Great video! Just a heads up, even though gore-tex technically is air-permeable, it isn't permeable enough for breathing. Always keep an opening in the bivy to prevent suffocation!
I spent over 10years in the British army. The standard bivvy was great. Swap the lace that's in the hood for some shock cord, means you can close it to a mouth size hole (calm down all you ex navy boys) and nothing ever got in. Or if it did I never noticed. Bought a Dutch hooped for my last few years in service but the basic was my favourite. Stick it in yer bergin and you can use it as a liner.
Morning mate, great advice right from the start 👍. Interesting video, good kit. Thanks for sharing buddy. Keep positive an keep it up mate your doing great 👍😁🔥🇬🇧
Good summary. I think a regular bivvy bag and a basha make the most sense - practically and economically. BTW: The audio was fine for me. I'm more Interested in what people say, than whether it's studio quality. Cheers
Used the dutch one but now since many years the Carinthia Observer Plus. Double hooped at the head and little higher. Doe the jib, but use it months in a row so worth the money
Great. The Carinthia observer looks a tidy bit of kit actually, but probably above my price range. Very similar design to a snugpak stratosphere but bigger and better. Enjoy it 👍🏻
I've got the Dutch hopped bivvy and had no matters with it and felt comfortable, but surprisingly for me what I can't stand because make me feel so claustrophobic is the sleeping bag. I should make an effort to spend a big money to change to a quilt I guess. Greetings from the Western Mediterranean sea shore!
Yes I have the same problem. I usually just open the sleeping bag and put it over me like a quilt, as you say sleeping bags make it very claustrophobic. Thanks for watching.
It’s kind of hard to explain, with the hooped bivvy the whole thing is pegged down and is really rigid. The bivvy bag can move with you just like a sleeping bag does. It’s probably just a personal preference thing and I guess the bivvy bag feels a little less confined to me. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Nice vid..i had the carinthia hooped bivy in the the Dutch army begin 2002 together with the Carinthia tropen and Defence 4 MSS ..the replacement is made by Fecsa du to the cost ...cheap basterd our Dutch government..greetings from Holland 👊🏽👍🏾🇳🇱
Thank you! I was looking for this comparison!

Just the standard bivvy for me. The others are extra weight/pack size for little gain.

Thanks I quite agree on the bivvy and basha
Another superb video, thank you. Keep up the good work!

Maybe a Swiss TAZ 83 Alpine bivvy would be better for that time of year. I never thought it could ever be used 😂
Great stuff
I use my Dutch hoop bivvy quite a bit, sometimes a bivvy bag 👍
You did alright no pressure it takes time
Thanks so much

@@guerrillashadowman Thanks for sharing your take and knowledge. On the Belgian Jigsaw camo Tent should be good a Fabsil treatment, isn't it?
@@gabrielferaud8360 yes it’s a great tent, Fabsil should fix the leaks
@@guerrillashadowman Thanks my friend!
I thought you did great talking to the camera.
Thank you very kind of you to say 👍🏻
It’s hard not too be critical about your self, but I thought you great. I think I’ll stick to my basic bivalve bag for now
Ah thanks that’s kind of you 👍🏻 yeah bivvy bags are great
What was it that meant you like the basic bivy more than the other two hooped bivy? Sorry if I missed it in the video.

Yep sometimes it is just that you like a thing!
Check my review on the dpm version of the dpm version of the sf hooped bivvy..
