    Another reason I keep coming back, a nice enjoyable canoe camp video with some interesting campfire banter. I just got back from 4 days in the north Maine Woods, mosquitoes where bad but at 75 I’m using my little pop up truck camper this time of year , very comfortable. Thanks for the video, as always I enjoyed it.

      I had a high/low truck camper. Jay something, I forget now! But I loved it, ok for 2 but perfect for one person, and a dog 😆 Just for a teaser there will be a short video coming down the pipe. Something that could use your expertise😉

      Once we get into the real hot summer weather they taper off. One can sit outside until 8:00 before they are a nuisance.

    .I will never get married seeing those incredible landscapes of Lake Ontario my friend. I'm sure it's cold but I don't know if the ingredients are beer or coffee, you should try it hahahahaha. Those annoying mosquitoes are everywhere. In the rainy season we have them here in the city and all houses must have mosquito nets on their windows. When we go fishing we have to take pavilions to be able to sleep because the mangrove area is a favorite place for them, and of course the repellent that should never be missing in your body. Wow if you get out of that shelter all those sandwiches will eat you. The camp is a very appropriate activity for physical and mental health. Blessings my friend.

      Yes I am blessed to be surrounded by beautiful landscapes, I don't take that for granted! I bet mosquito nets are essential in the mangroves! I would still love to go visit just the same👍

    Hi Marc. Beautiful country. But I don't know if I would be (Canadian) tough enough to with stand the mosquitoes. But the south Arkansas mosquitoes would give them a run for their money. Nothing but thousands of acres of flooded rice fields. Nice video bud!

    Well, Marc, you are a brave man to go up against those flies! They looked bad and I know that they can be just terrible. The moose left a few little surprises for you. It's nice to know that they visited. It looks like you have that campsite to yourself. Nice to have a place that nobody goes to. The beaver lodge was a good place to get firewood even though it was too hot to burn most of it. It sounds like the wood will be there for a return trip later in the year. What I use to keep the flies away is VICKS VAPO RUB. You can buy a knock off brand at the Dollar Store and it works. You will have to apply it heavily and you'll smell like menthol but it works! You don't want to hear this, but we went camping (with our trailer) twice in the last month and there were almost no flies whatsoever. We did not need fly repellant or Vicks! I was very surprised that we could sit by the river and read and not be bothered by any flies. And we often have black flies and mosquitoes too, but not this year. It sounds like they all flew over to northern Ontario! haha

    • @OpenAirOutdoors
      @OpenAirOutdoors  Год назад

      Lucky you! No flies! The Vicks thing is an old school trick, and it does work👍
