I's the micro Kok that' ya that ya don't want. Women married to a micro Koks say Kok size doesn't matter. I refer to these ladies as never had their feet pointed at the ceiling. Small Koks say they more anal but is it worth it? Kinda like winning a metal at the Special Olympics...
In fairness, it's super common for fish, especially marine fish, to swap sexes at least once in their lifetime -- or to start out without a sex entirely Nature is weird /shrug
Since I started making lures, I told people, "Nate Marling is my bait making mentor...he just doesn't know it yet." I guess I can't do that anymore... 😂 I meant every word of that testimonial!
I bought the Fish With Your Masterpiece course.... I don't really even fish anymore. I've never made a lure. Never even attempted it... But I enjoy these videos and I like how Nate explains the things he's doing. Just supporting a guy who loves what he does and put a ton of effort into teaching others was worth it. Maybe one day I'll make a lure.... 😂
That is definitely one of my favorites! Wow brother!! The paint and the carving are just stellar!! Forget the C+, those lead spots add character. I’m saying a super solid B+
I've been watching you for years. You are a master of your craft. Your lures are works of art. Thank you for letting us follow your journey. Love your work bro!
Life long giant nuchal gill catcher here and first off im just amazed by what you can do, plus those fins are perfect so the time spent on them was worth it.
Another Gem Nate, insane paint job but i think its time for another challenge. Make a backwards (line tie at tail, rear hook hanger at nose) glidebait using a baitfish of your choosing. If you could make that official that would seal your title as Master Bait maker
Great videos! Here's a tip. Use a sharp blade to smooth the edge of the plastic. For example, take the blade out of a plane. Hold securely with the flat edge on the plastic. Then pull backwards. You can get the plastic sides almost clear without sanding.
You answered a question I was thinking about at the moment I was thinking it. That is weird. I work with polymer clay and after I sand it to 1500 grit I polish it to a shiny shine by putting 6 3” round pieces of blue jean material on my Dremel flex shaft and polish it at high speed. It doesn’t melt or warp anything. Meanwhile, you are making some of the best looking lures I’ve ever seen. They’re beautiful! Of course I want to see you fish with this one when the fish are biting.
I like that you put your experience with torches on the edges of strong poly carbonate. You can also try mothers aluminum polish andva buffing wheel on slow speed.
When you just had the sand painted, with the green topside it looked really similar to a winnipeg green back walleye.. that would be a sick lure in the future 👀
U may not see this but I hope u do but my 3 year old son loves watching your videos. every night before bed he asks to watch the fish maker. (He thinks u make fish). I’ve watched all your videos and thought of a cool idea for a lure for next time u go salt water fishing. How About a baby stingray with a jointed tail would be a cool build and paint scheme.
A thing you can try, instead of direct raw dog glue wood to wood, what I’ve done doing similar things, I put painters tape on each surface, then apply the glue. That way, you’re only only prying apart painters tape and not bonded wood. Doubt I explained that properly, but it’s made my life much easier!
You explained it fine, I get it. When I have trouble separating pieces I just hit it with a heat gun a little and it softens the glue up nice . Good tip tho 👍
Hi Nate. I love the videos. I've been since watching pretty close to your beginning. I don't often comment because I watch RUclips mostly on my TV and I can't comment on that app. But I just wanted to say thanks for the great videos. You do make it look easy. I have wanted to start. But I don't have any equipment yet. My income is limited because I am disabled. But someday I hope I can somehow afford to get equipment. I look for used stuff on Facebook marketplace all the time. But when the good deals come up, I never seem to have the spare money. And I hope to one day to become a member. I am not complaining in any way about the price. It is a steal for what is included. And I wish you only the best in your sales. But for right now it is beyond me. I wish you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving. God bless.
You can get fine grit sandpaper grits for your 1x30 belt sander. It would make sanding the lips much faster. You may need to make non-scratch platform so the lip does not get damaged.
Nice Kok bro
Immediate change of videos when MarlingBaits posts
%100 agree 😂
lol yes
I have a big Kok aswell, welcome to the club
Luckyyyy

His voice is so relaxing that I fell asleep last night while I was watching this😅
This is one of the few places on youtube I can hear that eternally satisfying pop when a block of wood transforms into a segmented swimbait.
You are right and this one was especially exquisite
One of your finest fun facts yet. Thanks for the in depth description of a kok
That is definitely one of my favorites! Wow brother!! The paint and the carving are just stellar!! Forget the C+, those lead spots add character. I’m saying a super solid B+
Bro... crazy idea... Soft Plastic floating popper SwimBait? Love these videos! Beautiful lures!
A popping toad would be cool too.

Life long giant nuchal gill catcher here and first off im just amazed by what you can do, plus those fins are perfect so the time spent on them was worth it.

30:14 “she’ll never return.”
Hallelujah!!! 😂
Another nice bait 😊 thanks
Benjamin Todd in the background. Man has a good taste in music🤙🏼
At 20:56, why are you using a wolf cichlid as the example rather than a bluegill?
I just finished the video. That paint scheme looks amazing on that bait. Well done, Nate!

Perfect. Frontosa bait!

That’s a nice kok.
Congrats on 600k

Lots of aquarium fish in the cichlid world have nuchal humps and some are even bred to enhance this hump. Look up Flowerhorns.
Big kok flowerhorns sell for big money. I'd love to see a crazy colored flowerhorn bait.
Hey Nate here's a video of a flowerhorn I had big money hustler ruclips.net/video/jGfX4nRYlsQ/видео.htmlsi=UwD7NSFcCYfv-Hcf
