states "In low light conditions, this lens allows more yellow and green to pass through, creating relaxing conditions for the eyes". I do notice than in overcast light they are more green with a hint of yellow for more contrast, changing to more of a neutral gray under bright sun.
@@GreatIaker I agree. I was comparing the 555nm as having minimal color shift as compared to brown/copper/amber or other high contrast colors, not necessarily that it’s color remains exactly the same as it lightens or darkens. I only notice to subtle color shift in general when the greens dominate the scenery. I’m out west where it’s much browner than the east so I don’t notice much color shift. Especially when compared to say the Costa 580G copper which, while a pleasing lens to the eye, definitely distorts and shifts colors much more. Especially reds. Now I’ve noticed the 555nm blue mirror which is a cat 2-3 lens and much lighter does shift to a more yellow view. This is probably intended as it’s more of a low-medium light lens. I personally do not like yellow lenses and the 555nm Blue mirror is about as yellow as I care to go but is very useful for slate gray overcast days. My eyes are light sensitive so I wear sunglasses even on cloudy days (which are actually rather rare where I live) but there’s still lots of UV getting through the clouds. Cheers
Dang could you point me in the direction of a really bright green tinted lens I’m looking for a glass that really makes grass and foliage pop?, I would guess a green lens with a red mirror would have been money for that.
@jesseburgara181 the best lens for that will generally be a brown actually. As it mutes blues and really let’s the greens and reds sing. The Maui bronze HCL does a good job there as does the kaenon super contrast brown or whatever it was they call it. Actually very impressive how much reds in particular pop with theirs. This bright green with red flash was most often described as “like being on acid” 😂🫣

Recently got a new pair of glasses from an online store. They were progressives. When filling out what prescription was that site under ADD my prescription said +0.95 for both Lt and rt. So when filling it out online it didn't have that value it only had ADD +1.00 would the added little bit effect vision much? I've never bought online and figured to give it a try because of how expensive they are not online.
Most eyes can't even see a difference of 0.12 side by side 🙂. 0.95 I'd a specific add for a specific branded anti fatigue lens and not progressive lens. The wearing affect will be similiar and ultimately achieves the same result... I actually prefer a progressive over most anti fatigue lens designs once you cross 0.75 add 🙂

I really need to take a new look at Serengeti again.

What is that pair of glasses with the red mirror?
That was the T Henri Countach in colorway Octane Sun.
Sold out world wide, unfortunately. I sold the last one in my store about 5 months ago :/

Some people, like myself, who have migraines, can get reliefe wearing green tinted glasses. Especially if the migraine is triggered by bright light.

Good morning from the Philippines
Good evening from the US 😁
Glasses for Asian noses!
T henri does a good job there! But for ergonomics for an Asian bridge TC Charton does it even better!!!
