      Well, I don't see any problem in that, I mean... Look at how it works now.. We got people training lions, tigers or eagles... Kinda the same thing, if you think about it... So yea, pretty darn awesome!

      I agree. Raptors are extremely intelligent. With them accepting him in their presence, I'm sure it's about the same as wolves accepting humans into their pack. Not to mention I'm sure he's been working with them for a while.

    I'm getting worried about this movie. And I'm not trying to make myself seem like I hate everything CGI, but the original three movies used the combination of both practical effects and CGI flawlessly. The rules started from the first movie was that the close up shots of the dinosaurs would be practical effects and the wide shots being CGI. That is a justifiable reason because you can't really get an animatronic to walk fluently and with CGI you can. Here's an example of that: in the first movie you had that scene when the T. rex was banging its head onto the jeep (which was a practical effect), then the camera pans down and the Rex walks away (that was CGI). You see! That's what I mean! CGI was used only when it was completely necessary. But I noticed in this trailer the close up shots were nothing but CGI. I don't understand why the close up shots would have to be CGI. And the cherry onto of that sundae is that the director said the majority of the dinosaurs in this would be practical effects. Well - where are they?! I hope that I am proven wrong. Am I the only one that thinks this?

    • @LeSpartahara

      Well, I mean... we saw a total of like 10 seconds of dinosaurs in this so. How about we wait and see before freaking out?

      At 0:39 - that is totally not CGI, so there has to be more shots like this one, and it supports what you said because this shot is a close up.

      plus, this is a trailer/teaser of sorts. These shots are not finalized, because the movie is still in the post-production stage. I guarantee you it will look much better come release.

    I strongly think the T. Rex and the I. Rex will fight. Yeah, we know that Chris Pratt's character, Owen will use the raptors to fight the Indominous Rex. But if you noticed that the T. rex was not in the trailer. And Colin apparently stated that the T. rex will definitely be in the film. So that leads me to believe that he's saving the T. rex for something big. And what better way to redeem themselves after that bullshit fight from JP3?! The filmmakers got a lot of hate for that fight and I think they learned their lesson as to why you shouldn't kill off the king of the dinosaurs. It's time to give the king it's crown back. Who else thinks this fight will happen at the end of the film?

      99% sure that will happen. T-rex puts up a fierce fight but I-rex pretty much owns the game. They will fight until they reach the arena of the river where the Mosasaurus is. I rex prepares for killing strike but Owen and raptors come in to fight her. I rex dispatches raptors and about to kill Owen when T-rex comes dashes in and pushes I-rex into the river. Mosasaurus has a nice supper.

      exactly. how else are they going to get the mosasaurus in the action? a whole boat chase? i dont think so. the thing cant even swim inland. so its gonna have to burst in unexpectedly to finish the i rex off. the trex will yell its elephant like roar and look into the camera, triumphant music will play, and jeff goldblum will make his cameo.

    1) - This film does insanely well in terms of quality and box office
    2) - That success kick starts another trilogy, I just need more Dinosaur movies, I mean there aren't any others worth watching!

    Now to be fair, everything I “knew” about Velociraptors came from the Jurassic Park movies and so I shouldn’t really be surprised it was all wrong. So if, like me, you thought that Velociraptors were slightly bigger than a human; reptilian looking; hunted in packs; were found in what is now the United States; and were ridiculously intelligent. Well, literally none of that is true.
    Velociraptors were actually only about the size of a domesticated Turkey, being only about 3 feet tall and 6 feet long, with most of the length coming from the tail and weighing in at around 20-30 pounds full grown. More than that, they also looked somewhat like a Turkey as well, but with a long tail obviously. It turns out, Velociraptors were very similar to birds in a lot of ways. They had hollow bones, feathers, built nests for their eggs, and are thought to have behaved very similar to birds.
    As Mark Norell, curator of fossil reptiles, amphibians, and birds at the American Museum of Natural History, stated, “The more that we learn about these animals the more we find that there is basically no difference between birds and their closely related dinosaur ancestors like Velociraptor. Both have wishbones; brooded their nests; possess hollow bones; and were covered in feathers. If animals like Velociraptor were alive today, our first impression would be that they were just very unusual looking birds.”
    More than that, there has never been one bit of evidence that suggested that Velociraptors hunted in packs. In fact, every fossil found of Velociraptors has seemed to indicate they were solitary creatures. There was even one fossil where the Velociraptor was in the act of trying to kill a Protoceratops, which was a pig sized dinosaur, when a sandstorm came up and buried them both while they were still fighting one another. If they hunted in packs, there should have been more Velociraptors at that find, particularly given the size of the Protoceratops relative to the Velociraptor.
    Next up, the Velociraptors were not found in the United States, as the films suggested: where the paleontologists in the film dug up the Velociraptor skeleton in Montana. In fact, they have only been found in Central Asia around Mongolia.
    Were they intelligent? Well, for a dinosaur, it is thought they were somewhat intelligent due to their brain size relative to body size. But it turns out, that’s basically just saying they were slightly more intelligent than a board with a nail in it. For reference, the dinosaur that is thought to have been the smartest of all dinosaurs was the Troodon; it is thought to have been around as smart as a primitive opossum. So there goes the whole Philosraptor thing out the window. The deepest thoughts a Velociraptor ever thought were probably on the level of the Seagulls in Finding Nemo. “Mine?” Hardly the “smarter than dolphins, whales, and some primates” that Dr. Alan Grant in Jurassic Park III suggests.
    Actually, if you’ve ever raised domestic Turkey’s, which I have and don’t recommend, the “just slightly more intelligent than a board with a nail in it”, is about the domestic Turkey’s level of intelligence too. I’m beginning to think Velociraptors were nothing but domestic Turkeys with slightly different bone structure. ;-)
    So what were they thinking in Jurassic Park? Well basically, they modeled what they called the “Velociraptor” in the movie after the Deinonychus. The Deinonychus were also raptors, but were significantly bigger than the Velociraptors, coming in at about 12 feet long, about 6 feet tall, and weighing about 150 pounds full grown. Pretty much picture the “Velociraptor” in Jurassic Park and you get a pretty good idea of what the Deinonychus were thought to have looked like (although there still is some debate over whether they too had feathers, with many researchers leaning that way; so really, picture the “Velociraptor” in Jurassic Park and add feathers and you get the Deinonychus).
    The Deinonychus also were thought to have occasionally hunted in packs to bring down larger prey and were thought to have been very fast. Their habitat was in the forests of North America. Now on the intelligence bit, they too weren’t really thought to have been very intelligent. Although, clearly they were at least smart enough to work together to bring down larger prey when the need arose.

      @KortaGalathil 9 лет назад

      Good comment, lots of facts.
      However I thought the Deinonychus was still too small to be the JP raptors.
      I always thought the raptors in JP were actually based off the Utahraptor. It wasn't named until 1993 (fossils discovered from 1975, massive foot claw discovered 1991) so it fits well with the JP timeline, taller than a man (7m long), massive claw like the raptor and discovered in the US.
      I don't know whether it was possible to get the two confused as grown raptors initially before it was realised it was a different species? In terms of it fitting as the JP raptor its the right size, massive claw, belived to hunt in packs and found in the US. They could climb, possibly jump up to 15ft.
      And it looks awesome with feathers/fur (see primeval: new world Utahraptor). Now that's a Raptor.

    • @vianjelos
      @vianjelos 9 лет назад +1

      I agree with some earlier comments, JP raptors are closer to Utharaptor than velociraptor. I just never understood why they didn't change the name from velociraptor to just raptor. Seeing as that's what they call them anyway, then they could claim them to actually be Utharaptor and not mislead people. The reason they initially got the names confused is the author of the book was inspired by another book by a paleontologist who thought all dromeasaurs to be velociraptor and so the author got confused. Btw with feathers the Raptors look cooler wish JP put feathers on their raptors.

  • @HollVids2
    @HollVids2 9 лет назад +237

    I really don't know why people are losing there shit because Chris Pratt is a Velociraptor trainer. Humans have been able to train and tame nearly every animal on this planet, Wolves can be trained and they are like velociraptors of this time. Even Crocodiles and Gators which are the same species can be tamed. I know they can't be tamed to the level of mammals, but it's very hard to tame them, there's even a man from Costa Rica who swam with a Crocodile and domesticated him. So my point is if this was real and Humans were able to bring back a velociraptor, In time some expert would be able to tame a Dino.

      Also, Chris Pratt.
      I mean that's you're reason right there!
      Seriously though despite being genetic hybrid abominations they're still just animals, no reason why they can't be tamed. Is this bad for the 'reputation' of what amounts to one of the primary antagonists of the series and ones of the mascots? Possibly, we should maybe stop giving out opinions until the movie actually comes out. If it's bad THEN we can say bad things about the directors mother, previews often end up nothing like the movie they advertise so keep an open mind people.

Raptors were proven to be very highly intelligent. So why do you think the same idea would not work? Just because you saw 3 movies with blood thirsty raptor´s?

    • @Ruyan212
      @Ruyan212 9 лет назад +1

      If the "Raptors" of the Jurassic Park movies existed, and were even one tenth of how smart they are in these movies, they would be smart enough to accept training, if they were put with him to raise from birth, given the right incentives, made to believe that he is their leader. And if they were exactly as smart as they are in the movies, they would probably have worked out pretty quick that killing one of the people is a bad thing.
      Hunting with them would REINFORCE those instincts, you may not see it in the movie, but in all likelihood, he took them out while on his bike and got them to chase stuff, to "Hunt".
      He would have to have instilled in them the idea that he is still stronger than them (And since, to them, he doesn't seem to change, given the aging difference if they are anything like most other animals with regard to lifespan) unless one got mad and attacked him, or he changed his scent and startled one, he should be okay.

    I watched the first film when I was 3. Now I study palaeontology at uni. I'll say this: resurrecting dinosaurs is itself basically impossible. I don't care if the raptors are trainable, don't have feathers etc. I don't care that the Stegosaurs can run or the Pterosaurs can lift people with their feet. It's science FICTION. Remember the Dilophosaurus from the first film? Give the producers a bloody break and let them have some fun for...dare I say it...entertainment's sake!
    The London Natural History Museum is having it's iconic diplodocus skeleton removed from the main atrium for goodness' sake, so now more than ever dinosaurs need to remain in the public eye if funding for future research is going to happen!

      CGI in JP1 ('93, not '92):
      Brachs and Paras in the opening
      Galli stampede
      Rex vs Raptors
      Animatronics in JP1:
      Pretty much everything else.
      It wasn't better back then, they only used it when it was absolutely necessary.

    Everyone complaining about CGI. To be honest, I prefer practical effects but it's a new age. Just appreciate the fact that this movie has been created and that there are practical effects in it! We live in an age where the damn tv quality is so defined you may notice the CGI but it's not cheap or bad quality. If this was on VHS you couldn't even tell. Just be happy people! If it bothers u, don't watch it. Btw, it hasn't even been released, ppl complained about transformers 4 CGI in the trailer, but damn when it was released. The quality was amazing! #gangnamstyle

      to be fair, humans have adapted to train animals and we've done a pretty good job, even training lions and bears. sometimes not the best, but that's only with few people. just because an animal is a killer or something like that doesn't mean we can't learn how they behave or act, we learn and can control these beasts. ... though, i don't think the I.Rex will be the same way.

    To be perfectly honest, I like this new idea of "trained" Velociraptors. Trevorrow is showing a new side of the dinosaurs of the Jurassic Park franchise. Rather than just "kill, kill, kill", they're showing that they're actual animals with animal-like behaviors. Large modern predators like lions and tigers can be tamed and trained, so it's not so far out to assume that raptors could be too. Even if you don't buy what I just said; it's called creative license, people. We all know these are nothing like real dinosaurs, get over it.
    TL;DR shut the hell up and stop looking for shit to complain about all the time. We're lucky to even be getting another Jurassic Park movie.

  • @chibiXtrash
    @chibiXtrash 9 лет назад +1

    I love the 'Raptor buds' thingy. Chris' character is an ex marine who is an expert with Velociraptors now. Why not? I mean given the fact these three 'park Raptors' are probably genetically modified in some way and maybe he has been with them since they were born. I don't think it's that unreal. I mean it happens with all sorts of wild animals that are raised by humans. Uncommon friendships in wild life are pretty common. A Lion and an antelope, tigers in a circus etc. Yeah I really like the idea of Chris Pratt as a Velociraptor trainer! Looking forward to the movie. I remember seeing the first one as a kid in cinema... It was magic.

    • @Goraka91
      @Goraka91 9 лет назад +12

      What's so special about dinosaurs? Not like they were genetically engineered in the first place so they could alter their behaviour to be less aggressive or anything.
      Or that thing Hammond said about them 'imprinting' back in JP1 means that Pratt's character is essentially their father who raised them from birth, because they still seem aggressive, but they respect HIM as a pack leader or something.

So I was reading the comments and a lot of people were suggesting that the Spinosaurus and the Tyrannosaurus rex would team up in order to defeat the Indominus Rex(without the two of them fighting each other instead of the I-Rex in the process). How about if both the T-Rex and Spino were both raised together as babies? Just like some tiger and lion cubs are raised together today! So they would not see each other as enemies, but rather best friends. So what do you think of my idea? Please reply :)

    As much as part of me thinks its cool ta see trained raptors, probably the bigger half can't help but see this as neutering a perfect killing machine. In the first Jurassic park the tone and the way these hunters were portrayed (especially the music that was played during there scenes) really give you the feeling these animals were the thing of nightmares but now we have them trained like obedient dogs...I just can't help but feel that something is lost here. Still gonna watched this movie and see how it plays out tho.

    • @No1c00l
      @No1c00l 9 лет назад +10

      Its only something to worry about if Pratt has the Raptors do tricks like Sit...Roll over...Beg for a treat
      But looking at the clip over and over they are still very hissy and ready to strike and Pratt knows this but I guess being as smart as they are they recognize Pratt as a means to a free meal like big cats or wolves so why kill him
      ....cant be any worse then JP3...

    • @BladedShamrock
      @BladedShamrock 9 лет назад +4

      Well if it turns out as a kinda struggle to keep them under some degree of control thing I can live with that. It would be cool ta see him lose more control over them as the movie goes on (the kind of nature can't be contained or controlled scenario). As long as they don't hang on his every command and start licking his face or rubbing there heads against him then im good.

    • @No1c00l
      @No1c00l 9 лет назад +1

      Oh god yeah if that happens then itll be really disappointing ....As babies they can do that but as they said in the 1st movie "Lethal in 8 months" And it could be very sad to see that as they grow older the more wild they become and all of his time and effort trying to change their nature is pointless *SYMBOLISM or parallelism I guess*

    • @CJStew06

      I'm sure there will be plenty of back-story and exposition to explain how "these" raptors were raised from birth to be trained and comfortable around their trainer. I mean, it's 20 years after the original and InGen is no longer in control - obviously this new company spent a lot of time and effort to fix the bugs and control a functioning theme park

    • @GiuseppeGaetanoSabatelli
      @GiuseppeGaetanoSabatelli 9 лет назад +1

      It looks more like they accept him as neutral, and later even an ally, in the same way the raptors don't kill Grant when he returns the egg in JP3. I know people don't like JP3 for all its shortcomings, but it definitely added some cool lore to raptor society - they have culture, language, and strong intuition.
      If he was the "zookeeper" who raised them and they see him as an ally or part of the pack, it makes more sense they'd be willing to help him.

    Despite seeing the trailer, I'm still worried that it's gonna end up being bad or disappointing.

      Instead of posting that, don't ruin this film for us. Either if you don't have anything positive to say or you just want the attention internet people gives you, please don't be those people.

      I'm not saying that I think it's gonna be bad, trust me, I'm all for seeing this movie, and I wanted a sequel to happen for a long time, but I'm really worried that it's going to end up being one of those sequels from a beloved film series that ends up sucking.

      But who knows? Let's hope it ends up being a really good movie like the first one and that my comment isn't jinxed.

      ^ By "my comment" I mean the comment that I just said about hoping that Jurassic World ends up being good.

      ***** Did you just realised that the CGI aren't finished yet ?
      Did you just know how hard it is to do such effects ?
      Apparently, there is much more dudes that spreads hates and nostalgia blindness as tehy are valuables opinions against CGI and modern cinema.
      If you cannot stand this, there few questions that you will had to answer:
      . Why did you come here in the first place if you hate this ?
      . Why did you go watch movies if you don't like special effects ?
      This "logic" is completly unknown to me.

      You sir, had a good point. CGI had to SERVED the movie on his purpose, not MAKE it.

      But REAL velociraptors weren't nearly that big. Plus, REAL raptors were feathered. I don't mind them being tamed and everything. I just want them to look the way they're supposed to so people can see what they really are. The ancestors of birds not reptiles.

    • @amansinghsarna
      @amansinghsarna 9 лет назад

      The raptors were genetically modified in the movies... That's why they didn't have feathers and were taller than usual. But yeah I guess your right.

    • @1DarcsenOfLegend7
      @1DarcsenOfLegend7 9 лет назад +6

      Dennis Taylor Sure, they aren't that big, but that's how they were in the first movie, and seeing as how iconic the Raptors became through that film, it'd be more blasphemous to change them now. Plus, you need to lighten up, bro. It's a movie. A sci-fi/horror movie at that. These things tend to be exaggerated.
      I still have a hard time believing that Raptors were feathered, though. They're trying to hard to link the supposed leap from bird to reptile. I've been presented no proof other than Discovery Channel telling me they are because scientists say so. If you could point me to a trustworthy source that gives evidence, I'd appreciate it (not being sarcastic). Anyway, please try to enjoy the movie (if it's good).
