Being Canadian I'm always fascinated to see how quickly snow and cold temps can shut things down in places not accustomed to having it. Stay safe everyone!

They might not understand that once you break on that snow, the friction can turn it to icy snow, or even ice if done repeatedly, like on corner streets where people have to stop.

6 “He directs the snow to fall on the earth and tells the rain to pour down. 7 Then everyone stops working so they can watch his power. 8 The wild animals take cover and stay inside their dens. 9 The stormy wind comes from its chamber, and the driving winds bring the cold. 10 God’s breath sends the ice, freezing wide expanses of water. 11 He loads the clouds with moisture, and they flash with his lightning. 12 The clouds churn about at his direction. They do whatever he commands throughout the earth. 13 He makes these things happen either to punish people or to show his unfailing love. -Job 37:6-13 NLT

Love and prayers for the South, I remember the first snow storm I experienced in Atlanta in 1979, being from Buffalo it was great to see the snow, then it wasn't so fun, took me 6 hr from Atlanta to get back to my place that normally would take me 45 minutes. What an adventure. You did a beautiful job reporting this. love and blessings to all. Stay safe

I'm born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, I don't know how many times just one inch of snow has shut down almost the entire state. The main reason for that is, that we usually get more ice than snow. Everyone born here knows to stay off the roads when that happens but we have a lot of transplants from northern areas that think they can drive in the snow, not realizing its more ice than snow. So they're always surp when they crash. Lol

Crazy. I can't imagine never having snow at Christmas. It's such a bummer when there's a chinook here in December. I can see how it could create absolute chaos for infrastructure that wasn't built for it.
