I find it hilarious that they gave him G&W Judge. The rage down B is such a fitting idea too. But I can't believe how much damage he did while in Rage! Patrick went from 0 to 114 lmao. I can already anticipate the memes people will make of Squidward with Kazuya's hair
firstly. wow you called like a good chunk of his moveset and secondly i absolutely love his forward throw door slam so much that honestly....it makes me wish air grabs were in the game so i can slam the door on my opponent mid air and straight into the blast zone
That EX clarinet is an interesting tool for a super mode character like this. Usually the biggest weakness of this archetype is that they need to get a neutral win in their base mode before they can get the ball rolling and a slow moving projectile you can approach behind gives you a huge edge getting in. That combined with some apparently large djc aerials for walling out approaches and safe, spaced pressure makes playing towards that win con make sense.
3:13 Funny how Squidward has a more basic stock icon but probably finished render. While Patrick has a more detailed stock icon, but his render is from the first game. Maybe Squidward’s finished while Patrick’s isn’t because of the render he uses. While SpongeBob could be the in-between.
Aw, well, I may not get as hyped over certain characters like uh mayyybe some of the Teenage Turtles when compared to Jenny who I'm just super hyped for, but I guess I can try recording for everyone! Apparently we'll get 3 a week so maybe I can even put some together or something! I had ideas and stuff for content for the first game and they ended up getting so delayed and I ended up not sharing as much fun as I hoped I guess overall! Maybe this time I'll, I dunno, yeah, share more reactions and chat more with y'all and stuff!
Yeah, according to someone that works on these showcases, we could be seeing 2-4 of these per week. I guess since these are much shorter than NASB 1’s moveset overviews, they’re able to get these out more frequently.
These may sound like a lot, but since we got a SpongeBob one, they’re gonna go over returning fighters along with new ones. If all the previous fighters are returning and counting the leaked fighters, that’s around 30-40 characters (I’m keeping it vague to not spoil anything) so it does kinda make sense for it to be frequent.
Oh yeah, I heard that too! That's so, like...frequent! I know we're only like 73 days away from the game releasing, but about 3 a week... Oh, hm! I just counted as though we're done with this week (and who knows, maybe Patrick or Plankton or someone else today!), and yeah, with about 3 a week until the game released, there would be about 32ish! Huh! That's so cool! About 3 of these great peeks until the game releases, oh that's so fun and surprisingly works out, I thought they'd burn through everyone by mid-September, but yeah! Well that's great! I hear Tafaar's working hard on putting these together so good work to him and others, as I also hear while he's editing them and stuff there will also be other people involved, like community members to provide voiceover for certain videos! Well these are fantastic, and I actually like that they don't reveal as much as first game's showcases since that leaves fun surprises for later! But that's so nice to have a dependable, constant stream of updates! I remember the first game had a bit of a painful period from when they dropped the first trailer to the future games show tease, people were desperate for more news ha! So sweet they've planned and prepared to keep people happy, they didn't have to, but wow!
I know this won't happen, but I'd love to see guest appearances in the background if you select a certain character. If you choose Garfield (along with his stage), you'd be able to see Jon. Or if you go with Korra, maybe you'd see her girlfriend, Asami
Oh that would be so cute! I'd be totally down for that! Even though this Boxing Ring is from Spongebob specifically instead of being some original thing shared by everyone like Battlefield in Smash, there's no rule against it! I don't expect that to happen either, but it's still a really cool and cute idea!
6:45 Wait yeah, he kinda IS floaty. I'm glad because I remember someone who works on NASB said something ridiculous like, "Don't worry there's no floaty characters I'm not the devil" like what a wild claim
Yeah, they said they avoided having any very floaty characters, and I think that's something they're continuing as characters they've mentioned may be floatier (Aang and Danny) are, from the peeks we've seen, still pretty normal with how they fall! Squidward seems floppy, but not too floaty (thankfully, in my opinion). I personally don't really like playing or fighting floaty characters like Kirby in Smash and really prefer Nick Brawl 1 or Slap City where no one is very floaty at all! A floaty character could work totally, but if they don't want to go for it, that's totally fine!
What's the issue with floaty characters? It's just certain physics that should be represented in the roster where appropriate. If everyone were floaty it'd be an issue but it's weird if no-one's floaty either. I don't usually play faster falling characters but I'm not gonna say "No fast fallers allowed. Everyone will be a balloon!". Plus the specific claim is just weird, "I'm not the devil", like what are devs who have made floaty characters in platform fighters supposed to be with a wild claim like that@@SonsaKay
Well, the devil statement is being mixed in from another statement, that was actually in regards to unlocking characters and stages, they said they wouldn't make characters unlockable "we're not the devil" something like that because having to unlock everything would be really inconvenient for tournaments. In any case, there's no objective problem I guess, it's just preference, I personally haven't liked fighting floaty characters because they tend to fall out of combos or just slow the game down, and I personally like things going faster! There's no character on the roster that seems out-of-character for not being floaty, but if they had someone that needed to be floaty to be more in character then it'd be interesting to see how they handle that, but it is nice, in my opinion, that they haven't had to deal with that. I also liked the rule that every character had 2 jumps cause I personally found waiting for characters like Kirby to use all their jumps really slowed things down and was just annoying, but it looks like Nigel (from what we've seen in the first trailer) might have at least 3 jumps, and I generally trust them and am looking forward to seeing how they're approaching that! Ludosity had another character that jumped more in Slap City, Masked Ruby, and he ended up not being very annoying, so yeah, I dunno! We'll see! But anyway, yeah, tldr, the devil comment was with something else and floaty characters, in my opinion, just tend to slow things down which I don't prefer!
Did I misremember? Still a tough claim I mean, having certain characters be harder to combo than others is nice too. Comboes should always have a constant challenge to connect them. Only case I can think of a character's floatiness slowing down the game is like, Sora, and that's also because of his specials specifically Well yeah multiple jumps are cool and unique also awkward that you repeatedly bring up specifically my smash main, kirby, lol @@SonsaKay
Yeah, got it a bit mixed up, no biggie! Ehhh, there's enough constant challenge with working with opponents' DI and timing and different stage layouts and stuff. And there would definitely be times in Smash I played a character hoping to land a clip and ended up fighting a Jigglypuff that floated away and jumped and jumped and constantly took all the time they could to try to get me to chase them so they could punish my attempts. Matches like those I could try and chase and force my clip, but I can remember times where I was too tired to play cat-and-mouse and just stood around and slowly punished them and won, and yeah, that's just not the game I want to play personally. And oh, that's unfortunate, but yeah, I have a buddy who also mained Kirby and I love my buddy but Kirby is just not my favorite character to fight which they understand, but I of course keep telling them to play Kirby if they want, I'll deal with it! For a bit at least...!
im about 99% sure that squidwards icon is the correct one, and patrick's is the one that needs to be updated. Because spongebob has an updated player icon that looks more similar to squidward's, but patrick's looks like the same one from nasb1, so i'm pretty sure that's whats going on here.
Oh, you're talking about their portraits in the stars right? Yeah, for sure, but I was referring to the little heads meant to represent how many stocks they have left, in this case they say x infinity (∞)! Squidward's (right now) looks like a black and white doodle, while Patrick's looks more finished!
@@SonsaKay oh yeah nvm sorry I see what you're talking about, yeah his isn't even colored in, just a black and white icon, I think you're definitely right hahah
Nah, nothin to be sorry about, but yeah, seems renders/portraits and stock icons, at least from this footage, are still a work in progress which is totally fine! Just wonder how pretty all the final products there might be!
Oh, I would be so flattered, but nah, I put that video up so recently and it takes so long to design, animate, and program these moves! But yeah, so cool to see their interpretations, Squidward looks super fun and Squidwardy!😄♥
I love how they added 4 whole moves based on the 1 dance scene
Sonic. Jukebox...
I find it hilarious that they gave him G&W Judge. The rage down B is such a fitting idea too. But I can't believe how much damage he did while in Rage! Patrick went from 0 to 114 lmao. I can already anticipate the memes people will make of Squidward with Kazuya's hair
SQUIDWARD MISHIMA..
I like how some of your suggestions for Squidward's move set like that door slam and the marvel actually made it into games! That's so crazy!
I've watched the Squidward video several times and never noticed that he bounced off the ropes in that clip. Good catch!
firstly. wow you called like a good chunk of his moveset and secondly i absolutely love his forward throw door slam so much that honestly....it makes me wish air grabs were in the game so i can slam the door on my opponent mid air and straight into the blast zone

imagine ex bike just causes that giant explosion 😭
Squidward was definitely my most wanted SpongeBob character for NASB that wasn’t part of base roster.
I like how Squidward paintings different each time and different ones are stronger then others. Which is a perfect thing

Given we saw Handsome Squidward is his super I wonder if we’ll see brief glimpses of the super in each spotlight or nah.
I love this content, you’re probably the person I get the most excited about when I see you post nasb 2 content keep it up :)
I'd honestly love to see your reactions to all the showcases

@@SonsaKay if you don’t feel like doing a reaction to all of them, that’s totally fine. I just love seeing content for this game haha
His air floppyness reminds me of puppet squid swooshing around and the fish imitating him.
Ha, yeah, that's super cute! Squidwood, yeah!
NASB 2 is looking better and better. Squidward’s moveset looks great and his has a lot of personality.
It would be cool if they had banners for the fighters in the Fry Cook Games Arena. Like the banners on Boxing Ring in Smash.
woah woah woah woah woah woah woah... woah... is that Danganronpa music in the background? Love it XD

Awesome reaction, love the content
The Ex form of the clarinet should be a treble clef
I still think it's very weird how Squidward has so many moved with short range...
he got the janky ass hitbox
