totally agree. The silly games made them popular but i want to see all of them start playing some serious golf.
These guys are learning as they go and doing a great job at creating content. They listen to the subscribers and you cant blame them for thinking outside the box every now n again. Love the matches though, thats what got me watching.
Really love seeing above average amateur golf. Love the course vlogs, matches and progression type videos. Not the gimmicky challenges. I know it helps broader appeal but I feel like there’s a lot of golfers here who geek on course management, progression and competition etc.
Ahh!!! So THAT’S how you hit a stinger. Sometimes they would come off the club like that and I always tried to zero it down to what was causing it and I figured it was mainly hitting at the low point at playing the ball in the back of your stance, opposed to putting all your weight forward and catching it between the start to middle of the low point of your downswing, while still having the ball in the middle of your stance. Love that I just learned this since I have tons of trees on my local course and the punch stinger comes in handy so much but I was struggling to hit that shot 100% of the time. Something I really need to practice. Thanks for this video, Garrett, it will really help me out this week when I go play!!
Honestly man this is sick. This is the content that casual golfers who want to improve need. A lot of useful info comes out of the matches but hearing you talk through different shot shapes and approaches on the range is so much more detailed. Keep this content up!

Really love this video man, a lot of us play the course and get frustrated, but forget that the grind time practicing has to happen to get better, this is a good reminder, and good motivation to put in that work! Also really loved how you explain different shot shapes and how you hit them in depth, I needed that!

Really stoked on this series. The challenges are cool but having stuff like this and the Sunday matches balances out the channel. Plus if y'all don't have to come up with so many different challenges we'll get to see the best ones. Casual Saturdays just playing a random golf format with The Boys would be great. Just a course vlog of y'all playing skins, best ball, scrambles, etc would be cool. Plus it would give everyone a reason to get handicaps so that y'all aren't guessing how many strokes to give. It's cheap to get a GHIN and y'all can use Grint or something for handicaps.
I will love this series. I've been considering starting my own channel as a hack golfer on a "Road to scratch" type content, so this is stuff in very interested in. Seeing how you work the range and what you do to improve will be awesome.

Love the idea mate. I’m a mini tour pro and I will say, shaping the ball is all well and good but if you wanna shoot low scores you need to focus at least half your with lob wedge through 9iron, hit consistent soft, 3/4 shots with minimal movement. Most good pros will only shape the ball against their natural flight when they have to, even then it’s a start it at the middle of the and hope it moves towards the flag. The most important thing in good golf is consistent distances and you will not be able to do that by hitting inconsistent shot shapes
Love the content! Great to see you boys grinding to get better. I like the crazy challenges too but I think you have to be careful that it doesn't actually hurt your on course golf game. My preference is to see you shoot good scores in proper golf ;).

You have a great swing Garett. One thing I’ve learned watching Pros is there dedication and time put into practice . Always have a target , always have a plan. Don’t just hit balls to hit balls . It’s a major grind at the top level . Hours and hours a day and over time it will become muscle memory. You can hit shots on command no issue . Keep and it man! All the best

This is the first time I’ve ever left a comment, but I remember the first time I came across you was a course vlog from Brodie Smith a few years ago. Super nice course and I believe there was at least 4 of you guys playing. After that I started following you because you were already good back then. It’s nice to see videos like this because you have so much potential. I myself am trying to get better but you are already really good just some minor tweaks and you’ll be there. I genuinely love watching course vlogs or matchups and you guys are actually trying to play your best golf. I’d personally rather see that over the random fun golf challenges any day. I know you said you’d never try to go pro but you’d like to keep up with the pros because you love doing RUclips so much, but if you ever got that good why not at least do a tournament or just see if you could even have the potential? I mean there’s got to be a part of you that would definitely like to know. I know Brodie at the time was playing in amateur tournaments and you are by far way better than he was (not throwing shade I promise) but it would be awesome to watch you progress through different levels of golf. Even if you played in smaller tournaments and was still able to be able to film it for RUclips. But regardless I think you have what it takes, so keep up the hard work cause good golf is fun to watch. That goes for all of you guys though. Micah, Matt, and evening Steven is getting a lot better. 🤘🏻🤘🏻

I seriously need so much help with my short game (don’t we all?!). I would def love an aggressive approach, chipping to one putt, and putting tutorials or just a video that basically goes through the motions that you use in your game because you’re honestly leaps and bounds ahead of where I am. I’m an 11 handicap and I know 100% of my strokes that put me over par are within 40 yards from the pin. I’ve just switched from the fixed, stiff chipping swing to a hinged, Y shape, flick of the wrist chip and that is definitely the play for me as I was ALWAYS thinning and blading chips straight over the green or way past the pin. I saw you and Rick Shiels explain this Y shaped flicking wrists chipping style and implementing this has taken my strokes down dramatically around the green. I def still need more pointers for different areas and obstacles as to what would play better when hitting shorter or longer chips, maybe over a bunker or just to avoid some taller grass before the green to avoid getting hung up before getting to the green and getting that proper roll on toward the pin. I’m absolutely positive this clinic would benefit a lot of people, not just myself!
Part of the reason Garrett’s short game is so good is all the trick shots he used to do, made his eye-hand coordination stupid good. He has a great imagination too.
