Happy to see that guys who are new to fishing are not falling for clout traps and spending their entire paychecks on useless tackle. I've been fishing for 15 years now and in my bag I have 3 smaller boxes, one for soft plastics, one for my inline spinners and one for crankbaits. I mainly target pike and walleye so I kind of cringed a little when I saw your pliers because I use really long needle nose pliers but that's because I'm not fishing out a lure out of 10lb pike's mouth with my bare hands. For something to cut your line with, I would recommend just some nail clippers. They cut way easier than scissors, are inexpensive and can fit any pocket. Another thing is that I like to color sort my soft plastics because I've had experiences with one plastic leaking color (pigment) and coloring others but it seems that most manufacturers caught up to that and solved or minimised that problem. Rod and reel I started out was a cheap combo my dad bought on flea market when I was 6, it was a complete missmatch, 6ft rod and 5000 size chinese reel, so heavy and bulky on a small rod but I caught many fish with it and won many tournaments and now I can afford my own gear.
