I assume that would be the job for the SFX power supply fan to remove the excess heat from inside the chassis. Which in their case wasn't removed due to them using a fanless PSU.
I am the owner of this server. Let me explain the 32-core, 24-core question. In anandtech's article, the server had an EPYC 7551(first generation EPYC, 32core, 180W), after that article, we update the CPU to EPYC7402p (second generation EPYC, 24core, 180W) and buy some PCIE cards, then send it (without further test) to LTT. That's the reason why we do not find a toasty network card in the initial review article. See anandtech's article for details about the 32 core system(Power outside, only have CPU and GPU, without PCIE cards). I will make my own review for the 24-core system.
Also, see this video for details. Full load the EPYC 7551 and RTX2070 for 60 hours in the Turemetal UP10 case (ruclips.net/video/6dlTz-ju4xg/видео.html)

You can't measure metal with IR heat/thermal imaging sensors. The emissivity of the material is way too different in order to let you get accurate readings. And that doesn't mean "off by 15c", it can mean off by hundreds of degrees. I very much doubt that network card was at 120c+, and the ssd certainly wasn't at 80c+. Don't kid yourself into thinking you can calibrate it to reflective metal either, because you can't. Either use a probe type thermometer, or use software readings. Or put an adhesive (e.g. black tape) where you want to measure, then measure that instead of the surrounding area, so long as your emissivity is calibrated it will be the same temperature as whatever it's stuck to.
They should know that, that had to use tape in their cell phone heat test a while back due to the screens being too reflective. Not sure why they didn't do that here.

In the system stability test, it was fully loaded for 60 hours. The M2 SSD used at the time was also fitted with a good passive heat sink. This network card was purchased by the buyer of this case and sent to me before I send to LTT. If he chooses a network card with bad cooling design, it's not my problem, because I am only the supplier of the case. Service and modification are just mutual help between hardware players. Because buyers of this server will not have such a high load in his real useage,so the configuration is more aggressive to pursue higher transient burst performance.

Well on the upside there are a lot parts and systems on the market now that are basically silent yet still use fans. If you use large fans or multiple fans you can run lower rpms and move the same amount of air. My 3900x with a 2070 super in an 011 dynamic case with an AIO makes almost no noise unless I am benchmarking it or something.
@@crylune Why would you doubt it? Most of the time the fans never really spin up in my system. And when they do they don't run that fast or for that long. In a system like that, I think it would have been a good idea to just install a PSU with a large slow fan so that you had some movement of air within the case for all the components that rely on convection cooling within the case. Otherwise, that system may suffer an early grave if left under heavy load often due to accelerated capacitor aging.

2-4 high quality fans at inaudible low rpms, pushing air out the sides (you could maybe put some holes into the side heatsinks between the fins) would greatly better themals for the internal components, yet add no audible noise. like 80/92mm noctuas at 300rpm. could even be thermal controlled and only active on high i/o load or something. but all in all: great high quality case. its great to see something so well made out of a small companys hand.
There is only ONE of YOU in the world, so be careful on the streets, as do not ever walk with your hands in your pocket. There is a reason why the military teaches that. See if you have enough brainpower to figure out why.
Thats beyond beautiful. I would 100% install a couple low rpm noctua fans into this. I mean those expensive low rpm fans make no difference in noise but the difference in cooling is insanely high.
10 gigs cards are definitely toasty even without load. They are designed to fit one slot in well ventilated chassis. I'm surprised there are no heat pipes for it in this build.
I remember me having a similar no-noise Zalman case about a decade ago. That baby had lots of copper heatpipes covering the whole black anodized body, but the neatest thing ever was the quality of the 4 castors at the bottom. It didn't look like an air-cooled two stroke bike engine like the one you have there.
Make sure to align the brick with the little insulating pads at 9:49 so the power supply doesn't short circuit and come into contact with the rest of the system.

I'll stick with that, thank you. Btw I once had a Zalman Reserator cooling a Core2Duo E6600 + 8800 GTS. Fanless? Well I love it! I'm a fan of it!
no
Fun! You a fan of PC with no fan.
How are ya commenting before the video was posted?
@@zuccx99 RUclips works strange. Sometimes counter shows I'm first visitor, but if I'll update page few times it shows actulal comments and visitors. @@zuccx99 magic, that has nothing to do with RUclips screwing up.
12:24 If the fins were even wider, you could technically grill meat on your case while you game, right? Neat.
Kai W yes
Oh hell that gives me an idea
The little glitch effect that happens when Linus hits the top of the machine at 10:56. Kudos to you editors!
Linus: How much does it cost?
Alex: Around a thousand bucks
Linus: Oh that cheap!
Alex: For the chasis
Linus: Oh(surprised Linus noises🤣 )

Linus : "you're officially hotter than this computer"
*Becomes hotter*
Looks better than a 2019 MacPro. I can't want to build my ultimate silent Hackintosh with this thing.
Yeah, it does and the build quality looks to be up there as well. You planning on going AMD or Intel for your build?
This is how Apple should build their computers
We have nearly identical profile pictures
2-4 high quality fans at inaudible low rpms, pushing air out the sides (you could maybe put some holes into the side heatsinks between the fins) would greatly better themals for the internal components, yet add no audible noise. like 80/92mm noctuas at 300rpm. could even be thermal controlled and only active on high i/o load or something.
but all in all: great high quality case. its great to see something so well made out of a small companys hand.
11:52 "You are officially hotter than this computer" "Oh! Thank you!"
XD
Ngl his face was terrifying the jerkiness of the camera updating definitely didnt help
"Look at my hands, I'm getting grilled boys."
Ahh yes, now comes *LinusGrillTips* boys.
This actually sounds like a -delicious- good idea...
This is a pretty good machine when you order pizza you can leave on top it will keep it warm. lol
Actually, yeah
Honestly, I think this is genuinely a good practical use, no joke.
Also, hot not warm
The creator secretely runs a little ceasars
I remember Luke suggesting the same thing some years ago. Man, time flies
This would be perfect during cold winters in canada.
This will heat up your room nicely.

There is only ONE of YOU in the world, so be careful on the streets, as do not ever walk with your hands in your pocket.
There is a reason why the military teaches that.
See if you have enough brainpower to figure out why.

"Seems like it" *Puts on sunglasses* "couldn't take the heat."
"You might say the whole system is pretty "metal" "
you might, but you shouldn't.
Then they said we'll come back in 20 minutes, to allow people time to think about whether to laugh.
Thats beyond beautiful. I would 100% install a couple low rpm noctua fans into this.
I mean those expensive low rpm fans make no difference in noise but the difference in cooling is insanely high.
Linus i believe your content has improved significantly since that emotional broadcast last month ❤
Honey I'm gonna cook tonight.
- ok. Let me turn on the computer so its is ready for you.
“There’s a dead mosquito in here”
I’m still f-ing laughing
Careful it may have Corona
10 gigs cards are definitely toasty even without load. They are designed to fit one slot in well ventilated chassis. I'm surprised there are no heat pipes for it in this build.
Linus: Fanless pc
Me: Expensive heating element on electricity

"There's so much metal, eh!"
Yer Cenadian's shoing! Eh!
Sorey fer making this comment...
LINUS-I WON'T DROP IT
EVERYONE ELSE-HE'S GOING TO DROP IT
I remember me having a similar no-noise Zalman case about a decade ago. That baby had lots of copper heatpipes covering the whole black anodized body, but the neatest thing ever was the quality of the 4 castors at the bottom.
It didn't look like an air-cooled two stroke bike engine like the one you have there.
"so you can say the whole system is pretty "metal" "
i facepalmed so hard inside i actually could hear it
"This belongs to someone else"

If you live in a cold climate, this is perfect to warm up your room / apartment or a small house!
Make sure to align the brick with the little insulating pads at 9:49 so the power supply doesn't short circuit and come into contact with the rest of the system.
The quality of this video is Television-esque and I'm addicted, Linus!
"The great thing about aluminum is, that's It's really light weight! Until you have enough of it that it gets heavy"
Linus Sebastian, 2021
Come on, Linus. We all know how much a kilo is.
9:47 Thank god they have those rubber feet to stop the PSU from shorting out on the aluminum. #TheVerge
lmao 😂
yes, its one thousand.
Oh, they lost 8 cores from the beginning of the video to the end :o)
"perks" of a fanless system it seems
"Someone bought this system and then they sent it to us first" .... "People who buy fanless cases are "a**holes" - Does this include the person who sent the one-of-a-kind case to you guys first?

YOU DIDN’T !!!
BECAUSE IT’S NOT THERE !!!
Going back to the same methods old Japanese Home Audio equipment used in the 70's and 80's I see. Full body aluminum and fins.
I think what i like the most about this case is its a "desktop" style case, id like to see more of these back on the market for an affordable price
I love that LTT ads are always 10 seconds...makes them real easy to skip
Wait, so where did the dead mosquito come from? The LMG office or Turemetal's office?
Im sure the extra heatsinks on the gpu were for the VRMs, possibly just to maximize cooling or maybe because of a lack of planning.
I like the idea of getting your boss to work for you. Lol
3:47 actually surprised he didn't drop it...
imagine putting one of these together and being met with piercing, searing coil whine from the GPU and PSU
Great. I LOVE silent gaming capable rigs. The first word that popped into my mind when I saw this was: WANT!! The baking temps inside on the FLIR made me appreciate my active cooled, noisy computer. I'll stick with that, thank you. Btw I once had a Zalman Reserator cooling a Core2Duo E6600 + 8800 GTS. The system wasn't COMPLETELY fanless, but as fanless as you can get without frying all the other components, while still maintaining a very quiet environment. Sadly the tower leaked on me after five years.
