My favourite is a record by Peter Lagger, an Opera singer from the 60's. In einem Kuhlen Gründe. Very scarce, but when you put this record on the turnatable magic happens as this guy's deep voice fills the room with German folk songs. Incredibly beautiful

My holy grail for this year is Kingo Hamada’s Midnight Cruisin’ on vinyl! This is supposed to be the first ever US release for this vinyl, but they keep on delaying the production of it. I pre-ordered it at my record store and it said it would be ready November 16 2022. Now it’s delayed all the way till the end of February, I hope it doesn’t get delayed anymore. It’s expensive at $70, but still is cheaper since getting one from Japan on discogs would cost me around $130 or more! You should check it out, it’s a great album!

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty Soundtrack-so many Jose Gonzales gems and much more on this. Counting Crows-This Desery Life-sooo hard to find and super-expensive. The band has alluded to presses coming for years, but the tapes may be gone forever. Alice in Chains-The Devil Put Dinosaurs Hete-i saw the picture disc once for $75 snd couldn't pull the trigger. Ugh, I'm an idiot. Coverdale Page-S/T-rumors of a repress and a second record have been swirled by Coverdale over the last few years. Hopefully, it happens. Beck-Midnite Vultures-come on, man! This and "The Information" need to be repressed. Van Halen-Balance and For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge I think that about does it... Another great grail list, Matt! I love these videos on what you are hunting down! I think my two biggest grails I’m after is: (1) Marie Antoinette OST, Barnes & Noble exclusive pink variant, and (2) The Police “Synchronicity”, Gold/Silver/Bronze cover. Both are pricey and the second one is so hard to come by. Hope you’re doing well!!! ❤️🎶❤️
I paid an arm and a leg for the Marie Antoinette OST on eBay, but I can tell you it was absolutely worth it! It sounds superb, the pink marble is just beautiful and the artwork will also take your breath away. Definitely one of my most prized possessions. I hope you can get it too!

Barely any copies in existence. Album came out in 2004 but a 80’s band so I think the hint applies.

Elemental had always been my favorite TFF - the production is astounding as are the songs. As far grails go I would like an OG press of The Cure - Bloodflowers and Show. A nice early copy of Velvet Underground and Nico with the sticker intact and I have been getting into Goat lately and need to track down all their stuff. Also an OG press of an old dub record called Dub Roots by Prince Douglas is at the top of my wantlist i would even settle for the 2005 reissue. Also old press of Dub Landing Vol. 1 by Scientist.

It's a reasonable price. It will end up costing me $50 total including int shipping. The one I missed was sealed and from the U.S for $40 total.

My absolute number one is the Kaskade Christmas album (he’s hinted toward a possible repress). Number two is Dave Matthews Band Live Trax Vol. 6 (Live at Fenway). Number three is Kid Cudi Indicud. It’s a relatively easy one to get, but I always miss the lower price listings on Discogs and don’t want to shell out too much.
So so jealous that you have The Whitest Boy Alive.....that is my holiest of holy grails. Saw them live once and they were amazing. My other grail is The Wrens - Meadowlands
I'm glad you found all those grails, Matt! This year I managed to get cross off two. Mavis Staples' We'll Never Turn Around was reissued, thankfully. The other one was Free The Bees by The Bees, but it was such a stressful and kind-of self-loathing experience (due to the amount of money I paid), that I decided never to do it again. From now on I'll be sticking with never paying more than 35-40 USD for a record, but preferably staying below 30 most of the time. So my grail-getting days are now over. Unless one of them gets a reissue for an affordable price. I recommend the Italy pressing for Megadeth Countdown. It's very good. I used to have the South Korea and Picture Disc and it's better than both of those. I'm sure the MoFi is better obviously. I also have the Italy Rust in Peace...also awesome sounding... I have no clue what your secret grail is. Mine #1 is Razormaid - First Cutt. A grail I got this past year was Sargant Fury - Little Fish
My top grail since last year is Cemeteries - Barrow.. I think only 100 pressed. I keep kicking myself I didn’t buy the one for $180 this past summer on Discogs. Was a bad time to spend that much. Now there’s two sellers but both are new so I don’t trust them. Also the prices are high vs what it last sold for. Also I have that Lianne La Havas. Can’t believe the inflation. I remember my cousin bought it for me as a gift in 2018.

There was an original copy of Maggot Brain at crossroads records in Portland for the longest time for about $60-70

As far grails go I would like an OG press of The Cure - Bloodflowers and Show. A nice early copy of Velvet Underground and Nico with the sticker intact and I have been getting into Goat lately and need to track down all their stuff. Also an OG press of an old dub record called Dub Roots by Prince Douglas is at the top of my wantlist i would even settle for the 2005 reissue. Also old press of Dub Landing Vol. 1 by Scientist.

@@TooManyRecords yeah the blue ice color was a nice choice. I am thinking about buying a copy from a German record store on discogs. I don't know when another will come up for sale. It's a reasonable price. It will end up costing me $50 total including int shipping.
The one I missed was sealed and from the U.S for $40 total.

My absolute number one is the Kaskade Christmas album (he’s hinted toward a possible repress).
Number two is Dave Matthews Band Live Trax Vol. 6 (Live at Fenway).
Number three is Kid Cudi Indicud. It’s a relatively easy one to get, but I always miss the lower price listings on Discogs and don’t want to shell out too much.
Indicud is so underrated! I have a copy myself.

This year I managed to get cross off two. Mavis Staples' We'll Never Turn Around was reissued, thankfully.
The other one was Free The Bees by The Bees, but it was such a stressful and kind-of self-loathing experience (due to the amount of money I paid), that I decided never to do it again.
From now on I'll be sticking with never paying more than 35-40 USD for a record, but preferably staying below 30 most of the time.
So my grail-getting days are now over. Unless one of them gets a reissue for an affordable price.

@@TooManyRecords Girls Against Boys is one of my favorite 90s bands. "Kill The Sexplayer" was their only single never released on a 7" vinyl 45. It's on their Cruise Yourself LP as well as Clerks and both go for ridiculous amounts

I recommend the Italy pressing for Megadeth Countdown. It's very good. I used to have the South Korea and Picture Disc and it's better than both of those. I'm sure the MoFi is better obviously. I also have the Italy Rust in Peace...also awesome sounding...

My top grail since last year is Cemeteries - Barrow.. I think only 100 pressed. I keep kicking myself I didn’t buy the one for $180 this past summer on Discogs. Was a bad time to spend that much. Now there’s two sellers but both are new so I don’t trust them. Also the prices are high vs what it last sold for.
Also I have that Lianne La Havas. Can’t believe the inflation. I remember my cousin bought it for me as a gift in 2018.
