I think the silver wand is a reference to the fairy godmother in Cinderella
I think it’s Tinker Bell’s since she uses that piece and Fairy Godmother doesn’t have a star on it
It's tinkerbells wand from the intro where she sprinkles pixie dust over the castle
If you eat at Cinderella’s Royal Table in Magic Kingdom (which is located inside the castle) they actually give you (or your kids) a wand (or a sword) on your way out.
@@neal_e still think it's tinkerbells wand seeing as they have so many Cinderella and other Disney character references. I gotta rewatch the video. But didn't he pull the wand from the top? I'd think of that as where tinkerbell dusts the castle tbh. But idk. It's still cool as fuck
I thought since it was paired with a camera it might’ve been the wand they draw the logo with on Disney channel?
I love how much more colourful and spacious this one is, making a lot of use of the interior space. Minifig selection is really nice as well, like to see the Tangled and Princess and the Frog rep. I think it's seriously missing Belle and Beast though.
Yeah, we really need Belle as a minifigure
Omg tiagoooooo lets gooooo
It would probably be a big fig situation which would be very limited. The dance feature wouldn’t work with wide spread legs and low ceilings. It’s a good idea though. Lego need to make some kind of suggestion website where people can suggest sets we want to see and we’ll be able to get figs and builds we want.
@@WhiffTheRubbishEngine1869 well, Lego ideas exists
@@siepie830 But that requires 10,000 people to like it. It also requires talent and skill which not everyone has. I’d say maybe if like 5000 people suggest the same thing then Lego will review it to see if it’s good. If not, they can put it on a list of things they have vetoed so people don’t do it again.
To my taste this one looks better than the old one, I especially appreciate more detailed towers.
But to be honest, when I first heard it's coming - I kinda wanted to see a fully enclosed castle (although it would probably cost an arm and a leg in that case).
Great review as always!
It isn’t just opinion that’s fact the new one is better designed then original
The 2016 castle is one of my favorite sets, and yet this is somehow even better! This is absolutely exquisite. I love all the details and how big and spacious it is, and the minifigures are incredible
I recently got back into Lego starting with the NES and it’s been a rabbit hole of large display sets since. But like the UCS Falcon, it’s just too big without a dedicated space for it.
Writing your reviews before filming and having experience as a designer really set you apart and the length of your videos are perfect. Looking forward to this year’s top sets list!
I think the wand is referencing the beginning from the episodes of the disneyland opening TV show, when Tinkerbell passes her wandover the sign saying Disneyland. It could also be from the disney 100 announcement, but that's inspired by the intro from the TV show.
I like this version of the castle better (but I think the set could include Mickey), great review as always, Tiago!☺
The minifigures from the CMF series really complete this set!
I’ve noticed how a lot of people think the wand has different meaning and I like that. My first thought since it was with the cinema camera was that it’s the wand from the Disney channel that actors would wave around to make the Disney logo. But maybe the wand symbols more than just one meaning
Not really a disney fan but love the color update compared to the last set. Just wanted to say you're my favorite lego reviewer--always so detailed in analysis and impartial with your review
It’s always a delight when your videos come up. Amazing job, they are a joy, thank you Tiago!
I love your lego reviews! You have a great eye for details.
The Disney castle crest really looks like the Danish coat of arms too with the three lions which I find particularly neat too :)
This is such a beautiful and well done set! An amazing upgrade from the original set!
The wand is a reference to the Disney 100 celebrations, using that same silver colour. Amazing review, tempted me into buying this set now.
Nice review, but I would have liked to see a side by side comparison with the original castle.
Don’t have the old one! Sorry!
@@TiagoCatarino Fair enough! 🙂
@@TiagoCatarino Want to borrow one (assembled and displayed)? I got one from the time I met you in Billund :)
Same, only got mine a few months ago on ebay, and part of me wants to get the new one as well.
No need, but thanks! :) Hope you're doing great!
I wasn't thinking about getting it at all before this review but it just looks so gorgeous color and detailed wise!
If you have the space and money, why not! But space really is the issue I would say
7:31 Totally agree Tiago, I’m becoming a bigger fan of small, highly detailed, diorama sets too. I hope these become the mainstay of adult Lego sets in the future.
I love the color choices that they did with this one vs the old one. Great review as always!
I totally agree! Thank you!
I always love your reviews, short but cover everything
I appreciate that! Thank you!
Wow, reviews out this soon? I mean i ain’t complaining, always love me some new Tiago videos
I love this new set uses the 50th-anniversary colours from the castle (it looks so much better than the last one for this IMO). But the price and size would put me off - for me I like models that I can display, I tend to build and display them so as much as I love the references inside for me I would only really see them as I'm building.
So I think I'll be sticking to my smaller but perfectly formed 50th-anniversary castle - it's nicely closed up and has a few nods to appreciate as you build and looks lush on my red shelf 🥰
Great review as always!
Color’s ,design ,Minifigures and size is absolute masterpiece. Can’t wait to get it
I love their new design philosophy of making the building open in the back, not only do you save pieces and thus make the set cheaper, but it makes it easy to access. So many great older sets are completely pointless, because you cannot get inside the building unless you take it apart. And while it sucks for city builders, most people don't have lego cities. They just want it to be able to stand on a shelf.
I don't think it's a new philosophy at all. Most LEGO sets with buildings have been open back for at least 20 years
I think the best way to handle this is like Lion’s Knight Castle, where the set can fold out for play or fold up for display from all angles.
@@whatalansaid Oh that could definitely work as well. Obviously if this set had a backside, i imagine the part count would be some 2000 bricks more and thus a lot more expensive.
Not to mention, having the open back design makes sets like this easier to play with.
wow is stunning, love the colors
what a level up from the last version!
Calling the Little Mermaid reference a fork hairbrush is nothing but a shame !! It's a DINGLEHOPPER !!! 😊
Can’t get enough of your vids
love the vids keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
I like the look of it. I like the colors and some of the changes they made. But it probably be something i pass on its just soo big and if its anything like the old castle its so hard to move around and if i bump it something falls off it. Plus it probably be around a long time so its not a rush and go get item i feel.
Just saw it in person, amazing!
Really great review
The nought color for me looks a bit off but I do prefer this newer castle
My only problem with this set is that if you look at it from behind it will just be like open, same thing if you look at it from the top its just like your building half of the set,i would prefer if it was like the Lion knight’s castle set,all build yet can be opened and closed by a couple of hinges.
For the wand that you were confused about, I think it’s supposed to just be the wand that is in the Disney 100 tease image.
Excellent review. Positive and pertinent.
I din't pick the old one, had my chances but skipped it, am glad I did. I like this one better, will definately pick this one up !! Love your Reviews !!
I also agree, the smaller "adult" sets are much more appealing to me now too 🙌 The dioramas like Jurassic Park and Indiana Jones are a bit too big to display, but the Star Wars ones are fantastic IMHO.
.
Great video though, great set too.
This set is so cool! Great review!😊
Thank you 🤗
The castle at Disney World was re-painted a few years ago, and this set reflects the new paint job!
The Princess Minifigures are a Slam-dunk-Hole-in-one-goalie-shot-home-run in quality, That look amazing and gorgeous. I'm buying the set mainly for them, the build is amazing, too!
I'm a little late watching this review but the colorful leaves just outside the back I took it as a reference to Frozen 2's "Samantha". But the Pocahontas minifigure looks good there as well! Glad I got the whole series so I can display them when I get the set eventually!
I think the wand is a reference to the intro of Tinkerbell. But, I also took my daughter to Disney Magic Kingdom recently, and during the fireworks show at the end of the night Tinkerbell flies over the crowd with her wand. So it could be a reference to that also since there’s a firework element included in the build.
The original castle set is my all time favorite lego. Can't wait to get this one!
I knew we would get a new Lego Magic Kingdom castle when they painted the castle in 2020, it was just a to good opportunity to not make a new version after the paint job. Now I want this one too lol
The wand is from the Disney 100 announcement 😊
The wand in that context with the hand drawn Mickey and the old projector feels to reference "Disney Magic"
6:14 hahah that subscribe brick. Classic.
What do you mean? 👀👀
The wand represents the want that Micky was holding in many of the starting scenes in old movies
Wow quite big looks amazing great review
❤️
First time i See you! Great Review. Abo and like done! Greetings from germay😊
The flying tree leaves could also be a reference to Frozen 2 where there was a ton of them !
The wand is tinker bell !! 😂❤
Thank u for this video. I was wondering if it is worth it!
The wand could be a reference to the video bumpers on the Disney Channel in the 90’s/2000’s.
I love how you say Rapunzel!! XD
The wand is featured a lot in Lego Disney 100 promotions
This set is awesome
I have the 45€ one at home and I must say, even that is already beatiful and this is on a whole other level!
great review as always! apt, direct to the point and no unnecessary blah blahs!
Got more on the pipeline, gotta be quick about it 😂
Honestly though, thanks :)
The "you're watching the Disney Channel" wand haha
Exceptional review as always.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I believe the grey magic wand is the magic wand used to start the "Wonderful World of Disney" TV show when it was on black and white TV.
That is just a guess. I might have dreamed that.
I have the original so can't really justify getting this one, I was hoping to see a side by side comparison to get an idea of size difference. I'm more excited for the hocus Pocus set I think, as it will look nice next to my blacksmith set.
The wand is Tinkerbells. It was used to promote the Lego Disney 100 releases in the catalogue in 2023 Jan to June edition
Oooh I thought that the Green fire behind the mirror could be the spirits from the Princess and the Frog!
The wand might be a reference to the opening sequence for a lot of Disney films where Tinkerbell flies over the castle and taps the spire with a wand
The silver wand is a reference to the Disney Channel when people would say "your watching the Disney Channel", and the draw the Disney logo
My first thought on the wand is it's the Blue Faery's from Pinnocchio
If you didn't know what that wand was refrencing then go watch Peter Pan, it's the wand of the fairy in the movie. Don't remember her name in english though, only in Norwegian.
Projector, Mickey and Wand are references to Fantasia :)
Yeah. This looks like a good set! Although I did purchase the OG Disney castle (at Disney World in Florida) - I REALLY want this set!
Is it worth getting if you have the original?
Even if it's a bit dated by todays standards I still prefer the old one as it's a lot more versatile as it can easily fit into any Medieval setting.
I cannot jive with the new colors for some reason.
@@geerhoar All the colours are quite bright and similar so there's not really much contrast
I believe the wand is reference for both Fairy godmother in Cinderella & the fairies/aunts in Sleeping Beauty.
Penso que gosto mais deste castelo do que o anterior, principalmente por causa das cores e o detalhe dos fogos de artifício foram uma ótima ideia! Você fará review do set de Peter Pan no Big Ben? Adorei as cores da Londres à noite.
Obrigado!
Talvez faça 👀
The stained glass windows are amazing.
Imaging a minifig scale Disney castle
I'm still waiting to buy myself the Lego Rivendell LOTR set
How long did it take to build?
Looks like this might be a good way for builders to get more sand blue and light nougat
How many stickers in it? thank you
The wand was used on promotional material to introduce the Disney100 Lego Sets
Magic wand could be a reference to "Wand ID" from Disney Channel? The star of various show will take this "magic wand" and draw mickey logo between each program.
I really didn’t want to buy this because I have the old one…but this review has convinced me
The video is in depth, however, it did miss showing the back of the mini figures
Could the wand be a reference to the Disney Channel idents - “You’re watching the Disney channel!” While they wave the mouse logo with a wand
So happy that they didn’t get Flynn’s nose wrong 😂
"Flynn's smolder-face!" :D (That being said, I think the wand belongs to Cinderella's Fairy Godmother.)
6:59 Pinocchio, the blue fairy, tinker bell, the fairy godmother or the wand from fantasia
Me watching this video knowing that I’ll never be able to afford this set (I still didn’t check the price)
It’s soooo big 🙈 I want to buy it but where do I keep it
Wish there could have been a reference to Disneys The Black Cauldron
I agree it's a really underrated Disney movie!
Why these entrance doors are not also at Eldorado?
6:40 It’s a camera. Animated movies were shot on film before computer animation
I find the previous version to be better looking, but this one to have a bit better building technic. Overall, going by this review, it feels more of a re-colour and less of a completely new set.
can you do a review on the guitar lego set? i got it and its a really good set!
Fork in candle reminds me of beauty and the beast
Either the fairy godmother or Tinkerbell...
I'm going to buy this castle it's beautiful ❤❤
That's a lot of gold!
You are the #1 reviewer on RUclips Tiago! (Other than Racing Brick for technic, but we know you don’t cover those) ;)
looks epic
