Culture Club appear on popular children's TV show 'Jim'll Fix It' - first broadcast in 1983. Apologies for the quality; it is after all nearly 25 years old! I must be living in the future. Hello to all the people 'in the past'.
I am in this video. It was recorded in my secondary school, East Barnet Lower School, and I was in my second year there. I remember being a huge fan of Culture Club at the time, it was the early eighties after all. Anyway, I'm in the second or third row from the front, to the left of the stage as you're looking out from the stage.
This must of been so surreal to have one of the biggest bands in the world at that time on stage in your school,I've always been a fan of George and Culture Club, alas I wouldn't remember this first time I was in nursery.
I have talked about this for years and did not realise someone had this clip !!!! I was there - we really did not believe it was them we really thought it was the 6th form pretending thats why we weren't smiling !!! they stopped them from singing and had to tell us all that it really was culture club and we were to cheer when the curtains went back so they had to do a re-take - it was funny because I saw boy george in the playground that morning smoking and had to look twice -
The headteacher was a guy called Alan. He mentored me and taught me how to teach maths 25 years after this was filmed. He’s a great guy. Not sure if he’s still alive.
I started at East Barnet the year after this was filmed. At the Christmas Assembly the headmaster announced Culture Club and everyone went mad screaming for them. When the curtains went back it was the teachers dressed up - that kind of child cruelty would get you locked up nowadays ;)
OH MY GOODNESS!!! That was NOT a good idea... AT ALL!!!! To disappoint all of those kids. Too bad the real Culture Club was not there... in the wings... and kinda just " pushed " all of the teachers off of the stage... and started playing!!!
Wow....Fabulous concert. Wished back then they were at my school. Looked at the energy . Love that awesome dance Boy George. Thanks for showing this great video...
This was an awesome video, thanks I have never seen this before. I did enjoy it. Did u see george look at jon when he said I'll tumble 4 u? I think george might of felt uncomfortable when it came to the part where he sung about what he'd do to u...:)

27 years later George played in Israel and lost all of my respect.
Shame, He used to be a nice, decent bloke.
Nilguiri what happened??
He was never a nice bloke
