Matt, You established the part about your not going to be building, nor going to run a conventional repair shop or operate during "A" typical hours. I can't even picture you working in a 9-5 setting for any length of time. Your calling is doing just what your doing now, buying, fixing, using and reselling equipment. For most, that's the dream. For you, that's the plan and it's working out very well. The video's are informative, but more than that-there an inspiration. You don't waste time on things like paint, buffing or polishing. Your theory is specific-It starts, it runs, it's here. Come try it, buy it, take it home, paint it and fly it! Your videos show how you got it, what you did to it, and all sales are fair, legit, and final. It doesn't get any better than that.
Love both your auction videos and the troubleshoot and repair. Its nostalgic to see someone do "Mechanic" work, not "Tech" work. Anyone can replace parts til it runs, but it takes talent to troubleshoot and repair.
Years ago, the Car Talk guys would do 'reviews' of a number of mechanics to check and see if they were honest - near the end what they were finding was that the honesty factor was going up while the problem solving was going down - iirc, their conclusion was that the current crop of mechanics weren't knowledgeable enough to cheat well.
Matt, for some reason I lost you for a while, but the good side is I can binge watch ! But, seeing and hearing Matt going around the auction site, reminds me very much of my 7yo son going around Toys R Us with a $50 bill in his hand. Go for it Matt !
Matt, we ran a LOT of those Toyota forklifts at my old job. You have nothing to worry about with those hours. Every one of ours did 40K+ hours before they got sold, and they all ran fine when they went. Never any major issues, just ancillary stuff like a gas converter, bad sensor, or dodgy starter. Major components, never a problem. The brakes on all yours will be good, just like they were on ours -- they never get used! That said, in over 2 MILLION hours I saw those forks, we never had a transmission problem -- NEVER! Pretty good for machines that would be going flat out one way grossing 5.5 tonnes and be slammed into the opposite direction at full throttle. ETA: That valve tick is the worst I've heard on one of those. They normally go away with oil pressure like all the others did. Probably fixable though. And the one that won't start will be some finickity little thing rather than the engine itself.
With a few thousand hours in the saddle of those myself, I also think it's something simple, like a fuel regulator or maybe dirty distributor cap and rotor contacts. These are otherwise very reliable little engines. Those little Toyota motors are definitely built to last.
2 million hours? Are you saying you're over 228 years old or the machines? I'm sure it's because it's really early in the morning but I'm definitely not comprehending what you're saying on that part

I know they are quite popular over there. Not so much here. our local Township has a pretty new backhoe and it was down for like six months waiting on a stupid part that they should have had in stock.
Good history of an English company world wide. I went to a depot of theirs in Kent, (the first one) for a job as a workshops fitter. Honestly everything you do that isn’t just moving dirt is super interesting to me. Love the auctions, the repairs, the diagnostics, and the Autocar content!
Nice haul! You should keep 2 forklifts, lowest hours except if they have noises or running issues, fix and flip the rest. Keep and love the Gradall, fix and flip the Genie, fix brakes on JCB, keep best 1 flip the other. Build some drying racks for lumber for the trailer. A dealers license is also a great idea if you can swing it.
Personally I think the dry van trailer was a great buy at the price. You can use it for storage, or license it and use it to pick up items that you don't want to haul through nasty weather. You'd be surprised at what will fit in those things. We used to pick up John Deere tractors and haul them from Atlanta to Iowa in a dry van.

An equipment refurbishing and flipping shop....Awesome Matt! You have a keen eye, and excellent wrench hand for this business. AND, we get to watch you fix/refurbish the stuff. Hope you have a good power washer. Some of that stuff looked pretty nasty.
Used to haul into and out of Ritchy Bros auction in Kissimmee, Fla. Saw some buys and a lot more money-pits. They are famous at that location for the old "Aerosol Overhaul"!
Great day at the auction! The Genie is your real money maker and should be your priority. Once it runs and you’ve checked it over it will sell super easy for a very good profit - turn it over quick and buy more stuff!
Matt, in the 90's, used to buy NASA used computers, would buy mix lots, restore, sell them about $150 - $250 a pice, underprivileged people areas! Its does help having more then one type of equipment, you can see what trouble shoot works and not work! Enjoy learning something new each RUclips!
Heck ya...want to see you fix to sell and fix to keep! To get 8 forklifts for those prices, you should make a bundle. That Telehandler is going to be so useful.
Good Lord yes, man-please do bring us along getting your machines ready to sell. Really do look forward to what you put up here! Sounds to me like the Gradall is actually the best deal....something darn useful and you have gotten to liking!

When you fire up the old RUclipss and a Diesel Creek video shows up in the feed... you know it's gonna be a good day! Over an hour run time is just gravy! Thanks Matt!
Beauty of Propane fuelled gas engines is how clean they are inside, which makes for long engine life. Forklift No3 probably needs new plugs and an ignition advance vacuum pipe. No 2 sounds like it has compression issues. The windows system is linked to the warehouse inventory via WiFi so that the pick is sent to the operator remotely. When the operator loads the pick he presses the button to update the inventory. Other than the weight display that will not be of much use to you, I guess. JCB is the Cats Whiskers in the UK. Excellent video Matt you had a spree! It would be good to see the flip prep and the profitability.
Great score! I'm so happy you bought a couple of JCBs. I grew up about 20 miles away from Rocester in England where they are made. I loved excavators as a kid and was able to do a factory tour at one of their open days when I was about 15. It culminated in the famous "dancing diggers' show. I'm sure you'll love them.
Piloting the JCB haul truck home went a lot better than the trip with your last crane! Great bunch of purchases this time, thanks for sharing love the auction content and looking forward to seeing you fix them up. Would be interested to see you doing similar with pickups but only if it works out for you- from some previous sales you’ve shown there haven’t been many pickups on offer.
Damn nice haul! I agree, the Genie is what is probably going to bring you the most ROI. I'd like to see the work you have to do to it to get it sold. And those videos will give you some beer money!

I really like the way you did this Auction video with the follow up after with bringing them all home and trying to get the forklifts running!
That transition at 0:14 was *chef's kiss*
And yes please, do show how you prep them for sale!
An equipment refurbishing and flipping shop....Awesome Matt!
You have a keen eye, and excellent wrench hand for this business.
AND, we get to watch you fix/refurbish the stuff.
Hope you have a good power washer. Some of that stuff looked pretty nasty.
He does have a good power washer. Check out his grader restoration videos... You'll see it in action.
Used to haul into and out of Ritchy Bros auction in Kissimmee, Fla. Saw some buys and a lot more money-pits. They are famous at that location for the old "Aerosol Overhaul"!
Yeah but it's not like they try to hide it. They have a huge paint facility on-site to paint their own machines and offer it as a paid service too...
Saturday 9PM in Japan... Perfect time for open a can of beer and chill with DC videos...
In Japan and doing the same
Saturday 8:00 a.m. in the states, just enough time to watch some diesel Creek eat a bowl of breakfast before we get the day started
PM in Tokyo.... same here, enjoy ing Matt’s spring Christmas!
It's the same for many of us regardless where we live. This is a good evening show to watch.
Please more prep-up Videos. I absolutely loved this Video and would Love to See Everthing beeing brought to life and running well.
ABSOLUTELY! I would love to see the purchase of things, repairs (if any) and being sold or even being Kept! Thanks for taking us along!
Yes would love to see more of the prep to sell and all that fun stuff
Yes, love to see the prep / resto process for resale Matt
Great day at the auction! The Genie is your real money maker and should be your priority. Once it runs and you’ve checked it over it will sell super easy for a very good profit - turn it over quick and buy more stuff!
Matt, in the 90's, used to buy NASA used computers, would buy mix lots, restore, sell them about $150 - $250 a pice, underprivileged people areas!
Its does help having more then one type of equipment, you can see what trouble shoot works and not work!
Enjoy learning something new each RUclips!
Definitely my favorite kind of videos! Watching you spend all your money and seeing what treasures you bring back
Glad you like them!
Heck ya...want to see you fix to sell and fix to keep! To get 8 forklifts for those prices, you should make a bundle. That Telehandler is going to be so useful.
Wonder if he’ll sell fat Alice now?
Good Lord yes, man-please do bring us along getting your machines ready to sell. Really do look forward to what you put up here!
Sounds to me like the Gradall is actually the best deal....something darn useful and you have gotten to liking!
Interesting video. Love to see you doing repairs so you can resell the stuff you bought to reinvest in more projects. Cheers from nz
I would totally love to watch you fix and resell any of these items. Keep up the great content it makes my Saturdays
Thanks for the fun Auction video, Matt. You've been busy. I was a bit surprised when you were in the forklift section after the auction and said you bought 8 of them. That was a very funny moment. 😃
Those telehandlers sure are useful. I'm looking forward to seeing the haul trucks in action.
Thanks to Sam for helping with the hauling, brought to us by Scrappy Heavy Hauling, a division of Scrappy Industries. 😉
I vote a big, resounding YES on any project you take us along on, Matt, no matter what. And is it just me, or have The Semi Supervillains kicked it up a few notches? They sound mighty fine!
Happy to see anything you want to show us, so glad things are working out, thanks for taking us along for the journey!
Matt you are living most of our dreams! Would love to see all the repairs and resells of the equipment hall. I enjoy all your videos, dirt work, shop build, repairs, auctions, you make it I'm watching it. Best content creator on here. Pretty sure I'd watch you eating lunch. Congratulations on all your success.
Matt, 'Been watching you since the 'Basement Days' w/Lawn Tractors, to today, WHEW !! You've come a long way baby! Truly impressive to be sure. Your 'Dream Life' is vicariously lived by men, (& boys). THE WEST PENN MAFIA !!
dont make money your god you will perish than, repent and get right with jesus and be baptized for the forgiveness of sins and receive the holy spirit
Best Buy? 534C gradall. Ole’ girl barely
got home and started putting in work. Unloaded $9(ish)k of semi-functional Toyota forktrucks, when she wasn’t pulling the busted genie arond the yard. That’s the gem of the bunch.

briliant matt love these kind of videos keep them coming them JCBs are great little trucks you def wont regret buying them
I enjoy watching you rebuild these machines so keep doing what you're doing.
What a great Saturday morning video! Thanks! Awesome finds!!!!😁🙂
I know it's been 6 months since you posted this video, but I REALLY appreciated it. And yes, would love to see you fixing stuff up. especially diagnosis of issues. how you figure out what is wrong with the equipment. That's my issue normally. I can fix most anything I tackle, if i know what's wrong. I normally just throw new parts a issues, not the most cost effective method. Thanks for your channel Matt!
The repair videos are the main reason I watch your channel. Don't get me wrong, the auction content like this video are fun too.

@@henrylynch3949 i got nice video not about diesel wanna see?
Oh boy! Auction videos are the best!
glad you like em!!
Super excited to see the haul trucks get to work! Great finds Matt and can't wait to see the "fix up" content!
great video matt , with thanks to sam and frank for all the help
@DieselCreek Make sure to install French drains in a area your going to bring up the grade. You dont want the grade to wash away and the best way to help that is to keep the ground saturation down with French drains that run into your creek back there.
Agree: Standing water = Sinking Soil Level!
Without a doubt, this has been one of my favorite auction videos. I am already looking forward to all of the fix-em-up and flip em content. As to the bezt purchace, I like the 2 JCB haul trucks. Thanks Matt, keep on keeping on.
Can say you can pick them
I Just loved watching you drive that JCB home with the awsome music playing!!
Sweeeet!
Good morning Matt and thanks to Sam helping you haul all that home. I hope you will keep one JCB for yourself! Make a good profit on the rest.
The Genie was by far the best purchase, gotta say the low hour forklift was in the running along with the dump hauler. Heck I'd say you made out like a bandit!
The Gradall is a keeper. If you ever get back into local grading jobs, the JCB truck would be handy, and it’s fast and small enough to road to job sites safely.
Love these auction videos Matt. Would absolutely love to watch you get that stuff ready for resale . Would like to see you get that Genie ready and I agree that the Genie was your best buy.
The nicest Forklift you bought has 27k hours Wow Was very well taken care of for the hours Matt wow It runs drives brakes work and all the functions for the lift work sweet 40:15 @Diesel Creek
Let's see the rebuilds! I'm in Leechburg, PA and went through three different weather patterns in 10 minutes yesterday 4/12. Sleet, snow, then rain! Eddie
When you fire up the old RUclipss and a Diesel Creek video shows up in the feed... you know it's gonna be a good day! Over an hour run time is just gravy! Thanks Matt!
The one project I have been really interested in seeing is the overhead crane in your shop. The next one is the boiler for you in floor heat .
I'd LOVE to watch a video of you flipping those machines! The cheap forklifts and the big (relatively) expensive stuff. You are living the dream pal!
Matt thanks for Saturday morning fun show again! My vote is for more repair/restore vids. God bless
Would love to see shop work. Enjoy how you explain the process of getting thing’s running. Keep ‘em coming😊
Pick the nicer telehandler and flip the other one. Fix the gauge, etc. seat covers kit, and a blanket for temporary. Watch the Ramp centering!!
Wonderful way to wind down before bed. 😊
More auction action and fixer-upper fun please Matt!
Couldn’t have gotten a better video on a Saturday……now Matt you got all that equipment so………let’s go!!!!! More videos more often!!
Great buys, cletus could use a forklift with a working brake
Thanks Matt, Loving the content thanks for your time and effort - and yes, lets see more of the JCBs, Genie and Toyota Forklifts, fix up please.
You gotta' love the little Cummins 6BT. What a bulletproof little powerhouse !!
Good Morning from your neighbors to the south in MD! Hope it’s a great day everybody!
