@@DieselCreekmerry Christmas and happy new year to you. Thank you for the uploads this year. Honestly some of the best watching I’ve had. Informative and enjoyable.

18:56 Matt; Tohatsu for a lot of years made the outboard powerhead for most outboard manufactures. Mercury was their number one client. But they also made powerheads for Yamaha, Evinrude (before Bombardier), and Suzuki, and then started building their own motors. They're a really reliable engine.
@@metricstormtrooper They made a 7.5hp & a 15 hp Kerosene trolling motor. BUT as for Diesel outboards, that would be COX, OXE, Yanmar, Cimco Marine, and Mercury. With only OXE, Cox and Mercury building diesel power plants above 50 hp. it is reported that Mercury has a diesel 550 hp beast.
My one customer has begun converting their light plants to LED. They boot up faster, they can install better lights for night working, and they are much less likely to blow bulbs moisture happening in the housings. So if you are having to replace bulbs I would highly recommend going that direction.

So basically thats the normal amount of trucks we get rid of every year lol
Hey Matt, thanks for sharing the sold prices, would like to know what the box truck's sold for, I need one to move cross country and sell when I'm done !

I run an ASV RT-135 Forestry Max for brush removal and snow removal, and I honestly have to say, I absolutely love it. It has a Cummins engine and the cab is a lot more comfortable than you would think plus it's got the best all around visibility compared to other machines. The bogie drive system that they use makes for such a smooth ride and it just has all the power that you could ask for. ASV is owned by Terex and headquartered in Minnesota.
ASV machines surprised me too. I was a diehard Takeuchi fan but ASV moved right up there into the same spot in my opinion. ASV machines might have their better suited environments for operation but man do the ever excel in those environments. Soft ground they are AMAZING.
Those ground heaters work surprisingly well, you loop the heater hose on the ground where you want to thaw or keep from freezing, cover it with insulated concrete blankets and turn it on for the night and in the morning everything is nice and warm. You could use it to help cure concrete and keep it from freezing (can you tell I’m a concrete guy) or foundation’s, whatever. One problem with them is their only needed for two or three months out of the year, so your on the right track trying to get a concrete company interested although you may have to get it operational for them to want one. Good luck with it.
Just home from a 5000km (3000 mile) week for the Christmas break, this is a great little treat to unwind to. Cheers Matt to you and yours for the Holidays.

Good morning Matt wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas 🎄👍😎🙏 from Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹😎 and to all the diesel Creek fans Merry Christmas to you all 👍👍
Dad always told me that if you were going to store an engine for extended periods of time, to fill the crankcase full of oil and put oil in the cylinders to keep everything from seizing up. Then you just drain the oil all out when you need to use it, but we're talking like years of storage. Maybe they were going to store the light plant for parts?
@27:18 in case you’re wondering, the type of snow you’re discussing in the video is called “Graupel.” What’s really funny is when it snows whole feet of the stuff, it acts remarkably like ball bearings and feels pretty weird to ski on. Cheers and Merry Xmas! 🖖😎👍
Yes graupel is odd stuff. But since we're spitting facts, ball bearings are actual bearings that use balls. The little balls in bearings are just balls or more specifically bearing balls. I'm guessing that's what you were saying graupel acts like, is the bearing balls.
Graupel, also called soft hail, hominy snow, or snow pellets, is precipitation that forms when supercooled water droplets in air are collected and freeze on falling snowflakes, forming 2-5 mm balls of crisp, opaque rime. Graupel is distinct from hail and ice pellets in both formation and appearance.
I used to work at a place that made coiled tubing here in Houston. I was a maintenance mechanic and my favorite thing was Forklift PM time. Matt I service these diesel light towers often. Dime to dollar you have a bad capacitor on the pair of lights out on the unit you bought. I think I've probably built one a tower light from top to bottom over the years. #1 problem and biggest pita just like many diesel machines is bad fuel, even worse diesel bug. I run into it so often that I built a fuel polishing machine to filter out water and solids from the fuel tanks. Anyone with as many diesels as you should have one. Once the moisture sets and the fungus starts sliming up the bottom of the tank your in for a ride. After I polish the fuel in the tanks I treat them with Biobor jf which is a biocide. Best stuff you can get. I put it in all my transfer tanks when refueling and large storage tanks. I also recommend a good fuel storage treatment for anything not running the tank down regularly. Anyway, thank you for all the great content, you and Eva have a Merry Christmas, and here's hoping to a better 2024!
Thats a good price on the light plants. I bought an Allmand maxi-lite with a 20kw generator, 4 cyl Isuzu, 21000 hrs and a full tank of fuel for $2500 in Texas 2 years ago. I use it as a backup generator for the house. I cleaned it up, put on a new water pump, serviced it, installed an oil pan heater and a battery maintainer. It doesn't use oil and starts right up. I enjoy all of your videos! Merry Christmas!
That great big ground heater you bought could be converted into the boiler for your shop while you're waiting to get your wood burner in and even then it could be exhilarate

They use those size forklifts in the oilfield on frac operations. The sand bins weigh 40-80k+ lbs and they love em with ease! When I got tired working nights I’d walk over and watch them run

ASV is now owned by Yanmar which is probably a good change. They had been using Cummins engines but Yanmar engines are really solid and used it everything. Yanmar now has some CTLs in their brand name based on ASV models. And yes ASV has been using some Cat parts where it made sense.
When I worked in the oil field we used that ground heater to wrap around our grease head on the well. It kept the well water from freezing and the Grease flowing.
The ground heater would b a nice emergency/standby heater for your slab heat in your shop. Maybe when you're going to be away several days and can't feed the wood boiler, an automatic fuel standby option would be nice.
Matt, it looks like you have a bent/loose axle on the passenger side of the Doosan air compressor. It looks like the tire is way to the back of the fender. You could use that ground heater into your floor heating system instead of an outdoor wood boiler.....
I believe the old volvo was in better conditon than that Terex, the volvos in general are used in majority in Europe I believe as I have seen a lot of them around the UK and it's easier to export them around other parts of Europe . Only seen few of the newer Terex machines around building sites, think that's a US made machine for, in majority, a US market. Happy Christmas Matt, looking forward to more videos!
I have an ASV RCV. I love that thing. I used to move and set several hundred of those 3800 pound retaining wall blocks and it handled them with no problem.
Hey Matt Merry Christmas to you and your Family, EXCELLENT Content!!! ASV' are a good Skid Steer, Made right here in the US out of Minnesota, where we get all kinds of different weather for testing. Keep up the Great work!! Love the Shop!
Fun episode, Matt! Truly, your saving grace is the notion that you really know values and you can get rid of stuff surplus to your needs. Plus there doesn't seem to be anything you need so badly that you'll overpay for it. Top it all off with being able to fix most things on your own. I'm not involved with this type of gear, but to me, a bulldozer or excavator needing new hoses all around could be a few-thousand dollar repair, and a bad cylinder could completely squash the deal.. It reminds me of me, buying and selling broadcast video gear in Hollywood in the 80's. It's a great spot to be in, as long as you can unload your surplus and/or your mistakes without too much damage.
Mount you a generator to the front of that ground heater and give your shop floor a test run Matt, just have a lot of glycol to get though😂. Looks like you got some decent deals this time especially the air compressor
The trailer alone on that ground heater is worth the price. I have an "experimental" Ingersol Rand Light Tower with less than 2000 hours on it. Ran for 40 hours powering the house in our last storm here in Maine. What a champ!
Good morning Matt! I really would enjoy hanging out with you at some of these auctions! Back when I was still truckin' I hauled several loads of auction equipment from various Ritchie Brothers sales. Those were some of the most...interesting (yeah, that's the word I was looking for...😂) loads I put on my step deck! Many, in your own words, were "Clapped out pieces of junk!" The best part of these clapped out units was, the money the customers paid for shipping was always real good. They must have been wanting those broken down old junkers pretty badly! LOL Thanks for putting this one up! It really made my day! Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas Matt and friends. I always enjoy the auction videos nothing like spending somebody else's money LOL If nothing else it makes one weary when they go to an auction LOL Thanks keep the videos coming
Let’s hope Matt doesn’t come home with more projects than he has 😂😂 a very merry Christmas to you miss Eva rosco and the meatball from the United Kingdom
It's definitely the stuff I like to see. I find myself watching the older auction videos with Chris and Justin when I need a laugh. I think it's fun to look at equipment, even if I can't take it home. Thanks Matt and Merry Christmas
Tie that glycol heater into your radiant floor system. You could heat the slab when you are at the shop and not rely on those AC heat pumps. Plus you will love working over a heated slab. Snow and water dries right up.
Thanks for the christmas present, Matt. Always good to have a video from you! At 27:27, we call that "sleet" out here in Indiana. Merry christmas to you and yours, and everyone else!
In years past, i would look through the timed auction and bid on anything that was steel that nobody else bid on. I would spend 2-300 bucks and take everything from the auction to the scrap yard. I made a decent chunk of change doing that. This past auction i spent $400 and after everything was said and done, it cost $1,200. I'll be lucky to break even with the scrap.
The Mobile ground heater could possibly be converted into a Steam jenny pressure washing machine with a SUPER long hose reach....lol. It might take 30 minutes for the water to get thru it but....lol.
Hey Matt. Thanks for the surprise upload. Merry Christmas to you and yours and everybody out these.

The best part of these clapped out units was, the money the customers paid for shipping was always real good. They must have been wanting those broken down old junkers pretty badly! LOL
Thanks for putting this one up! It really made my day! Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas Matt and friends. I always enjoy the auction videos nothing like spending somebody else's money LOL If nothing else it makes one weary when they go to an auction LOL Thanks keep the videos coming
I enjoyed the Christmas auction ride. Buying full fuel & over full oil is a 2 for 1 deal. Merry Christmas to All at Diesel Creek!
Let’s hope Matt doesn’t come home with more projects than he has 😂😂 a very merry Christmas to you miss Eva rosco and the meatball from the United Kingdom
use it as a back up source of heat for the shop or a stand till the wood boiler is built.
Turn the oil burner into a shop heater
It's definitely the stuff I like to see. I find myself watching the older auction videos with Chris and Justin when I need a laugh. I think it's fun to look at equipment, even if I can't take it home. Thanks Matt and Merry Christmas
Jeg ønsker dig en rigtig glædelig jul ☃️🎄🎁😁
Tie that glycol heater into your radiant floor system. You could heat the slab when you are at the shop and not rely on those AC heat pumps. Plus you will love working over a heated slab. Snow and water dries right up.
Military truck?
Thanks for the christmas present, Matt. Always good to have a video from you! At 27:27, we call that "sleet" out here in Indiana. Merry christmas to you and yours, and everyone else!
In years past, i would look through the timed auction and bid on anything that was steel that nobody else bid on. I would spend 2-300 bucks and take everything from the auction to the scrap yard. I made a decent chunk of change doing that. This past auction i spent $400 and after everything was said and done, it cost $1,200. I'll be lucky to break even with the scrap.
Merry Christmas Matt and everyone here!! I really enjoy these auctions ride, keep it this way!!
Yer, it was good. I appreciated you putting in the slides of what the items sold for. Please keep doing that.
16:36, always fun to watch when you buy something from this area.
That heater would be fabulous for heating your barn floor. You’d need to run insulation and a screed over. But what a great way to heat the workshop.
My favorite part of these auction videos is watching Matt accurately guess the selling price of all the equipment. Its incredibly impressive to me
Merry Christmas Matt, thanks for the years viewing.
The heater can power your shop's radiant heating in the winter, when the air source heat pump gives off less heat than it draws electricity
The Mobile ground heater could possibly be converted into a Steam jenny pressure washing machine with a SUPER long hose reach....lol. It might take 30 minutes for the water to get thru it but....lol.
You can use the Ground Heater as a backup to the Wood Fired boiler.😊 46:13
