I used to watch this when I was a kid and that was in the 80's I had one video and it had Andy Pandy on, a sausage dog - the lady made paper lanterns, and there were the wooden tops as well. 'Whats for dinner today, Sawdust and hay for dinner today'
Amazing flashback! It is 1963 and I am 3 years old, sitting two feet away from our fuzzy black and white television totally transfixed by what I am watching. And I can comprehend, just a little what my children see in Teletubbies and In the Night Garden
The original show had only 26 episodes They rerun them until 1970 Did any of us click, that we were watching reruns On the other hand, did we just love the show?
Brings back so many good memories , things were so much easy back then , kids appreciated the simpler things in life , too many kids today (including mine) are too spoilt for their own good and appreciate nothing , they seem to skip childhood and grow up too quickly getting everything on a silver platter................
I had never heard of Andy Pandy until a friend who is a Scotsman - and lives in Edinborough (spelling?) - told us about watching the program on television when he was a boy. He mentioned Andy Pandy with strings so, dense me, didn't realize he meant they are puppets. LOL. They are cute here. - Paula
i remember trying to guess what the letters would be as the boxes turned....obviously very young as not realised they always spelt andy pandy!! well, I was 3 in 1963
Fucking gives me the creeps, i used to have it on "video cassette" :L i had to cover it with something coz the front cover scared me when i was little!!
Because around 1957/58 Britain was awash with American TV shows which brought about a change in the accent and the way the Brits used slang. Not only that there was also mass immigration from Carribean countries that shaped the dialect
@gspete1340 punch and judy shows trivialize a serious issue, domestic violence. andy pandy on the other hand portrays the innocence and purity of childhood. they may be puppets but a deeper meaning is apparent to intelligent people such as myself.
@Ann1shoes Admittedly it transported me back to the early 60's sitting in front of the steam telly - I can even smell the valves warming up I swear it....but hang on! Innocent days? well we probably were but what about Andy, Teddy and Looby Lou going off to bed together in that basket - a wild wickery threesome.
Dere I say it , a happier world , where children were children , an innocent time with Mum & our black & white telly .No war to worry about it was all sort of safe , now God only knows what's going on , too much information too soon everything speeding up , I would'nt miss technology it only makes things worse .
They used to play this all the time on Nick Jr when I was little and I adored it. I hate the new CGI version; it's rubbish! Ahh, I love getting all nostalgic for the stuff from my childhood, I might only be sixteen but time really does go too quickly...
Andy Pandy coming to play, lalalalalala Andy Pandy here to stay, lalalalala Andy Pandy under your bed, lalalalalala Andy Pandy watching you sleep, lalalalala Andy Pandy holding a knife, lalalalalala Andy Pandy slitting your ears, lalalalala Andy Pandy gouging your eyes, lalalalalala Andy Pandy with a chainsaw, lalalalala Andy Pandy cuts you open, lalalalalala Andy Pandy watches you scream, lalalalala Andy Pandy yanks out your tubes, lalalalalala Andy Pandy sees your mother, lalalalala Andy Pandy picks up a tube, lalalalalala Andy Pandy ties her with it, lalalalala Andy Pandy rips out your lungs, lalalalalala Andy Pandy eats them both whole, lalalalala Andy Pandy grabs on your heart, lalalalalala Andy Pandy snaps it in two, lalalalala Andy Pandy digs out your skull, lalalalalala Andy Pandy sees mother cry, lalalalala Andy Pandy crushes the skull, lalalalalala Andy Pandy returns to hell, lalalalala
@Gh198x Well of course you'd think it scary because you are of a different generation.I guess you'd be scared to go 100 yards from home without your mother holding your hand
It wasn't supposed to be ANY sort of role model - it was supposed to be a puppet show for kids, which is what is was!!! What's your views on Punch & Judy, then? I bet you think Punch should've undergone anger management courses and Judy should've taken self-defense classes...."role model" - do the world a favour and GET A LIFE!!
I never liked this as a child, it confused me. Andy Pandy was dressed like a girl and acted like one but had a boys name. Confusing..it still is. What sort of role model was this supposed to be to young children.
AMAGAAD!! I remember andy pandy! Watching it on the old panasonic tv.
I hope you're doing well, now you're close to 30!
