I am breaking my hinges repeatedly. My optimetrist supplies frames and when I asked optometrist office aide for extra durable frame and hinge , she stated donot supply. Small town Canada. . What do I ask for to get hinges like on your green glasses? 5 rivet extra thick. Are there brands?

Spring hinges are really needed for all the guys that their face/nose is not perfect. My nose is a little crooked so spring hinge temples are the best. I love my Maui Jim Kawika. I own the foldable Vuarnet Legend 02 and the hooked temples legend 02. They both are awesome although their don't fit perfect to my face.

Hello, I am writing from Turkey. I have been using glasses for about 2 years. I bought a new pair of glasses this year. I bought the kodak glass. I bought polycarbonate glass. But within a week, even though I dropped it on the floor and only wiped it with a glasses cloth, it started to get scratched and stained. Is there a lens you can recommend for this? Should I use mineral or polycarbonate?

For people with extremely high prescriptions, is it unheard of for people to split the powers between contact lenses and a pair of eyeglasses? Seems like a funny thing to wear both contacts and eyeglasses at the same time, but my theoretical mind thinks there might be specific cases where that might be the best option. I am curious if that actually happens in the real world.

For bifocals, I prefer frames with a smaller lens height so that I can raise or lower the way my glasses sit on my face. For computer work, I raise the glasses on my face so that my entire pupil sees through the lower portion. I can't do that if the lens height is too big. Am I the only one with this preference?

I use glasses because I'm always on computer and I have been having eye strain (specially with my right eye) for over week I had to Google it and it got me here Thanks sir I should definitely replace my glasses. Im a Bond and sunglass addict. Im also Very light sensitive too. These sunglassses are excellent, matching protection with ny Maui Stingrays with grey polarised lenses. If the Vuaney brown lynx was polarised too, WOW!

I bought new glasses from an independent optometrist, they were really flawless in the first few days but when I wipe the lenses, they got this hazy film particularly in the area where the coatings had been done, my glasses are multicoated (Photochromic, blue-block & anti-glare). I talked to my optometrist, she told me she had never heard of the issue with past works and said she would gladly change them for me. Same experience with the new ones, flawless at first but with the first wipe with microfiber cloth, everything is smeared here and there as if there was oil coating and it is smeared everywhere. During daylight, it is tolerable but at nightime with various artificial light sources, the smudging/haziness gives these flares around lights sources and it is really difficult to look at them or drive vehicles. I have washed it with water alone, nothing happened, what should i try next?

I've never even tried anything other than polycarbonate. I'm ready for a change. I was thinking CR-39 or Trivex. Are they still a decent option if i can't find/afford glass?

What do you recommend i do with metal framed fake glasses with no actual screws? The closest I've got is the things holding the nose protector thingies that don't do anything about the lense.

I have some tortoise shell ray ban wayfarers that have oxidized and the temples are stretched out due to a big head wearing them! Now they don’t fit me…is there any way you could repair and polish them for me???

Can you please tell me what is "super bad" about tight fitting lenses? Can it cause vision distortion? I'm stuck in an endless cycle (almost 1 year!) of seeing the eye doc and lens redo's and keep having distortion no matter what tweaking is done--including multiple lens materials! I came here because I was trying to swap out lenses to compare different versions, and I can't get any lenses back into my plastic frame (even with heat). It seems impossible that they would fit, so I'm wondering if all the attempts have been too large/tight, which may be causing the distortion...

As someone with eyes that have about 3x the sensitivity to light as an average healthy person, I can't function without heavily tinted lenses during the day and a moderate tint in urban environments at night. Just because our society has chosen to create night blindness via intense white lights after dark doesn't mean I have to participate.
