Your reaction to this amazing performance is absolutely priceless!!!! really beautiful the way you got all the way into it....... first into the rhythm and then the depth of the song seemed to take you a little by surprise.........so beautiful....... Bobby Hatfield is long gone but forever young with this unique live performance. Obviously you know great music when you feel it Gary H. N.J.
I was born in 1955. I've heard a lot of love songs and being raised in Detroit, I've heard most of the greatest. However, my favorite of all times. Every thing that the righteous brothers sang was golden! The most iconic duo ever!
I'm 73 yrs old and still get goosebumps everytime I hear him sing this beautiful song. His voice was awesome and he was so handsome! Pure raw talent! RIP Bobby! We miss you! ❤
Bobby Hatfield was 25 Years old when he recorded this in 1965. He was also a counter tenor, that's how he can get such high notes and falsetto. This song came from a prison movie called "Unchained", made in the mid 1950's. Bobby took the melody and made it better! Thanks for your reaction!
Bobby Hatfield was one of the greatest singers ever. This song is one of the greatest in music history. When he teams up with Bill Medley the other brother they sing such great songs as You lost that Loving Feeling, Soul and Inspiration, For once in my Life, Little Latin Lupe LU. And more. There in the Rock and roll Hall of Fame and sure deserve it. Best success on yr channel
A friend has put me on to viewing these reactions.. I was there in studio for the Andy Williams Show. I was on leave in the Navy and had my fiancee with me. She wasn't happy with me being away for long cruises and having just moved to the big city, she was ready to move on with her life. At the end of dinner, I proposed to her (after asking the piano player to play this song).. she told me later that the song playing was why she said yes. Just lost her in April after 56 years. Love you baby and be seeing you soon so I can hold you and we can listen to this together again.
Bobby Hatfield has been winning the hearts of females of all ages for nearly 60 years. You are in very good company. T K, that was a wonderful reaction. May I recommend 'Soul and Inspiration' as well as 'You've Lost That Loving Feeling'. Two other classic Righteous Brothers songs I am sure you will love. Best wishes, RNB
His beautiful sound was known in the 60's as "blue-eyed soul". His voice draws out emotions now, almost 60 years later, as much as it did then. Your reaction is priceless!!!
what a beauitful reaction!! thank you for helping to keep bobbies spirits alive. Hard to believe bobby threw up before these performances from stage fright and sadly he died of cocaine abuse
With his counter tenor singing voice he made singing the high notes look like a walk in the park. He left us much too soon. Bobby Hatfield: KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) - Righteous Brothers singer Bobby Hatfield's death in November was caused by cocaine and not just heart failure, according to the official autopsy report. Dr. Richard Tooker, chief medical examiner for Kalamazoo County, told the Kalamazoo Gazette in Tuesday's editions that Hatfield's death was triggered by acute cocaine intoxication. Hatfield, 63, died Nov. 5 just hours before a Righteous Brothers concert. He and his partner, Bill Medley, had hits like Unchained Melody, and You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling. "This is a shock to me," Medley told The Orange County (Calif.) Register from his Newport Beach, Calif., home. "I never saw him (use cocaine). I knew absolutely nothing about it. If I had known, I would have said something to him." An initial autopsy found Hatfield had advanced coronary disease. A heart attack due to the disease was listed on Hatfield's death certificate. However, Tooker said a final cause of death was not determined until after toxicology reports were completed. The death certificate will be changed to reflect cocaine as the cause of death, he said. Tooker's office received the report of cocaine intoxication on Dec. 24, but he asked for the information to be released after the holidays out of respect to Hatfield's family. Messages left Tuesday with Tooker and the William Morris Agency, which represents the Righteous Brothers, were not returned.
CAN YOU BELIEVE A PERFORMANCE LIKE THIS FROM BOBBY HATFIELD BACK IN 1965. HIS PERFORMANCE WAS SO SMOOTH AND PURE AND ROMANTIC AND B E A U T I F U L AND, BY THE WAY, BOBBY HAD "MOVIE STAR" GOOD LOOKS. HE WAS 25 YEARS WHEN HE SUNG THIS SONG. THE GIRLS THEN AND NOW ALL LOVE HIM. TAKE CARE KENNY FROM EMILIO IN ADELAIDE CITY IN AUSTRALIA
Bobby Hatfields performance was pure. It was live no do overs. No one will ever do this song better alot have tried but his voice was from the heavens There are two bros.Bill Melody is the other half. BOBBY did this song solo but Bill was there on the side Bobby's tenor voice and Bill Melody baritone voice shouldn't have blended together but they did and it was magic.they both did solos over the years. You should play Soul and Inspiration by them .this song was played on the radio more than any other song even today. They were inducted into the ROCK and ROLL HALL OF FAME in 2003 unfortunately Bobby passed away a few months after this but Bill Melody is still singing and performing today after over 50 years 💔
"Unchained Melody" is a rework (cover) of a song composed for a 1955 prison movie, titled "Unchained"; hence, this is the "melody" from the movie "Unchained." Anyhow, many artists have sung this but none anywhere as well as Mr. Bobby Hatfield here; he's one-half of the Righteous Brothers, Bill Medley being the baritone counterpoint to Bobby's tenor (and higher at times). Flash back to a 1966 high school prom, sweetheart couples all over the gym slow dancing to this with the lights dimmed and some decorations lit by swiveling/rotating lights. Nice to time travel!
I am a music lover and I like to dance. The first time I heard this song , I felt in love with it. I listen to it every night before bedtime. Thank you for spending this time with us. 💕
I AGREE WITH YOU TOYOBO, THIS SONG BY BOBBY HATFIELD WAS SO PURE, SMOOTH, SWEET, SENSUAL. ROMANTIC, CLASSY AND INCREBILY B E A U T I F U L. BOBBY VERSION REALLY DOES CAPTIVATYE THE HEARERS SOUL. IT IS NO WONDER YOU "FELL IN LOVE" WITH BOBBY AND THIS SONG. AND, BY THE WAY, BOBBYS VERSION OF THIS SONG WAS IN THAT FAMOUS FILM "GHOST" STASRRING PATYRICK SWAYZE AND DEMI MOORE. THEY WERE A PERFECT MATCH. TAKE CARE FROM EMILIO IN ADELAIDE CITY IN AUSTRALIA
Your reaction was so sweet and so genuine. You've Lost That Loving Feeling is one of theirs that I highly recommend. I promise you, you won't be disappointed.

If I could go back 55 years I would have loved to SLO Dance with you while this song was playing. Your reaction made me want to fall in Love with you. Beautiful Reaction !
hi Toyobo, very nice reaction , thanks , you might check out another great singer , Tom Jones, ' i'll never fall in love again ' 1965 hope you enjoy it , ciao 4 now
His name is Bobby he sings this song by himself his partner is Bill I think this is the only song that Bobby sings by himself it was sung in 1965. They both have different last names so they are not Brothers but anyway if you want to hear some more of this songs then I would check out you lost that Loving Feeling also soul and inspiration and another one is Rock and Roll Heaven
That's Bobby singing by himself because his brother didn't think this would be a hit..So Billy's back stage kicking himself.. That's what he said.... Actually they weren't blood brothers but brothers just the same. Unfortunately Bobby is no longer here ..
This song is so poignant and passionate. Knowing the context makes it even more poignant. The context is about a prisoner who misses his wife's touch and love and is in great anxiety over whether time, which can do so much, has eroded her love for him (Are you still mine? I'll be coming home, wait for me, wait for me). The song is from a 1950s movie, Unchained, about this man (he sings it in the movie).

Smooth, buttery, effortless, and raw talent. Thank you Toyobo for loving a piece of my past. No auto tune in 1965.
This is "our song" with my husband. But this is version is the 1 that will be play at my funeral.
Lovely reaction, lovely girl.

Not actually.
They both sang solo songs.
One on each album.
Now we need a great female singer, like a Pat Benatar to answer this song on a flip side in the same slow style. It would be a smash!
That's Bobby singing by himself because his brother didn't think this would be a hit..So Billy's back stage kicking himself.. That's what he said.... Actually they weren't blood brothers but brothers just the same. Unfortunately Bobby is no longer here ..
