Oh wow, that's super cool! Yeah, Reptar Ruins from the Kart Racers series! I wonder if it'll have the same music or a remix or what! That's super cool though, yeah, fun!
Kinda sad they didn’t just give him a city stage with destructible buildings, like a proper kaiju fight meets the final level from Rugrats: Search for Reptar
I ADORE the way you go in depth with every little detail. There were somethings I didn’t even know myself! Don’t worry about how long these vids are going to take. Especially if they are going to be this fire 🔥
I personally like the existence of combo breakers, as more often than not it leads to better players being able to bait out the breaker, then preforming an even more satisfying punish. I find that often, these clips are so much cooler than just a combo because if proves that the player who landed the combo is actually good, rather than only capable of doing one string of moves. Hard reads like that are so satisfying to me.
11:00 I feel like the Combo Breaker mechanic will be helpful if you’re getting trapped by an Opponent who’s Spamming attacks. Which will be useful for new players who don’t want to get bodied.
Thats definitely the idea i feel. They can call it "baby mechanics" or whatever all they want, but the reality is it breaks up the cheese bullshit and makes the game more fun and interesting.
@klovasoszenovka Right? You don't like burst because it "ruins your combo clips"? That sounds like a personal problem. No one likes getting combo's to death.
I always wonder what a platform fighting game might look like with Guilty Gear like mechanics like Roman Canceling or EX moves, but never would I thought the first game to go wild with it is a game where you can beat up Garfield as Spongebob. I'm excited to try all the new slime stuff in the game it looks really fun to mess with. Also I saw Patrick in his Patrick Man alt in the Spongebob Showcase and I will main that alt.
Love your discussion, opposite opinion on combo breaks, i dont like it when i catch someone in a super long combo, i like when they are always fighting back and im looking for weak spots. But i understand if it can be annoying.
15:14 I actually got an idea that his down or up special will make plankton abandon the mech like bowser junior but you can become tiny and have a limited about of attacks but I can see him combining in and out of the mech and Laser blasters saw blades u for uranium. Bombs and other wacky stuff plankton does
13:14 I think that is a reference to the “As Seen On TV” episode where SpongeBob slips on some grease and the Krabby Patties dramatically fly into the air.
Its a Fat Chance but I really want this game or future sequels to have a " Gallery Mode. " A mode where you can look at Concept Art, 3D models of the fighters, heck just let the devs access the Nick Animation Archives so they can include storyboards, model sheets and behind the scene stuff from various Nick shows. Very few games does this (Sonic Mega Collection, TMNT cowabunga collection, CTR, etc...) I'm still buying this game though it looks amazing, but hey a man can dream...
The other side of combo breakers is that sometimes in fighting games Unblockable moves will hit and you can’t do anything and they suffer. Case in point, Dragon Ball Fighter Z. The reason I dropped it because of the really annoying zero to deaths and the repetitive use of not creative teams. Where’s my Nappa mains?!
Yup, pretty cute! When I saw at first on my phone on twitter, full screen didn't work and it was so small I thought it might actually be his maid outfit haha, but yeah, he got that fan favorite Mermaid Man outfit!
Ngl I was waiting for her to watch these trailers. She’s probably the only RUclipsr that reacts to NASB2 that I genuinely enjoy ngl Also first, Hey Sonsa😂
I think Goddard could still be a part of Jimmy's moveset! Remember that Spunky was in Rocko's moveset as well as cameoed in the Hardcore Chores stage. I'm assuming he'd have him as a down special where he'd play dead and explode like he does in the show. Either way, great video! I'm looking forward to more
Mhm, true! And actually, Goddard does seem to explode when Jimmy gets knocked out in that clip, so now I think he probably is part of Jimmy's moveset after all yeah!
Oh, y'know what! 17:23 mayyybe Jimmy's jet-pack is actually just part of his double-jump animation and then his hovercar is his actual up-special! That could explain this movement, yeah, maybe!
Honestly, a combo breaker system is a great idea for this series. I get they your argument is just “get good”, but it was hard to find the motivation in NASB 1 to get good, when 95% of my online experience just amounts to me getting juggled, with no way to break out of it. It was so easy to spam. It’s like every character had Luigi’s zero to death combo in Smash Ultimate. Remember when the devs had to nerf it, because everyone hated fighting Luigi when he had it
Honestly, I'm on the side of combo breakers being okay. It's demoralizing for others to get comboed by better players and having a get-out-of-jail-free card that uses up 2 bars is a good balance option. Plus, I'm more of the comeback-punish sorta fighter.
Yeah, I'm really coming around on them, I'll just predict and punish them and get cool clips, others will feel safer, and it actually looks so cool to fly far and just stop on a dime! Actually seeing people in tournament maybe purposefully get space and burst to reset neutral seems pretty hype the way I'm imagining it! Ooh and then in that high-stakes tense neutral both players shoot enhanced moves at each other, last hit wins, ooh, well, I'm rambling imagining stuff again, but yeah, so much fun potential!
How I think grabbing and throwing should work in NASB 2: Grabbing and throwing projectiles works exactly the same as it did in NASB 1 Grabbing players works the same except you can't run while holding them, only walk, and your jumps are cut in half. There are 3 throws that you can angle in any direction available to a control stick, light throw, strong throw and special throw. Light throws are usually used for starting a combo, chaining into a kill move or for placement control, strong throws are usually used as a finisher move or to set up a spike, and special throws are usually a niche, situational tool or something unique to set fighters apart from each other. I think this would be a really good way to expand upon the mechanics of the first game and find a good balance between the mechanics Super Smash Bros and Nick All-Star Brawl (not that I think they need to be similar but it's obviously what they're going for)
totally agree on some of the gone mechanics plus certain new ones, i never liked combo breakers either there just...idk kinda lame lol ?? and im gonna miss grabbing in the air cause like learning how to utilize air grabs was so fun to me lol. strafings also gone and im gonna miss the little animations those cam wit too :( however the rest of the new stuff looks really fun and interesting to me especially the supers since they seem to basically always be a part of the game so i cant wait to see them all and how to use em in combos n stuff !
Something accurate yet funny about hearing someone complain about the party game with *SpongeBob* in it trying to give younger or inexperienced players a chance
Hey, I didn't complain in Nick Brawl 1, and I didn't complain when I got combo'd in Marvel vs Capcom 3 either, but yeah, I'll have some fun with burst in 2, I'll try and get some cool-looking creative stuff with it yeah!
To be honest combo breaker is one of those things where if I'm doing it, its good but if someone else is doing it, its bad/annoying. (just me being petty i guess)
15:50 Oh, I thought that it was an original design for NASB, interesting to see it 16:14 Ohhh that's why, didn't see SOoW 19:36 OH GOOD CATCH! YEAH THAT'S SUCH A GOOD REFERENCE I WAS HOPING FOR IT TOO
i'll probably succ with all those mechanics but it still looks pretty neat, all the references here and there still give a pretty cool detail, and spongebob's spotlight was pretty cute and neat to show, love all the insights you give in your videos and all the analisys and discussion...also it's been just 1 hour and your video already has tons of comments i have no idea how fast it happened but anyway, let's keep our fingers crossed to see if this will be as better as it already looks, wish the best for you and let's keep the NASB2 HYPE
Aw, I thought I'd struggle with Nick Brawl 1 too, and I remember when playing there was someone online already doing amazing combos with air dashes in between every hit! I wondered if I could ever do stuff like that and I was surprised how quickly I actually did, and now it's so natural! So y'know, you may surprise yourself with how quick you get used to all these mechanics! But even if you don't, just seeing the pretty stages and all the cute animations should be fun! Thanks and yeah, NASB2 HYPE!!
I think the combo breaker complain that you have I might have a reason why you don't like it, because it ruins your clip, not to be negative, but I don't think many people care to make a cool combo or an amazing performance just for a clip, some just like to fight for fun and to impress everyone, at least that's my thought on that opinion of yours

"some just like to fight for fun" implies clip fishing isn't something that people find fun, or that people can't thing burst mechanics aren't fun. I don't like them since we're in a platform fighter with DI, but they have a heavy seeming cost so it's definitely not gonna be a huge issue to me despite that.
@@shrimpchris6580 Nah c'mon, no need to look for implications, it was clear enough! Some people have fun without lookin for clips, that's all! I'm sure we'll all have a fun time in the game anyway, yeah!

Fun fact that temple stage is actually from Nick Kart Racers 3 and represents Reptar. It’s called Reptar Ruins.
