I feel like there are 2 reactions to the base being dislodged. The first you see here, realizing you’d still be safe because the base should still be there and you can’t control that. The second would be still thinking the base is the part you need to touch, and scrambling to keep contact with the base wherever it ended up. Or I guess a 3rd would be to go for comedy and pick up the base and act like since you are still touching second they can’t tag you out and continue running the bases, literally stealing the base.
There’s actually a rule to cover that. If the runner (or batter-runner) is in the vicinity of the base location on the field, he’s safe. It’s a judgement call.
Situational awareness: 6:25 - earthquake happening, announcer: "I would not want to be sitting in the first rows of the upper deck. I guess we kind of are."

To be fair on that first clip, that call at second was absolutely atrocious, I don't blame him for not seeing the safe call. Who the hell would think they're safe there? If anything, it teaches a valuable lesson to *not* do anything if you feel you messed up. You look right at the ump before you give up and if he says safe, don't fight it.
As a fellow blind person that outfielder having his contact fall out and just pulling his case out of his back pocket and pop a new one in was a chad move.
@@LCSClips22 Oh it was a long time ago. He's all good. He had a rod in his leg and was back like 5 or 6 months later. He was a catcher too so thats even crazier.
When there is an earthquake any structure you are in (or a camera is attached to) is going to shake much more than standing feet to earth. Those players probably didnt even feel it, but in the stands it's pronounced.
At 9:23 the funniest thing happens. The pitcher is about to be taken out of the game and throws the ball towards center field. At the same time the center fielder is looking away from the pitcher and doesn't realize the pitcher had just thrown the ball. So the center fielder looking towards the stands suddenly sees a ball flying over his head and he is thinking did someone hit a home run while i was looking away as he just sees the ball sail over the fence. That is one of the funniest things I've ever seen in baseball. LOL !!!
I was at a game in Minute Maid park years ago. The Angels were in town. Now I’m not an Astros or angels fan so don’t worry. The Astros brought in a new pitcher before the previous one threw a pitch. Mike Scioscia ended up protesting the game. There was so much confusion and I didn’t know what happened until after the game.

Serious question, if the play at 5:55 in this video is an out then why is the play at 10:34 of the first oddities video not an out also. Both involve catching it off the mask and neither touches the ground
6:16. Ya that earthquake was bad but me and my friends were playing monopoly and didn’t notice until I looked around and everyone else was looking around. And we were closer to the origin
Let's talk about baseball. Not the Astros, not the virus, the good parts of baseball.
What's the craziest or most intense play you've ever witnessed?

The squirrel 🐿
EXE-Edits all of game 7 2016 or game 5 2017
This wasn’t a play but I was at the giants Memorial Day game when Harper charged the mound
I was at the game that Jordan Hicks threw 105 MPH.
Cody Bellinger definition: The first MVP to lose his pants while getting his 100th RBI in the season
True 👍
He would’ve been safe too if he reached for the base instead of his pants lmao
Now like one of the worst hitters

Big facts boi ☹️👌👌😆
The squirrel coming back a second time in the Minnesota game had me dying.
Daniel Varney same

I'm glad someone else noticed that 😂

0:26, when he was tagged he was probably like "That was a bad call anyways, I should be out."
Big boy probably wanted to get back to the team buffet.
12:00 Good on the stadium staff for playing "Yakkity Sax" during the squirrel's reappearance!

Every moment with the squirrel had me in tears XD especially when they statcasted his run speed. Little guy was BOOKING it lol
they had me rolling when they put up the line tracking the squirrel's path
The fact that they even had the squirrels name on the statcast thing 🤣🤣🤣

I was actually at the Angels-Cubs game with Justin Bour. It was really confusing
Why did Bour walk away? Did he know the replay would call him out? I've never heard what he was thinking?
Maybe the slowest player in baseball right now😂
