I feel like I owe you a couple bucks! I've been stumped with my Whirlpool Duet WGD97HEXW1 gas dryer. I initially was following the route that other videos pointed to (thermistor) and replaced it but the clothes were still not drying in a cycle. I watched the burner hole and noted that the ignitor would glow and the gas would ignite but about a minute later there was no flame. The build-in diagnostic mode revealed no codes/problems. Watching this video made me understand that if the gas burner shuts off after a minute and doesn't come back on that these are the parts to replace. When I checked the Whirlpool parts explosion it showed the solenoids as part of a $300 burner assembly, but with a bit more digging I found that the solenoid assembly (WPW10328463) is available (aftermarket) as a separate component for $17. Once it comes in I'll swap it out and report back my results.
I have a gdg18cs dryer that i can't get the coils for it a/o discontinued. Is there anything i can do to rebuild those coils or other coils that I can make it it work?

I used a wire hanger to hold the drum up with a screw on the drum and a mini socket wrench that has screw driver bits..had to tape the bit to the wrench. This was the best video i saw on here plus the one telling me to use a hanger. The was vital helpful info to not take the second screw all the way out.and vacuuming it out too. Thanks.

I JUST DID ALL THIS! my dryer used to come up and heat up, but when it cycled off, it couldn't ignite after the initial startup. Definitely the gas coils. Now my dryer works perfectly again TWO THINGS;. 1. The drum can be tricky to get back into position. My felt ring was kind of falling apart, and strips of it kept dangling inside and making it hard to put the drum back on, so I tore off the loose strips. 2 DO NOT SKIP THE CLEAN UP OF THE BACK OF THE DRYER. Do EVERYTHING, just like the tech did in the video. I pulled off that interior vent tube and there was so much lint and dirt in a big lump that i couldnt hold in two hands. My exterior vent tube was clean, but untold years of dust, dirt and small pieces of pens, and whatnot had collect in that tube thing.

Isn't it necessary to turn off the gas before removing the coils? When I loosened the bolts on the bracket I smelled gas until I turned off the gas shutoff valve.

Fantastic video! I used it on my Whirlpool LGR7646EQ1. The heat wouldn't turn on so I first checked the fuse with a multimeter and found it was blown. I wish the video showed that part. If that isn't the culprit then you move onto the coils and finally the ignition. This video however was instrumental in showing me how to actually get to the coils. Unlike the video I was able to clean everything without taking off the drum, I just took the front off and was able to use the shop vac to clean underneath.

Thanks very much! Never realized there were so many sensors in the dryer. Decided the easiest one to reach and test for continuity was the fuse mounted on the back of the dryer. Sure enough it was blown. In the past, every few years I would clean out the 4 inch exhaust pipe but never thought about removing the rear exhaust vent pipe to vacuum the lint out. When I removed the rear vent pipe I was shocked at how clogged the pipe was. No wonder the heater fuse blew. Fuse cost $15.00 from the local parts store.

Hey I have same dryer... Not heating properly... I open the little cap in the bottom like you said and I see flame coming but only for few seconds... Then go off for few minutes and start again for few seconds (2 or 3 seconds). That's no normal? Do I need to get it fix? Or is normal?

THE VIDEOS ARE VERY HELPFUL
I feel like I owe you a couple bucks! I've been stumped with my Whirlpool Duet WGD97HEXW1 gas dryer. My gas dryer only heats when it is empty. Throw in I item… no flame.
Try selecting timed dry and not automatic dry and put 4 t-shirts. If they dried off then your moisture sensor is defective
