I made this from watching your video three years ago. I love it. I am not crafty at all, but I could do this. Just one tip that I learned, I spray painted the whole thing dark green (before the garland is put on), so when you put on the garland, if there are any spaces, they don't show up. Thanks. One of my favorite Christmas decorations.
I love this idea! I live in Phoenix, Arizona and have no interest in decorating a real cactus. This one came out so cute and I think I need to make one!
I absolutely love this idea!! Esp bc I live in the Florida Keys and love cacti!! I will do this but add a string of tiny LED lights! I currently have the Peanuts Charlie Brown Christmas Tree 🤣. I wish I could leave a picture here! Happy Holidays!!🎅🤶🎄
@@cravensvt 😂 I watched my neighbor spend like 2 hours yest trying to put lights on one palm tree...and I don't think she was happy she never turned them on🤔😂 I'm in Big Pine Key! And this is much cooler and unique! Plus I have a buttload of shells i would put around the base...actually I have a huge real cactus, but that's too dangerous to put lights on! Needles the length of your pinky finger!🌵🎄🤶🎅✌💚 Happy Holidays! Its actually kinda cool out for the first time this year! I love this weather! 🤗🏜🏝✌
What a fun project! ❤️❤️❤️ If you don't have power tools at home, most home improvement stores will be able to cut the PVC for you. Sketch out a quick diagram of your design with rough measurements so you can have the pieces cut to the right length. That will also give you a good idea of _how many_ pieces you need before you go shopping. Larger stores, like Home Depot and Lowes, may also have scrap PVC that's already been cut. ❤️
Some saguaros do have arms that reach down or in other directions. But not usually the healthy ones. ;) Now I want to build a saguaro to go on the front porch. Growing up we had one right outside my window and the woodpeckers loved to make their nests in it and then come peck on our roof. Not sure why they liked our roof since it was of tin (we lived in a 70s era mobile home/trailer), but whatever. The cactus ended up dying and we had to have a specialist come out for it because there are all kinds of saguaro protection laws in Tucson. Yup. Anyway, I enjoyed this video recommended by RUclips after I watched another video of Kim surviving 2020. Not sure how I missed these crafty ones in the past.
This was a super cute craft and I could see some people doing this with neon pink or turquoise garland and leaving it out all year long in a xeroscape garden. I think the next thing you guys should tackle is a light up yard decoration, like giant glowing Christmas presents, or a giant Christmas light ornament.
Love! We added lights and yarn Pom-poms. I’m having a Grinchy season so this tree was made for me. Would love to send you a pic. Thanks for the inspiration.
I like this one.... I mean, I like them all lolol.... but this one turned out great! Except, I would NEVER use a power saw of any kind on a really nice countertop!!! But... Gutzy for sure!!!!! Love you all Merry Christmas!!!
@@SunshineCatwoman My daughters gave me a Michaels gift card for Mother's Day, and I picked up some crochet pattern books... one of them is all cactus patterns!
I’ve been watching these D-I-Wives videos thinking Monica seemed familiar...wasn’t until you mentioned your fire pit design I realised Monica is from The Weekender! Sorry it took me so long Monica.... PS love the cactus!
This looks great. Do you have the specifics on the instructions-measurements really- that you can post? What size did you cut the pipe into with the saw?
joanp62 eyeballing it, looks like the first arm is 10” sideways and 1 1/2’ up, other side is 8” sideway and 1’ up, center section of the trunk is about a foot. The lengths will look longer until connected because at least 1 1/2” covered by the joints.

I'm from Tucson, where those cactus are everywhere. They definitely do have arms that point down but up is more pleasing.

and it takes a really long time to grow a cactus
This could turn into a multi-seasonal cactus!!!! Pumpkins, Easters Eggs, etc.
That was exactly what I was thinking!!!
Cute. I think a string of lights would up the cute factor.
Super cute!!!
Intro is on point! 0:40
That is super cute
This is awesome! I am going to make one of these.

Quispy Queen I was thinking the same thing! In key largo, and this is way cooler than wrapping the palm trees to me.

I think all the crafts that you guys did significantly got better once you added Monica!
being from Arizona, displaced in Virginia, this would be the perfect craft for the little one and I!
My husband and I are from Arizona and currently displaced in Mississippi!
Chelsea Westfall oh no! Why do we always end up so far from home! Hehe.
@@PhilsFamily I have asked myself that since we moved here...well that and if it is time to go back. Hahahaha lol

I NEED MORE DIWIVES IN MY LIFE!! ❤️
Add twinkle lights!
I love the DYI vids!!

Being in Arizona, we recently made a 6 ft christmas cactus!
So excited to see Monica on live with Kelly and Ryan this morning!!!!
Reciprocating saw would be my first choice power tool although I’d probably just use the PVC pipe cutter that I have which is manually operated.
Duane Miller my go-to is the saw-all if it’s like this and doesn’t have to be exact for pvc, sadly not everyone has the fun toys... I mean tools.
Chris Craven seeing as I’m not in construction or plumbing nor am I a mechanic by trade, I think toy was the right word.

Now I want to crochet a version of this!
I have planned to crochet a lifelike cactus for years, and now I think using the PVC pipe as a base would be perfect.

I wish I saw this sooner! Too close to Christmas now. I live on the IL/WI border and think a Christmas cactus would be funny 😀🤭
Good job ladies.🌵🌵🌵
I love ❤️ Yalls videos have a good Christmas
Love it
The double person sweater was....😂
Add some lights...would make it awesome!!!
The thing is in the beginning when Kim and Penn are sharing a sweater it looks like Monica is a third wheeler.😂🤣

@@cravensvt Ok, thank you.
Use a pvc cutter, or a pvc saw, or a chop saw/miter saw.
How did you not break the kitchen light fixture during this project?
Chris Wherley I was thinking the same. I got nervous whenever I saw pipes too close to it.
I live in the land of cacti (Arizona) and many people put decor on their Caruso including a Santa hat 😄
different size pipes would make different size cacti family members
I want to see you build a gingerbread dollhouse .
First!!! FYI I love your videos. These are always cream of the crop tho
No cacti but we re did some 25 year old candy canes Can not get the screen to let me send the pictures you requested. Love the Holderness Family!
okay, we did it! I tagged y'all with a pic on your instagram :)
Next time get a PVC cutter.. so worth the cost as they are so easy to use.
I’m early for once!!!
Can you do the what's that smell challenge

Why do two adult, educated women not know how cacti grow?
That was painful to watch.
